  1. I just learned there is no icing modeled on the Just Flight Arrow. Does the Carenado Arrow have icing? Anyone who bought it want to give it a try?
  2. Yeah this is a real shame I was really excited about this and likely would have bought both the naturally aspirated and Turbo versions given the large discount for people who bought both. But I just can't support cutting corners like this in a GA aircraft at this price, especially when other cheaper GA aircraft having icing.
  3. I'm not dropping $45 on something that is missing features the stock aircraft have, no matter what excuses the developer wants to make. I'll wait for MilViz or A2A and see what they bring to the table.
  4. More corner cutting BS. Oh well, I won't be buying this then.
  5. What is super frustrating is that someone with Windows OS knowledge should be able to look at the stack traces from the Windows Event Viewer and diagnose what is going on. You'd think being a part of Microsoft and all and having sold $160 million worth of copies of MSFS that the Flight Simulator team might be able to send some logs over to the Windows team and request a few minutes for them to review.
  6. Based on what the mod changes in the stock Bonanza I can't see how it would cause any issues. I haven't done any long flights since the last update though.
  7. Some optional convenience features they have added which I think are nice to make this more accessible for all users: The EFB has an auto fuel tank switch option to prevent fuel imbalance if you leave the simulator going on its own on a long flight You can click the Piper logo over the autopilot coupling mode knob to turn on an altitude hold mode, even though the real autopilot doesn't have this I really like this idea of having a few extras to make things easier for new pilots, but implementing them in a way that they are optional.
  8. Yes, per the manual they re-purposed the Intecom switch to show/hide the EFB.
  9. I have not had it myself, but this CTD seems to be tied to the Windows Audio service. Posters on the official MSFS Forum have noted that stopping with Windows Audio service before starting the sim mitigates it. It seems like it could be a bug in the WWise sound library, and another game (Death Stranding) might be having this happen as well: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/ctd-on-launch-caused-by-ucrtbase-dll-with-exception-code-c0000005/340406/45 If you can reproduce that stopping a service mitigates this I'd report it to ZenDesk. Apparently Asobo is having a very hard time reproducing CTDs to diagnose (supposedly).
  10. It's several separate mods. Download the one you want from the BLL site here and extract the folder in your Community folder.
  11. All of the SimVars are there to get the relative wind direction, speed, etc and also to apply generic forces and moments to the aircraft. It's probably a simple flight model coded outside the simulator. An early example of this was in the 2 "aircraft carrier" addons which appy a catapult acceleration to the aircraft.
  12. I thought that I read the F-15 had found a way to get around the TAA issue, but still no collimation due to MSFS not supporting it, so the flight path indicator is not accurate depending on where your head position is in the cockpit. I'm sure if there was a HUD on the CRJ we'd have collimated HUDs by now.....but only the chosen developers get that level of access to Asobo.
  13. I was playing with that X-Cub with floats over the weekend. Nice to have an aircraft with floats in the sim!
  14. I doubt I'd buy both of them, would probably get the Turbo version.
  15. These are the big advantages I see: 3 different GPS configurations that you can switch between (a non-Asobo retro GPS100, GNS430, GNS530) Extra failure modes beyond the default in-sim failures: Vapor lock Oil consumption Spark plug fouling Fast battery drain with a battery recharge option (The stock sim supports battery drain as well, but this is likely a better version) State saving between uses of the aircraft Much more comprehensive manual/documentation It doesn't seem to be A2A-level, but some nice extra stuff. I've never owned a Just Flight product so can't comment on how the flight model might feel/
  16. External FPS tools sometimes show way more FPS then the actual in-sim dev mode FPS counter. I'm skeptical that anyone can get 100fps on the dev mode counter under any circumstances, you'd be Limited By Mainthread way before that.
  17. If the OP is trying to match performance with the naturally aspirated G36, then the Improvement mod is probably closer to what they want. Robert's Turbo mod has higher climb performance and that's what I unusually fly 😉 You'll want to install the Working Title G1000 as well, it has added engine pages that hook into the G36 Improvement mod.
  18. It's a tough balance and it's very possible that climb rate is the parameter that just "is what it is", because as you said anything you change there (drag or engine output) is likely to upset cruise. You might check out the G36 Improvement mod which has also been tuned by some folks with real world G36 experience - https://flightsim.to/file/1056/g36-improvement-project
  19. And then they backpedaled this statement a bit in the most recent Q&A by saying that they actually would prefer Working Title to improve the Garmins, so it's not clear that Asobo even intends to do this as promised. I love the Working Title folks but they have way more people contributing to the CJ4 then to the Garmins at this point, as far as I can tell. So Garmin progress has been relatively slow. That's the nature of open source projects, contributors come and go and progress ebbs and flows. But hey, anything Asobo can use to get out of doing work. Also, this: Is nothing but a lame attempt to keep from asking the questions the community actually has about how updates will be QAed in the future to avoid a repeat of the flaps bug - that would be the #1 most voted item.
  20. The update is on the host side only (Steam or the MS Store). As you've observed, if you ALT-TAB you should see 1.13.17.0 in the title of the MSFS window.
  21. Do most users even know what a Package is or what folder they should delete? Super confusing wording. Many people will have used the Community folder version of the fix, I assume that needs to be removed as well.
  22. It would be nice if there were a detail level setting in the sim that 3DP addons could somehow hook into to turn features like this on or off. Since I fly GA aircraft and mostly park at parking spots, the ever-present MSFS Pushback Crew that seems to magically teleport to every place I land is plenty of people for me. I could see how tubeliner pilots might like to see some people in the terminal though. Especially that last person running for the gate and being turned away as the door to the jetway is already closed. Give us a '3DP Scenery Detail - Low/Med/High/Ultra' or something like that.
  23. That is not how it "always was", in the pre-internet and pre-DRM days it was generally one copy could be used by one person at a time. There were no logins to tie things to.
  24. This is just how the modern software world works, unfortunately. It's about license entitlements, not the physical files. As far as I'm aware, in-sim Marketplace purchases are tied to an X-Box account. I expect (but have not confirmed) that if you bought third party addons that get installed into the Community folder from say Simmarket, then those would work with any X-Box login into that copy of MSFS....but that may still be ok or not depending on the license associated with those addons.
