FalconAF -Our support site has been up all afternoon, however, it has been extremely busy as you may imagine. This is the first time a user has reported this problem. Please contact our support forum and include your order # and will be happy to help you get things sorted out.
Bill,I'd love to contact your support forum. I finally managed to get registered, but can't get a darn support message to post there. Keep getting the error message you posted a sticky about you all are working on. In the meantime, there needs to be an answer to my question concerning the Net Framework 2.0 problem I posted above and you responded to in your quote above. ESPECIALLY since I managed to read a post in your forum saying something about, "Unfortunatly, SimConnect is only compatable with Net 2.0 at this time." I have Net Framework 3.5 installed on my computer, and have never experienced any other problems relating to FSX because of it. Are you saying that in order to use REX with FSX, I have to DOWNGRADE to Net Framework 2.0? I would like an answer to that as soon as possible, and since I can't post a message in the REX Support Forum due to the forum issues you are experiencing at this time, I hope you will clarify it here. Will REX work with Net Framework 3.5 on a WinXP Service Pack 3 installation? Or is that the reason I am getting the Net Framework errors when running REX, and causing FSX to fail with REX?Thank you for a reply.FalconAFREX Order Number as required in your forum rules is: ORDER 15489

There's a "sticky post" at the top of the list. Says to add it as the first line in your "Signature Block" for your posts. So go to the "User CP" function of your account and add it. Format is : ORDER XXXXX (use the last 5 numbers of your order number...don't include the "zeros" before it. Evidently, they have an automatic "checker" to verify your Order Number. I don't know if the zeros would mess that up or not.FalconAF

Isn't publicly posting an order number generally a bad thing to do? It could be used by someone else to obtain support or maybe a copy of the software.

Thanks

I'm getting a bunch of fatal errors from FSX after having installed a new theme from REX. Happens almost every time I install a new theme - I'll start my flight . . . progress bar reaches 100% and the FSX crashes with fatal error. Very frustrating.
JMR -We will be happy to help you out with the issues you are having on our support forum. From what you are describing it appears that you might need to convert our HD clouds to DXT5 when the Theme creation is implemented.Let me know if that helps. You can also personally email me at: [email protected]

Rick,It's early and the coffee hasn't kicked in yet, so if this makes no sense that's my excuse. The .Net packages don't upgrade or downgrade each other, they are standalone packages. So installing 2.0 won't affect your 3.5, just as 2.0 didn't affect 1.1. And if software is programmed to utilize 2.0 features, since 3.5 isn't an upgrade of 2.0 it doesn't provide the functionality required. At this point I have all three .NET packages installed.HTH!

FalconAF -First I appologize for the inconvience that problems the forums have been having....Believe me trying to respond to users questions have been frunstrating for me as for you, but the traffic has been HUGE, way more than what was expected. In regards the .net 2.0 requirments, we are pretty clear in our system specs that the .net Framework 2.0 was required. That is what REX was built upon and the Simconnect DLL requires that. Now you can still have .net 3.5 installed and there will not be any conflicts. If you need additional help you can contact me directly at: [email protected]

Rstough, thank you, that's exactly what it was. I didn't have DXT5 selected for the HD clouds.

Seems more logical to purchase by dvd.

It's my understanding the the .Net versions are seperate entities.

I havn't been able to load AVSIM for a day and a half. Is it because of all the traffic on this thread?Art :(

OK. I'll give the REX install another try after I get home from work in the morning. Maybe (hopefully) I just had a bad install the first time. Thanks for the response(s).FalconAF

Falcon,I hope you can get it going-the more I get into it the more I am impressed. If there is something we can help you with to troubleshoot, let us who have it working know. The Rex people seem swamped in every way right now, but maybe we can help out in the forum.

WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

I agree with Geofa, the more I mess with it the more impressed I am. I've taken 4 short flights with it so far. And now I'm playing with a network installed version since I've decided to keep it. So far I haven't had any issue, besides the typical download/validation issues everyone else has had. But thanks to Adrian at FlightSim Store and a few replies from the REX team I have gotten everything else has went pretty striaght forward. Tomorrow it's time to throw together another home server for myself, upgrading of sorts, with old parts and I plan on throwing together quite a setup with REX being the center stone.

Hey bud, I'd *really* like to know the steps you run through to set up a networked FSX server as my FPS with all my mods, including the PMDG MD-11 are in the toilet and offloading to a server is bound to substantially improve FPS AFAIK.
