October 23, 200916 yr On the rwy and circling the airport at 1000ft in spot view looking at the airport. With moving jetways - 7fps 25 FPS at KORD with 100% commercial. That is really really really good. Was that on the ground or on approach? At 80% commercial there I am at 13-15FPS and it is not smooth at all. You are very lucky! November 29, 200916 yr Hello, I know this might come a bit late but to answer the question if UT2 works on a network ie client pc, it's not possible, unfortunately, i asked this at the UT forums a while back b4 buying the program.hope it helpsrgds
November 29, 200916 yr Thanks. I posted the same question over there a while ago. As an update, I ended up purchasing UT2 a while ago. I was a big fan of the classic version and purchasing something else just didn't seem right. For FS9, I considered UT to be the "ai enthusiasts" traffic program and I think UT2 will be the same once they get a few kinks out of it. They are releasing a beta version SP1 to the registered users in the next few days and from what I have read, they rewrote 50% of the code and added several features. One of the main things the addressed is the problem with performance during traffic injection. Another thing the mentioned is it may have the ability to limit the amount of ai aircraft injected to maintain a specific frame rate. The actual feature list has not been relesed yet but they say it is quite extensive - almost a new program. For me, UT2 works relatively well as it is. Some can't get it working at all and I would guess that it is the result of a funky FSX/UT2/Simconnect install. As for frames rates, you will get the same FPS with WofAI if you have the same amount of aircraft on the ground at the same time. They use the same models. Where you will see a fps drop is when traffic loads. In fact, you will have a pause. I only experience those pauses when the flight first loads. I guess the point of this update isIf you are on the fence about traffic programs, wait a few days and reevaluate UT2. It may be the case that everything you have read about UT2 up until now will be completely irrelevant. November 30, 200916 yr Yeah but they still haven't used FSX native models so I cant see how the most important factor 'general performance' is going to improve.Edit: Is see they are adding a lot of user selectable tweaks to service pack 1 though to improve performance so it may improve slightly more than I envisaged. Cheers, Andy.
