You're the C9/FSDT guy ranting about antipiracy measures a couple of weeks ago!! :( Shouldn't you be developping new addons, setting rediculous prices for them and offering no support whatsoever to your customers?? :( You know, I'll happily install stuff by brilliant freeware designers like Rick Piper or Dave Garwood, but spending my hard earned cash on your crap?Nah, I don't think so! No, addons develop automatically, that's why people like you are probably no regrets stealing them. And of course, "everybody" knows that we don't offer any support. Isn't that obvious ? Moreover, we have a monkey that sets the "rediculous" price by randomly typing numbers on a keyboard...everybody knows that.

What I found to be most shocking is that you are 1 year older than me, yet you reasoning like a 13-years old. The fact that is entertainment/hobby for you, doesn't mean that is not work for those that are producing it. I wonder how you would react (since you said you work in IT), if your boss would tell you to work on a project targeted to "people that do hard work and love the hobby", and then you will have to work for free.

Wow, the tired old saw about justifying theft because "the evil developers" are the real the pirates has grown extremely thin...The flawed logic and justifications for theft does give one a headache.Again, our best hope for the future is effective paradigms which, when implimented, actually cause thieves to be unable to take advantage of vulnerabilities or provide useable software to their constituents. :( If in the hacking process, their little pinheads were to explode, that would certainly be the "gravy on the potatoes" :(

Fact is that there is a lot of greed going on in the FS world: if an addon is released (by Warbirdsim for instance) that costs allmost as much as the full sim, then that is greed.

NO ONE NEEDS FS TO LIVE! greed in the sense of FS, a game, or an addon is not logical. if the price is out of line the market will correct.if you don't want to pay the price THEN DON'T BUY! don't steal! trust me ... you will live just fine without the addon (or FS for that matter).--

Thanks for re-opening. I have found this to be fascinating reading. Even when it takes a hard right-turn from the topic it has been a learning lesson in hearing from all points of view on the subject both from the simmers point of view, the developers, and even a few from the "dark side" of our hobby. I think everyone knows taking or downloading something that they didn't pay for isn't right, fair, or justifiablebut it's why the "No Trespassing" sign has to be writen in so many different ways.
