August 29, 200916 yr Just browsed the website and discovered Captain Sim has released 1.2 I have not downloaded the sp yet but hope to see some of the fixes we have asked for. Keith Guillory

August 29, 200916 yr How does the CS 767, now with 1.2, compare with the LDS in frames? I like the LDS but its getting rather old now... Kael Oswald 9950X3D/ 64GB DDR5 6200 @ CL30 / Custom Water Loop / RTX 5090 / 3 x 48" LG C4 OLEDs
August 29, 200916 yr Author So far I only did a quick scan to look over the cockpit. One noticeable change is the interior sounds from the engines are not nearly as loud as previous release. The only engine sounds are General Electric and the others are aliased to this folder. I also downloaded each of the manuals (5 total pdf files) and along with the study materials on SmartCockpit http://www.smartcockpit.com/plane/boeing/B767/ I will have a lot of learning to do.I elected to stay with my TSS payware sounds for GE, RR, PW engines and will continue to learn the aircraft. August 29, 200916 yr Kudos to CS.IMO, they today really belong to the "Top 3" with PMDG and LDS.Their 767-300 is a serious piece of software, graphically perfect, well coded, well simulated systems and a real pleasure to fly. - PC Hardware: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D // Asus ROG Crosshair X870E HERO // 2x32Gb Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5 6000MT/s CL30 // ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 OC Edition // 4Tb Corsair NVMe M.2 MP600 // Corsair 1600W PSU Samsung Odyssey Arc 55" curved 165 Hz monitor. - Simulator Hardware: VIRPIL Constellation Alpha Prime + VIRPIL VPC Universal Control Panel - #3 + MOZA AY210 Force Feedback Yoke + WINWING URSA MINOR 32 Throttle & PAC Metal + WINWING SKYWALKER Metal Rudder Pedals + WINWING Airbus FCU & EFIS + WINWING Boeing 3N PAP + WINWING MCDU-32 + WINWING PFP-4 + WINWING PFP 3-N + WINWING PFP-7.
August 29, 200916 yr Glad to hear this good news! Not bought it yet, because I'm actually waiting for Tim Capps's review. How goes it Tim? August 29, 200916 yr The Vc is nearly as good as PMDG standard, but the VC textures are a bit too faded. If you like cabin views, then its one of the best.I am not big on manuals, was able to do takeoff, cruise , ils land. ILS works very similar to PMDG 747 with Autotune of ils frequency and course.I have also opted for TSS sound, even though the new 1.2 sound is far better than that ear drum bursting stuff we had before.Very good exterior views, and even the RAt system works. If you have used a few planes with complex systems like PMDG , even wilco, then you dont really need to read much before you can use this plane in basic flight.

Very inconsiderate of reviewers.A lot of the 757 comments still apply though, and that would include being challenging on frame rates. So you might have to make a few more compromises if your system isn't state of the art.
August 29, 200916 yr I feel like CS is dangling this 767 in front of me. They pushed out 2 updates in a very short time to fix bugs and make the plane even harder to resist. I've been patient, waiting for improvements and it seems like its where I'm comfortable to make a sound purchase now. Christopher Edwards

I am really taking my time learning this and the 757. So far I have not flown a full flight. I'm learning the books first. I'm also enjoying the walk throughout the inside. We just need the smell of coffee and fuel.I'm hoping for retrofit glass cockpits and the 767-400 soon. Keith Guillory

Although I manage to run FSX at FPS of approaching thirties, I fear of what will happen when I load up a CS aircraft... August 29, 200916 yr Although I love the CS767 and it's my current favourite add-on, those considering purchase may want to hold off a while longer.Version 1.1 has introduced a bug for me - and at least two other people I know of, where about 5 hours into a long haul flight the engines fail and cannot be restarted, and the aircraft veers off LNAV course and ultimately plunges into the ground/sea. Version 1.2 still has this bug. Version 1.0 did not.So this lovely aircraft is currently a big tube for flying people around in for less than 5 hours at the moment, still fun for sure, but those long Atlantic crossings are out of the question unless you want to get wet.Hopefully they narrow down the issue and nail it in patch 1.3. Now that's unselfish dedication :-DHard to say how widespread the problem is. I am in the middle of a frantic backup since Vista64 is obviously going unstable on me for whatever reason. I can't format my external hardrive and am transferring everything to about 50 CD-Rs. I am planning on a reinstall of FSX at the very least (and everything else that goes with it). But at least I'll have a fresh install to try the 767 out with.
August 30, 200916 yr I think they should fix my cabin altitude issue on my 757. 14 thousand feet at 37000. Unairworthy!
