I've been looking at UT2's site, and the forums, but I haven't seen these questions asked:1) Does this product allow you to add aircraft? For instance, I may want my Aeroperlas Shorts 360's flying around Panama. If UT2 doesn't ship with this aircraft, am I out of luck using this aircraft and my paint with UT2?2) Is there a list of the airlines included? (and kind of a moot point if I can do #1)
1) Yes - today I added the Just Flight TrafficX VC10 as a native UT2 aircraft with a native UT2 schedule.RegardsSimon

I am running with 100% airline and have better FPS and no go-arounds, since switching to UT2 from WOAI.
Good point on starting flight with default Cessna and switching to another choice aircraft. I misunderstood the issue wrt Helicopters and missing AI. If I understand, you have eliminated all of your custom AI made by WOAI, but do you still have any custom military AI or mix of custom GA flights? Keith

RE the helo bug causing the AI not to show, I noticed a really weird bug even in the latest patched release of UT2. If I leave the battery switched off in the 'Dodosim 206B FSX' UT2 traffic wont show, as soon as I turn the battery on you can hear the HDD start thrashing then the UT2 traffic appears. If I leave the battery off the traffic will not load at all. Seems to me like there is some weird power interdependency. Default FSX helicopters dont need the battery to be switched on to supply power to the avionics and systems when the engine is running so the battery being switched off can be hard to spot until you turn off the fuel supply. Give it a try it doesn't cost anything :(

Cheers, Andy.

Keith, the short answer is that I have eliminated all my WOAI flight plans except for the cargo flight plans that weren't included in UT2. However I have left all my WOAI models and textures installed so that I could use them for ones that UT2 didn't include textures for. An example is Insel Air International. UT2 included the flight plans for this carrier but didn't provide the paints for it. They used the default UT2 textures assigned to this carrier. I went in and reassigned the textures to the WOAI Insel Air models, rather than have the Insel Air a/c show up in FSX with the UT2 paints. Just make sure when you assign the WOAI paints that you also eliminate the UT2 paint at the same time. Otherwise, UT2 will use the WOAI paint and the UT2 default paint as well for some flights. Also I went to the WOAI website, sorted the packages by carrier name in alphabetical order, scrolled down to the cargo carriers area, then opened the UT2 UI and manually sorted thru all the carriers to see which cargo carriers UT2 didn't include, that way I knew which WOAI flight plans to leave in FSX. Also the ones that UT2 did include I checked all the models to make sure they all had correct paints assigned. Most did but some were assigned the default UT2 paints. In those cases, I assigned the missing paints to WOAI models.Lastly, I went to the printable time table menu, selected a bunch of airports that I frequent, generated PDFs for them, then checked all the carriers that flew into them to make sure all those carriers had paints assigned. A bit of work yes, but I am trying to fill in any missing textures so that I don't see airlines in my frequently visited airports with ficticious paints. An example from using the PDF's is St. Marteen airport. I saw that Insel Air and Corsair had flights into TNCM, but neither carrier had paints. So I assigned the paints from the WOAI packages. When doing this I also have the WOAI installer open in the expert mode where it lists all the carriers WOAI installed and what models they used for each carrier. That was using the UT2 UI I can easily find the model to assign the paint from. Otherwise it would be a nightmare sorting thur all the models in the UT2 UI to find textures.BTW, I am not using the WOAI military packages. In the beginning I was using them, but they assigned FS9 AFCAD's for the military bases that caused me some problems in FSX, so I eliminated the flight plans but left the models in case I want to find FSX ADE's for those AFCAD's later. To be honest military AI is not that important to me so I haven't done anything with it since I took out the flight plans. One other thing to consider is that using the WOAI paints for missing UT2 ones is that the WOAI paints aren't DX10 compatable. This is a non issue for me since I don't use DX10, but all the UT2 models and paints are DX10 compliant.Hope this info helps.

