February 13, 200422 yr Anybody else find that the beta is taking 25-30 seconds each and every time for it to finish "writing data to fsuipc / flight simulator"?Mark Kuebeler
February 13, 200422 yr Author Commercial Member Hi Mark,Yes, this is normal. We had to increase the write range (meaning more stations) as well as slow down each individual station write to further prevent wind and wx consistency problems. Hope that helps!-Damian Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
February 13, 200422 yr Unfortunately, it appears the cloud pops are still there. I have the default options set. Even tried it with suppression range 150, instead of 100.Thanks,Scott
February 13, 200422 yr Author Commercial Member Scott, thanks for the report. What area? When during your flight did this happen? How often did it happen? What did you see? With route loaded or without? Any more detailed information would help a bunch. Have you read the new FAQ and tried the solutions recommended (besides range at 150)? Anyone else experience this? Thanks!Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpg Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
February 13, 200422 yr After reading the faq Damian, you're right. It happened at FL370 over the plains, which I assume has few reporting stations.I'll do some more fiddling, but it appears to be a problem with FS9 that we'll just have to deal with.If anyone else is having the problem please say so because If I'm the only the one then something's not right on my end. Thanks again, ScottP.S. -- I did not have route-based wind smoothing on, but I did have visibility checked. And the pop ups did happen more than once.Clouds would not disappear in the distance, but rather right under the plane.
February 13, 200422 yr I were wondering the constant writes too. Each it begins to write information into FS, the program hangs up for the while, which is annoying if I want to check a weather station or winds aloft. How about manual setting for the write updates?I'm already thinking of installing the previous patch, since I don't like the constant write updates which hangs up AS2004 for few seconds
February 13, 200422 yr Commercial Member Goodafternoon,I have d/l the MR1 updated and with the following METAR, I have found that at LGAV although the METAR says snow there is no snow anywhere (in real Life LGAV is closed for the past 8 hours), in the other two airports snow is falling as expected. LGEL is 20 miles from LGAVLGAV 131120Z 35010KT 320V020 0100 R03R/0225V0600D R03L/0250V0500D +SN BLSN VV003 M03/M04 Q1015 NOSIGLGEL 131120Z 33022G32KT 0100 +SN FG BKN005 BKN020 OVC060 M05/M06 Q1015LGHI 131100Z 36018KT 0800 SN FG SCT008 OVC025 M02/M04 Q1013Also it seems that after passing the Overcast layer for example at LGEL at FL110 there is no Overcast below but ground can been seen clearly. I have Overcast Enhancement checked at the options.Chris Chris Makris PLEASE NOTE PMDG HAS DEPARTED AVSIM You can find us at http://forum.pmdg.com
February 13, 200422 yr Don't want to sound nitpicky, but Maintenance is misspelled in the installer...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/62528.jpg
February 13, 200422 yr Destination weather shows up at point of departure, (yes my clear weather stops dynamics box is checked in FSUIPC), weather only changes after several pushes of the "refresh" button. ARGGHH!
February 13, 200422 yr How far apart are your departure and destination? What are your departure and destination?EDIT> Keep in mind everyone, for your bug reports to be as useful as possible, please provide as much relevant information as possible - It will make Damian and crew's (or crewe given the coming holiday?) job easier in tracking down a problem! February 13, 200422 yr Author Commercial Member Hi,The updates should happen only at your set update interval. Is this not the case? You should thus be able to set your update inveral higher (say 30 mins) and this should help you out.-Damian Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
February 13, 200422 yr Author Commercial Member Thanks Ken!Oops!Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpg Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
February 13, 200422 yr Author Commercial Member Hi have you checked the new FAQ? There is a recommended solution for inconsistent wx. Basically you need to manually clear all wx via FSUIPC, force AS2004 refresh, and all should be good at that point. Do you note the same? Using latest FSUIPC? Thanks!Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpg Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
February 13, 200422 yr Author Commercial Member Hi Chris,Just checked, works ok for me. Did you try the recommended solution of manually clearing wx first via FSUIPC?Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpg Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
