hi All,for those who are interested and wanna have a look, (hope i don't get slammed for this) www.flightsim.com now has a dedicated FSCOF forum with some screen shots posted by one of the beta testers. he's running a P4 3ghz with a Radeon 9800(128mb version). "Warning"...if you look at ALL of the screen shots and own a p4 3gig machine you may be a little dissapointed as i was when you see the fps in a few of the shots. happy flyin, fm

avsim already shut down a post to a competeting site (their words)...I expect this one to go down say, within 15 minutes.:-)

CPU: Core i5-6600K 4 core (3.5GHz) - overclock to 4.3 | RAM: (1066 MHz) 16GB
MOBO: ASUS Z170 Pro |  GeForce GTX 1070 8GB | MONITOR: 2560 X 1440 2K

Hey Mike,The interesting thing is I've seen close to a dozen posts on the Flightsim.com FS Forum and their Screeshot Forum refering people to Avsim for downloads and to view screen shots. None of those posts were removed. Like I said - interesting - that's it, that's all.Mikehttp://www.members.shaw.ca/madamo/boeingsig.jpg

Those shots were taken by Nels, who runs flightsim.com - I believe the first series of shots (like the ones with the MAAM B-25 that show only 2-3 FPS were done on his OLD PC (800Mhz) and not on the new one he just got (the 3Ghz R9800). I'm gonna buy a new system as soon as FS2004 has a confirmed release date and I'm gonna be more than happy with a 24FPS lock with the kind of visuals he was getting on those KBOS departure shots.Ryan

Hey FM!!Thanks for the link!Warning"...if you look at ALL of the screen shots and own a p4 3gig machine you may be a little dissapointed as i was when you see the fps in a few of the shots.Just to clear up a little confusion on those screen shots. The set of screen shots of MAMM's Briefing Time was taken on Nel's old system which was a P3 800Mhz. The newer set of pictures in the FS2004 - Dusk Departure thread was taken on Nel's new system. The FPS counter on the Mamm post shows the FPS locked at 15 whereas the FS2004 - Dusk Departure post has the FPS locked at 25 and by the looks of it, the FPS stay very close to the 25 limit.Take Care!!Mikehttp://www.members.shaw.ca/madamo/boeingsig.jpg

I think Nels has one of the "press copies", not the beta.

Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. Klaatu barada nickto.

We need to keep in mind that everyone's mileage as regards frame rates will vary. I believe this will be even more so the case with FS2004 than it was in FS2002. As has been pointed out numerous times previously, there are quite a few features that can be turned down or off with minimal impact upon both image quality and the immersion factor. Given that FS2004 considerably expands on both functionality and eye candy over FS2002, I firmly believe that feature for feature FS2004 will run at least as well as FS2002 does. I can think of quite a few features in FS2004 that would cripple my machine's performance. I'll simply turn them off for the time being.

If there's a FSCOF Forum over there they've hidden it really, really well. Where did you find it?Steve

What FSCOF forum, i sure cant see it, maybe i need new glasses :)OHN

Nels always creates a separate forum for each new sim (to each his own), and yes, he does have a press copy and can legally post screen shots. As to the new forum, it is the 3rd one down on the list, and yes, the new sim from FS is named Flight Simulator 2004 (FS2004 for short), in addition to "ACOF". In fact, if you look at the photo of the box on the main page of AVSIM (right side, near the top), you will see the text "Flight Simulator 2004" is very large and prominent, while the text for "ACOF" is underneath it, smaller and not quite as visible. Looks like it's very much "FS2004" to the folks at MS also.Obviously the new forum is named "FS2004". :-)http://www.flightsimnetwork.com/cgi/dcforum/dcboard.cgiRegards,Lou

Oh yes now i see it, offcourse i searched for the FS2004 forum at the link the author of this thread provided, and didnt find anyting, well maybe its just me that doesnt understand the structure of that site.OHN