Thank you again for sharing knowledge. One thing I have always been interested in with regards to realism, is not so much volume of world-wide air traffic, but realistic air traffic where I fly or have flown in real-world. Over the years I have spent a lot of time trying to scale down my AI to just cover my favorite locations. This also includes customized military AI flights as well. Keith

I'm not using UT2, but WOAI and can confirm that the military packages are designed for FS9 with included FS9 afcads, etc. There is a workaround of mainly removing the Afcads and associated scenery files after installing the packages. This allows the flightplans and aircraft/paints to still be used in FSX. I also have other military traffic such as the Sotheast ANG packages in my FSX. You will not see any of these military flights on the ground at military airports unless you install FSX afcads/airports for them as FSX doesn't include any parking in the default military airports. You can see military flights in the air and hear them on ATC along your journeys though. And if you have miltary airports near where you fly it's worthwhile to hunt down FSX airports for them.

Great! ThanksI'll have to rework all the packages I made, with this new non-Great Circle AI routing it has.

I think thats really cool that the AI finally flies flight plans!! so now I can travel the real world routing and have the AI follow it too!! but no cargo airlines in ut2? #####? even ut had fedex and ups schedules. even out of date or guessing would be fine by me. at least be in there

The lack of the cargo airlines is a bummer, but easily to work around by just keeping the WOAI cargo carriers for the ones UT2 doesn't have. UT2 does have some cargo, just not all of them. They stated that it was because they source they use to get all the schedules doesn't have schedules for some cargo carriers like FedEx and UPS. I do recall one of the Tom's from UT2 saying that they may consider adding more cargo carriers in a future update based on fictional flight plans since FedEx and UPS don't publish schedules, thats the best they can do. They also are planning on adding an update down the road for military traffic.

I can only speak for MT5.2. Loved that and thought it was 'better' back then when I first bought it compared to what else was available. But have to admit that UT2 raised the bar. Installation is a flawless 1-click and no tampering with scenery indexes a la MT. The user interface - if you need it at all - is just fine and much 'rounder' than the DOS style oldish looking MT GUI but that's - like everything else - a very personal feeling. Aircraft models and textures are better and nonetheless not more or even less frame rate hungry than MT. I can have the commercial traffic set higher (at 95%) than with MT and still get at least the same performance. But with UT2 I have also the GA traffic at 60%. In short: I love it (though some more last tests are outstanding, US airports and a 'real' flight from A to :( , see also my post in the prelim AVSIM forum (as LH4371) at My other post.Phil
I was using UT fsx and just uninstalled it once frame rates drop about 7 frps at NY Kennedy (9 fr with UTX vs 16 fr once UTX was uninstalled). With UT2 it would be better? Now FSX ai traffic works only for GA (for airlines doesn't work in any percentage). What should I do to get FSX original ai traffic workimg properly again?Could you help me?Tks,Ricardovista premium 64; notebook asus g51vx-x2a full HD; core duo 2.8 mgz; ge force gtx 260m 1gb; 4MB RAM; 320 GB HD 7200

I have a problem with frame rates KLGA as well. I am using mostly WOAI packages and a personal GA package that I build over time with an effort to see specific tail numbers at specific airports and various MAIW packages. Overall I am getting close to buying UT II to avoid mixing FS9 schedules with FSX schedules. Along the lines of a previous post, I recently encountered an issue with a collection of AFCADs not the schedules that I have concluded are causing all planes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area to not show at all. I know that UT II does not load AFCADs but I will still need to isolate the problem airports and ensure everything is consistent.

Has anyone figured out whether you can run UT2 from a networked computer? Or can you asasign it to a different core? This seems like the real advantage to having traffic run outside of FS. I asked in two threads in the UT2 forum and received no answer.

IMO traffic software should be unobtrusive. UTX pretty much meets that criteria. We don't want to spend alot of time these type tools. But with UTX II you can if you want to.The nicest eye-candy is a world map with air traffic from the fsx world. Really cool if you like to watch. The only downer for me was that some of the models are FS98ish.jja

Well I bought it. I knew I was going to - the original was fantastic.I must say it was definitly flyable. I got 25fps with 100% commerical at FSdreamteams KORD. Stay away from the moving jetways - FPS hog (7fps).Question: Are the moving jetways just a problem for a short time - while they are connecting?BTW, I tried setting affinityFSx-0,2,3UT2-1FPS were better with all 4 running both programs.

25 FPS at KORD with 100% commercial. That is really really really good. Was that on the ground or on approach? At 80% commercial there I am at 13-15FPS and it is not smooth at all. You are very lucky!
