September 9, 200223 yr PIC Friends,With the immense popularity of PIC767 - and the growing grumpiness of many of us here on the PIC forum in regards to honest questions from new people, I think we should put together a FAQ with the top 10 asked questions here on the PIC forum. It's quite simple really, we decide what needs to be answered - assign a question to a person, then put it all together and get it anchored at the top of the foum (or just bump it up every week). This is not a be all and end all of PIC (we all have lives) but the intention is to provide new people with the answers they most commonly seek.Ian's list that should be included:Merging POSKY with PIC (including link to merge, and edits for contacts and lights)Starting your enginesTrim settings for takeoffTaxiing thrust in fs2002Saving/Loading FS2002 flight plansHow to use the FIX pageThe rudder deflection issueHow to create, install, find SIDS & STARSA link to the 2 sample flights that were created in the past year which people used to use all the time. I think one was created by TABS and I can not remember who made the other one, but I do know that they were very useful.Anyone interested in helping out? Suggest anything else that should be on the list.Let me know what you want to answer - and hopefully you will never have to answer it again, leaving you more pleasant, and more time available to FLY your 767 or try and understand the posts by our more technical community members like Ian, HPS, and TH.Ian Elchitz [email protected]

September 9, 200223 yr "growing grumpiness"I love it!!!! :-lolThe FAQ is a great idea! I am by no means a PIC767 expert but if there is any way I can contribute I would be glad to help.
September 9, 200223 yr Commercial Member GREAT IDEA!!!I'll clean up my tutorial flight and we can include it...Ryan Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com

September 10, 200223 yr Hi all!I don't fly the PIC767 often enough to contribute to a FAQ, but I would like to take this opportunity to thank all who are considering putting one together...great idea!!!Regards,ScottCFII/KJMS "...now let's get this thing on the hump - we've got some flyin' to do!" ~ Major Kong from "Dr. Stranglove" Scott Cebula
September 10, 200223 yr Hey Ian,I proposed the exact same thing back on June 14th (after answering the same question about a dozen times), but nobody seemed interested. :-rollhttp://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/DCForumID33/1016.htmlWell, it seems at least you're getting some interest in the idea.I'll contribute to the FAQ if it gets off the ground (aviation pun fully intended!) :)Regards,Steve Dra Regards, Steve DraGet my paints for MSFS planes at flightsim.to here, and iFly 737s hereDownload my FSX, P3D paints at Avsim by clicking here
September 10, 200223 yr Perhaps you should include the items from the already-existing faq that are still relevant.http://www.flightsimnetwork.com/efpanels/7...C/767PICfaq.htm
September 11, 200223 yr Help me understand this better. On the issue of trimming the plane for takeoff there are a number of very detailed (and complex) posts that explain the issue and generally it boils down to a number of 3 or 4 in most cases. The problem I have is I don't know how to apply this to the PIC panel. Where is the trim gauge (I have searched and only see the trim guages on the pedestal but they dont seem to move when I adjust the trim buttons on the yoke). I have been flying 767PIC extensively for the past few months and really have noticed trim as an issue on either takeoff or landing.Any comments appreciated.Mark. Mark CYYZ
September 11, 200223 yr The pedestal is the only place to check it. If you hold down the trim switch long enough, you'll see the pointer move.
September 11, 200223 yr Ian,Great idea!I recently searched this great forum for a problem and it would be nice to have one universal FAQ.The problem I had was that the GPWS call-outs were missing. The (simple) solution was to change the speaker settings within XP...Hope that this initiative will result into a great FAQ!Regards,Theo.
