February 16, 200422 yr Hi Jim Here is what I did.Loaded FS at NZCHSet weather to 'Clear skies' under Weather Themes in FSLoaded AS2004 on 2nd Computer Loaded flightplan under 'New Route'Moved FS to YBBN (destination in flightplan)AS2004 began 10sec write sequence as soon as FS finished loading new textures etc.I realise this is not how it would happen realistically when flying -but then it shouldn't do this either but this may be a means for Damian to replicate the problem. February 16, 200422 yr Good thanks,Pretty much like my situation. Anyone else?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
February 16, 200422 yr It may not really be "crashed" - the new version takes a substantially longer time to update because of the number of stations that are written during which time the program is unresponsive. It even fails to draw it's own windows. Be patient - wait a few minutes and see if it comes back. I find this a bit of an annoyance as well - I find setting up a flight, importing a plan and processing takes much longer than it used to because of all the waiting around for AS2k4 to do its thing...Best,sg [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
February 17, 200422 yr Just an update to my temperature problem. Last time, I started AS2004 before FS9. After loading FS9, I loaded the flight plan and processed it and then taxied for departure. The temp at 35000 ft was reported as between +22 deg C and +25 deg C. Today I had the same problem. This time, I exited AS2004 and left FS9 flying. I reloaded AS2004, processed the flight plan (even though I was airborne) and re-entered FS9. This time the temp went from +19 deg C passing through 21000 ft (pre reloading AS2004) to -2 deg C (after the reload airborne).I don't know if this is related to the 10 sec reloading problem on the ground, but appears as though something is not being processed correctly on the ground. Hope this helps ???Cheers,
February 17, 200422 yr Jim,Today with a flight schedule to go from CYYZ to MKJS (Toronto to Montego Bay), I loaded FS with Ken Salter's autostart program. When FS9 loaded, I started AS2004, when it initialized, I attempted to use the load new route function, AS started the constant update routine. In between the updates which did occur every 10 seconds I loaded the route I was flying. I then watched AS update constantly, which just made my system slow to a crawl. At this current stage of this update, my AS2004 program is not usable at all.I hope that you and Damiam can get to the bottom of this problem since it is now unusable on my system.Bob
February 17, 200422 yr Bob,For now just don't load a flight plan. Damian will be aware. I can't fix major stuff, I can just troubleshoot with the rest of you great users and try different things out!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
February 17, 200422 yr Damian,I continue to have a problem with cloud cover disappearing at my destination.Flying in OFFLINE mode. Before departure I check my destination weather, after AS2004 sets it, by looking at my destination's weather on the FS9 customized weather map. At this point FS9 and the AS2004 metar are in good agreement. Then, somewhere along in the flight, my destination cloud cover disappears, even though I'm well within the Local Suppression zone.I have tried every conceivable option variation in AS2004, but always get the same result.I had said in a previous post I thought it might be some kind of FS9 interpolation. I am no longer certain of this. I don't recall seeing this so often in the past. Thanks in advance for your support.
February 17, 200422 yr Don't know if this has been mentioned yet........ can't plough through them all.I find there is an un-necessary update when using/entering a FP.When you start AS2004 it loads wx and we all know it takes a lot longer now. Then when you select to enter a route/FP it does it all over again before you can "process" it...... then it does it a third time. Long time to wait before you can get into the flight.Seems way too many d/loads going on at this stage.Biggest problem is you cant interrupt the d/load till it is completed.martin
February 17, 200422 yr My apologies, I misunderstood which beta this was in reference too when I made my original post. Since installing the most recent update, the weather is loading properly. Thanks, John HaleyThunder BayCanada
February 17, 200422 yr Moderator This is more under a FWIW type of post but:I have experienced none of the problems related here other than some violent wind shifts. I have AS2004 autostart with FS9 in paused mode. I select my flight, move to location and click refresh. WHen processing has stopped, I fly. If I've created a flightplan, I will load it else not and have had no differences whether I do or don't. I do NOT clear all weather. I also only fly in US.Only addons are FSGenesis landclass. One other strangeness tho, since switching to AS2004 - the "render to texture" issue has disappeared and I have RTT turned ON now.I usually check the weather first and find an area where it might be raining, snowing etc. Then I select that area to fly ing and so fgar, AS2004 has gotten it right. Now, that said, I DO NOT try to match the wind speed or temp with what the metar reports etc - just general observations.Using FSUIPC 3.2 reg'dAthlon XP2700A7n8x mobo1g ramTI4600 video 5303 drivers.XP proHTH,Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
February 17, 200422 yr Hi GuysJust want to metion that I have also noticed this high temperature at Cruise FL'sStill busy investigating but whiles using the PMDG 737 I got TAT on 1 flight of 21'C at FL310 where the NAV log showed SAT to be round -46'C and on another leg TAT of 9'C where AS nav log showed -33'C SAT.Flights where form FAJS-FADN and FAJS-FVFA + return leg FVFA-FAJS.Will investigate more and post again my findings.RegardsJannier Regards Jannie Roelofse Flight1 Software Project Manager
