Throttle cut during climb...
Bryan- I tried another test flight and everything went well, no amber flashing A/T indicator as I was able to peg V2+10. The "cruse climb" and "Flaps up speed" commands went fine as well. It was when I commanded VNAV that I got a throttle cut. I paused the sim and took a look at what was going on. I firewall the CH throttles after I hit TOGA, so that shouldn't be a problem. Everything seemed as it should, the values on the CLB page on the CDU where what they should be (250/10000), and the MCP looked fine. I did get a FMC message saying "Thrust Required". I un-paused the sim and called CMD A and the throttles responded, going to the N1 setting. Strange stuff. I don't know what to do other than re-installing the iFly aircraft and FS2Crew. I'll post this in the Ifly forum as well.... -Robert

Throttle cut during climb...
Bryan, The FMC is programmed correctly, and no change in procedures (been following those in the FS2Crew Manual). One thing different in my setup is that I had to re-calibrate my yoke recently as it had started pulling left all of a sudden for some reason on all aircraft. Re-calibrating it in FSUIPC solved this, however. One odd thing that's going on, is now the A/T disengage light will flash amber intermittently on take off roll and initial climb (not a steady flash). At this point, I have the speed on the MCP set at V2.My gut feeling is that something is going on with my CH hardware and FSUIPC. I will probably uninstall and re-install the CH hardware (i don't use their software) and do the same with FSUIPC (i just checked that I'm using the most current version), re-calibrate and check. Any thoughts before I do this? Thanks, -Robert

Throttle cut during climb...
Having a problem with the throttles cutting back to idle right after take off -yikes!! Specifically, right when I call for for "set climb thrust", or "set flaps up speed". This happens with both of the departure profiles. I don't have this problem if I use the iFly aircraft without using FS2Crew. I have uninstalled and re-installed FS2Crew, but the problem remains. I'm using FS9 as well as a CH yoke, pedals, and throttle quad, all calibrated w/FSUIPC. I should add that this problem has only occurred during the last 4 or 5 flights I have made using the Ifly 737NG and the FS2Crew button addition, this didn't happen at first. I'm running Windows 7(64bit) w/UAC turned off. I have installed all add-ons w/o having any antivirus or firewall software operating. This is my first FS2Crew purchase and It really adds to the immersion factor of the sim. I would love to have it runing normally again as flights with out it are just not the same. Ideas? Regards, Robert

Appeal to CH Yoke + iFly 737 pilots
Yes!I have a CH yoke, pedals, and throttle quadrant. I calibrate all of them through FSUIPC, and I have been able to get it to engage CMD & CWS by simply increasing the null zone a bit on the ailerons and elevator. I didn't have to touch the sensitivity slider. Hope this helps. -Robert

"I bought iFly 737 for FS9" thread

FSD sale what do you rec.
I wanted to chime in and say that as a result of this post, I bought the FSD Piper Seneca V ver2 and I have to say that I'm quite pleased. It really is a nice aircraft that features great sounds, nice 2d and VC panels, good visual model, and ...a really good flight model! The (VC)panel layout is the same as in the screen shot that Al has posted above in this thread, except that there is another row of engine instruments for the extra engine present on the Seneca. There is also a fair amount of documentation that comes with the package that helps to make it complete. For $15 USD, it's a great deal. As a result of this experience, I'll probably go ahead and pick up the other two FSD Pipers: the Saratoga and the Navajo. -Robert

Digital Avation Cheyenne
I just wanted to point out that the DF727 Config. Manager and Text-o-Matic software works perfectly in windows 7, 64bit. It works great on my machine, but you have to follow some directions that are posted in the Df727 forum. -Robert

REX and ASE...
Thanks Al, I think that I'll give downloading a go. I don't know if I have the kind of patience to wait for the CD. Robert

Orange runway lights with Project Canarias
It sounds like Project Canarias is overwriting the default textures used for runway lighting with their own. The trick is to find out where these default textures are located and then back them up to a safe place and reinstall them after you install the Project Canarias scenery. Perhaps some kind soul who knows more about this will post with what and where these file are and located. Best of luck. -Robert

REX and ASE...
Thanks to all of you who responded to my original post, -extremely helpful explanation and advice! Thanks for bringing up HD environment but, I've pretty much decided to give REX a go, especially since I now understand that ASE and REX are mutually exclusive. I've been using Active Sky since they first came out with their first product years ago (before that, I believed I used FSMeteo, -anyone remember that one?), and wish to go on using it -ASE is excellent! I really like the water textures from Zinertek(?) that I'm currently using and will probably install it on top of REX eventually. The thing is that if I read correctly, REX is a nearly a 1gig download, -yow! I might have to have his one be put on disk and mailed to me this time around. Anyway, looking forward to it. Will chime in to let you know how it goes.cheers! -Robert

