I have not had time to test the MD11 again yet but I did notice one thing in the FS menu. I have Enable Automixture checked, could this be related at all?Andy S

Probably not, that is a piston feature.

When I load a panel state the first thing I do now is go through each of my axis's and move them up then down again so they reset in FSX. Reason for doing this, is that if I don't and I continue with start up I will usually kill all three engines with an accidental bump of my mixture lever. It happens 100% of the time. All I need to do is tap it and my engines die. I have forgot about it and managed to get well along my travels and hit it and same thing happens. I was going to mention this a few days ago but was hesitant due to the original post of it happening at the same exact time... Anywho, hope this helps. Speaking of which, I think I'll disable that thing right now,,, not like I fly the C172 much anymore. Would if PMDG would revamp it perhaps.

Does moving them reset the axies in FS9 or is it just an FSX thing? I don't have a mixture lever set on ny joystick (at least I don't think I do). Do you think I should dissable Aut Mixture anyway?Andy S

I don't have FS9 so can't say on that. I'd give it try, it can't hurt but think we would have heard more of that if it were the case. Give it a shot and see what happens. Another post recommended renaming the FSUIPC.ini. One thing I noticed is that when I when I went into axis's, and first moved my Flap lever (Axis Z) that the first time I moved it, FSUIPC thought it was my Mixture Axis (Axis Y), sooo the times I thought I just bumped my Mixture, may have been when I was using my flaps and FSUIPC sent the wrong command? So either way, I think Mixture may be the problem, and I also have automixture enabled. I'm not able to test anything until I'm home in front of the sim, but will later. It would be nice if someone reading this that does not have this problem could set up a mixture axis, and enable automix, and see if they can reproduce engine shut down this way.

So it worked for me few flights after complete reinstalling FSX. Now same prob again. Happens on both engines GE and PW.But im sure we get slowly closer... Why?I unplugged my joke (Logitech Attack 3) for a flight and didnt had this problem. Somehow i think thats the prob. But i dont have automixture on or something like that.Only thing i have configured to my joke is the Autothrust, the autopilot dissengage and the flaps. Its strange becuase i use this joke scince long long time and never had this problem. I was wrong in my reply where I said I had auto mixture on. I do not. I haven't had this problem since I removed the my mixture lever from my FSX Control settings. It is interfering if at all touched. I was having the problem often and I have not for about 15 flights straight. I haven't had time yet to set it up with FSUIPC but imagine no matter how it's set up it will cause the reaction it's getting/giving. Since I don't fly the light planes much anymore I haven't bothered. What is happening is with the Mixture axis enabled it has a set numbers of max high and max low. When you load a flight the Axis hasn't moved so all is good. Once it moves, it re-awakens FSX to the lever and for a second or so, gives the data of it's position. It's like cutting the mixture in a cessna, it will kill the engine. When these values are introduced upon movement they also kill the Jet engines. I will try to test it out with FSUIPC later tonight and see if this changes anything. Perhaps appying a bit of a dead zone may help. Also, when you unplug and replug in a USB device with FSX running, it see's it as a new device. This will often cause it to reset all it's default assignments to it. Make sure to check your setting when this happens. You can see this in the FSX.cfg with all the duplicate entries.

Rgr i think u made me understanding it a bit better :)But i never had any mixture options on. Never on my joke and never in fsx realism settings. If you find out more could you pls tell me step by step what i have to do?Ty very much Dan :)Frank Keil

When this occurs are you using any sort of "TIME COMPRESSION" you know fast forwarding your flight at all. I had the same issue just last night, I never use TC but yesterday I lost a flight due to an fsx crash, I started the flight again and used TC to get to where I left off (8x), and had the exact same thing, there were no temp problems at all, just the three oil lights and eventually my engines started to shutdown.

Ok i made more long test. I get the eng oil pres low even with unplugged joystick. Im totally out of ideas now :(

Hello!I have exactly the same problem (FS9) - "Oil Pres Low" warning comes on usually 40-45min after departure and then engine flameout, overspeed etc. This never happend in Windows XP, but after upgrading to Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, the PMDG MD-11 is unflyable. Is there solution for this problem? Has PMDG MD-11 been even tested in Windows 7 64-bit?Best Wishes!
