BEST freeware Virtual Cockpit?

Featured Replies

You should really check out the P-51D available here (http://www.gjsmith.net/Textures/P-51D.htm)It's absolutely stunning. Don't be deceived by the small download size. It includes a very nice virtual cockpit with model-based gauges (ie. very fast refresh), a very convincing sound set, and a very nice "feel" all around.

737 Experience - and now the VC is being incorporated into the new Posky 737NG models too.;)

Wow, gotta admit, that looks beautiful.

Bazza,Search for '737exp11.zip' here in the library; this is version 1.1 of the 737 Experience, put together by a team of enthusiastic simmers who frequent the forums at Simviation. The model was designed by 'Moach' (in reality two brothers from Brazil) which included a ground-breaking dynamic virtual cockpit where everything you need to fly the 737-700 is clickable in the VC - and it looks great too. Certainly one of the best-looking VCs (and models) available for FS9, and there are many re-paints out there for it.Project Opensky thinks so too, because they have negotiated with Moach to let them add the VC to their latest 737NG releases. The recently-released winglet version of the -800, and also the -700c have the VC included, which has been revamped and re-textured. You can get these from the Project Opensky website, but don't miss the 737 Experience: if you fly airliners in FS9 it's a must-have.Martyn;)

My vote is for the Venevionnes Rockwell Turbocommander 690B in the Avsim library.Best Regards, Donny:-waveFLYing? It's cool. Trillions of birds and insects can't be wrong.

The Carenado Cessna 182 Skylane II (payware) also has a great VC.

Lots of good stuff listed here so far, but I wanted to add the NAMC YS-11 v2.7 by AFG. It's a COMPLETE package -excellent sounds, flight model, visual model, and panels. The VC is very flyable with excellent gauge refresh and superb lighting. Give it a try: ys-11jac.zip in the file library. Regards, Robert

>Antoher good one is the Overland Simmer's Sky MD-11v2 which>can be found here: http://www.overland.co.jp/sms/free.htmlDownloaded that but, the installer dosen't give you a choice of destination?Eventually got it minus the switches and gauges..........Not what I would include in this thread. My favourites are Maltby's BAC 1-11's and Project Tupolev's TU-154.