REX and ASE...
I'm considering purchasing REX for FS9 but I am concerned about it working with Active Sky Evo, which I don't want to give up using as my weather program. Have any of you out there had experience in using these two together? If so, could you share your experience, pro's & con's? Thanks in advance!-Robert

Wilco Airbus and windows 7 64bit
Oh boy...I've got the AIRBUS itch again and I'm considering the purchase of the Wilco AIRBUS vol. 1, but seem to recall it not being able to work with a 64bit system. Is this true? Anybody out there been able to use the two with any success? Thanks in advance.Robert

Order of updates, 737-800/900
Reinstalling the PMDG 737-600/700(v1.3) & 800/900 on a fresh install of FS9 after being away for flight sim for awhile...On the PMDG website in the service updates page, for the 800/900, there is the service pack 1.1. Also for the 800/900 is a "Model Update" file as well. My question is do I need both and if so, does it matter which one I install first? If I missed this in a FAQ or readme file somewhere, my apologies.Cheers!Robert Rohwer

Reinstalled FS9, now this?
Shane, If I could make a suggestion based on looking at your build spec's. Consider upgrading your RAM to 2gigs. I had a machine very similar to yours where I ran FS9 and adding that additional 1gig of ram made a big difference in overall performance. It would be a simple and inexpensive upgrade...Glad that you found a fix to solve your FS9 graphics problems.Regards, -Robert

PAOB Fokker 50
I just discovered that PAOB (Precision Aerobus) has released a rather nice looking Fokker 50 twin engine turboprop and I'm wondering if anyone has had a chance to try it out yet. If so, what do you think? Heres a link to it at simMarket:http://secure.simmarket.com/paob-fokker-50-fs2004.phtmlPrice seems a wee bit high, but if it's good, I wouldn't mind it so much.regards, Robert

Monitor advice
My trusty 10 yr old 21" Sony trinitron CRT is on its last legs and I am looking for a new LCD monitor to replace it with. I would rather stay with a 4:3 aspect ratio, as I primarily fly 2D and don't want to hassle with resizing bitmaps, etc. I'm also on a budget and am looking to spend a max of $400.00. I've been looking at the HP LP2065 Monitor, 20" but wonder how it would perform with FS9, as the response rate seems to be on the slow side (8ns). Any thoughts?Regards, Robert

Tuning Questions For Nickn
Nick, The last sentence in your post above, you write:"And the AV is also key... NOD 32 (just the AV not their Security Suite product) will protect just fine and leave NO footprint issues on a system. It does NOT need to be shut down to fly"What is this "AV" that you are referring to? Is it this:http://free.avg.com/download-avg-anti-virus-free-edition ?What do you use for Internet Security (if anything)?Regards, Robert

FS Real Time...
...does anybody use this program? If so, does it work as advertised?Does it get along and play well with other programs like Active Sky v6, Radar Contact, PMDG 747-400? How about performance hits?Lots of questions, I know, but I would appreciate hearing about peoples experience before I invest the TIME and money in this product.Regards, Robert

The Greatest....
Here's a list of my top five (oops, six) in my 10+ years of flight simming:Dreamfleet "Greatest Airliners" 737. This is the aircraft that got me into serious simming and will always have a special place in my heart. It prompted me to by the CH yoke and Rudder pedals that I use to this day. Paul Golding's panel layout on this model is brilliant; offering great pilots perspective with easy access to other critical systems. I wish that other developers had followed his example in this. I also felt that the late Ron Freimuth's flight model in this aircraft was the best in its time. FSD Piper Super Cub. Do you guts remember this one? It was a FS2000 creation and was ported over to FS2002. This was the first aircraft that had for me a blend of panel and fight model that gave me the greatest sensation of flight in a desktop sim. It was also the first aircraft that got me in to bush flying.Dreamfleet Piper Archer II. Niels Anderson's plane. I didn't fly any other GA aircraft for a long time after this one got on my hard drive.RealAir SF 260 -well everything that RealAir produced! I discovered the joy of flying out of the V/C on the sf260. Also the Rob Young fight model is probably the best ever on a GA aircraft.PMDG 747-400/400F. Yeah, its the standard in which every thing else is measured. Brilliant effort by a extreamly talented group. It is the first aircraft that I got into using system failures because they are so well modeled. DreamFleet 727. This is it. It's my favorite flight sim aircraft, hands down. If limited to one aircraft, I would choose it. It is simply the most satisfying aircraft to fly. Its also the most over looked and underrated aircraft in flight sim history. A brilliant effort in modeling a steam gauge airliner in every facet. The first aircraft where you could set power by using the EPR gauges using real world charts! -a pet peev of mine. The late Ron Friemuth's flight model swan song. There are so many models and groups that come to mind that I did not mention (MAAM-SIM, Level-D, RFP, etc.). As flight simmers, we have been truly blessed with a great variety of aircraft over the years produced by some incredibly talented people. Anyway, my two cents worth in an very interesting thread.
