June 29, 200421 yr Aerosoft Eurowings and all their scenery is "fit n forget" with excellent sounds and easy frame rates. Overall I'd say good value for money.FSNav is by far the most useful tool.FS Autostart(freeware) is one I could not do without.
June 29, 200421 yr Nobody has mentioned the 'Eaglesoft' Cessna Citation X. This takes a lot of beating for a small businss jet. It has models for slow to fast PC's, moving passenger, ground crew and loads more. Regards Keith B. Life is a short dash between two dates on a Tombstone
June 29, 200421 yr I too think the Eaglesoft Citation X is a good deal *however*, I am going to wait till Reality XP releases there stand-alone FMC to buy it. Finally having a stand-alone FMC will be a great addition to some aircraft that dont quite come neatly bundled like the PMDG planes do! Eric
June 29, 200421 yr Hiya Timon.Just wanted to let you know that if you have two computers you can marry PS1 with MSFS and have both the best available aircraft simulation (PS1) and very nice views (MSFS). Visit the forum at Aerowinx for more info. There is a healthy bunch of people that are developing lots of gems for the PS1 which keeps it very much alive :) /Tord Hoppe, Sweden
June 29, 200421 yr >FS does not have access to some of the>data available to ActiveSky, as the Winds Aloft data.>Fs just downloads METARs and that's all.Respectfully disagree as you CAN download Winds Aloft in the FS2004 "Real Weather" if you have the appropriate option enabled. However, notwithstanding, it is still highly dissapointing and there is no question that ActiveSky is premiere in weather management - especially with "Route-based weather smoothing"!Joe Miller
June 29, 200421 yr FSUIPC (registered)WideFSActiveSky2004FlightKeeperFSBuildI run ActiveSky, FlightKeeper, and FSBuild on my laptop, and Flight Simulator on the my PC. I believe these addons are worth every penny.Joe Miller
June 29, 200421 yr Aside from the PMDG 700/800/900 which is the only commercial airliner I fly in FS2004 I would recommend Real Air Simulations SF-260 as the ultimate touring and aerobatic aircraft. Fabulous looking (the original aircraft was styled by the Italian Car Designer Pininfarina), excellent sharp readable VC and the most accurate flight dynamics known to (virtual) man.RegardsAdam Moore
June 29, 200421 yr Hi,Obviously the PMDG NG's are the most polished product available.I also think these are excellent..Activesky2004... a mustSSW 310 1.4 ... a couple more points to iron out but excellentRFP v2 747 200 ... The best analogue sim out there, seriously complexNow I am waiting for the Flight1 ATR, Deamfleet 727 and the PMDG 744. I would like to see a 777 and a Airbus 330/340 done to PMDG standards.Others products worth looking at are Ultimate traffic, FSBuild.Paul
June 29, 200421 yr I will also throw in a vote for any of the ES products. I own the BeechJet 400A, Premier 1, and Citation X. Love the airplanes. About the FMC: the way I understand it, the RXP FMC will be an add on (and an expensive one), so you may want to go ahead and the the X because I don't think ES will bundle. Check over on the ES forums before buying though.Danny
June 29, 200421 yr I know FSUIPC Active Sky 2004 (have them)But what isWide FS FlightKeeper FSBuild?RegardsJan Friberg
June 30, 200421 yr FSBuild is a flightplanner. http://www.fsbuild.com/WideFS links utilities on different computers. This would let you run for instance ActiveSky on one comp and MSFS on another. http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.htmlFlightKeeper, I don /Tord Hoppe, Sweden
June 30, 200421 yr Aside from the obvious number one, PMDG's NG, I'd say the following are my favorite:Flight 1 Piper Meridian - This plane is really exceptional. Excellent flight dynamics, wonderful gauges and RXP GPS, and overall perfect GA. Some complain of frame rate hit, but I have no issues.Reality XP's GNS 530 GPS - This GPS makes the default one look horrible. Complete with TCAS, highways, lakes, and other items the default GPS won't display. This item is really the best non-airplane add-on there is!Reality XP's Jetline 2, Jetline 4, and WX500 Weather Radar. I also think these are really awesome products that look and function extremely well.Add-ons I'm really looking forward to or plan to get:Flight 1's ATR and USA RoadsDreamfleet's 737-200/400FFS SAAB and King AirThere's more I'm sure ;) - Chris Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX | Intel Core i9 13900KF | Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 24 GB | 64GB DDR5 SDRAM | Corsair H100i Elite 240mm Liquid Cooling | 1TB & 2TB Samsung Gen 4 SSD | 1000 Watt Gold PSU | Windows 11 Pro | Thrustmaster Boeing Yoke | Thrustmaster TCA Captain X Airbus | Asus ROG 38" 4k IPS Monitor (PG38UQ) Asus Maximus VII Hero motherboard | Intel i7 4790k CPU | MSI GTX 970 4 GB video card | Corsair DDR3 2133 32GB SDRAM | Corsair H50 water cooler | Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD (2) | EVGA 1000 watt PSU - Retired
June 30, 200421 yr Author Hi all,Although I'm sure there will be more comments to come. I'd just like to thank you all for your input so far.My big 'look forward to' list currently includes- PMDG NG updates and 747- FFS SAAB 340- Flight1 ATRAs much as I want one, no-one has said anything to convince me of the greatness of any existing A320 product yet. PMDG, despite the A320 field being a bit full, why don't you put the others to shame? We all know you could... :-) Mark Adeane - NZWN
June 30, 200421 yr Hi Mark,it really depends on your preferences and system capabilities.Personally, I am scenery freak since after spending hours on a flightdeck it's nice to see realistic airfields at your departure/arrival choices.I wouldn't want to bore you with the stuff I have installed on this computer but scenery aside I think FSBuild is an excellent choice as is ActiveCamera and a registered version of FSUIPC. I'd also highly recommend FDC (flight deck companion) if you want a first officer to "assist" you while flying the PMDG iron :)Scenery-wise please feel free to email me since I don't want to take up too much valuable avsim forum space:-bigangel but to me scenery is a BIG must-have! FS9, despite it's huge improvements, still leaves a lot to be desired concerning the bland-looking generic airports.Just my two euro-cents worth :)Tony
