What addons do YOU have?

Hi Krister,Re you being unable to install eaglesoft under w7 64, I just bought the citation x 2.0 and installed it with w7 64. I found I had to turn my AVG antivirus off as that was under the impression the exe file was a virus, then it installed fine.I hope you get it installed as it's a great little jet, I'm having real fun with it.CheersJon Bunting
Jon, thanx for the feedback. However, it's the older version of the plane and it's probably related to the installer from Flight1 in combination with Windows 7 64 bit. I had the same issue with at least the DF727 and some other aircraft and the cure was to download an updated installation file. Anyway I have my hands full with the aircraft I have running and instead standing by for Eaglesoft releasing that Cessna CJ1+ Extreme 2 with FMS!/Krister

I would like to add FS2Crew, all versions, especially the new Voice ones. Once you fly with FS2Crew, you will never want to go back. So much fun, much more realistic.

I posted a video some time ago on youtube showing some of my add ons:

I have purchased a few more stuff since then, including FS altitude Eastern USA, REX 2.0, Ezdock camera add on and Multi-Crew experience (which is now fully compatible with the PMDG 747)

REX reduces my FPS too much to fly smoothly so I deinstalled it, unfortunately. But I've REX here next to me and maybe I can give it a re-try if anybodyhas some tweaks or tips? :D

The 1024 clouds from REX really should not be reducing your FPS. Perhaps you have Active Sky depicting too many cloud layers or something? If so, try reducing the layers to 2 or 3 or use REX's weather generator instead.

I have to agree. REX did not put a dent in my fps. What did was Active Sky having 15 cloud layers. That will do it. Reduce the cloud layers, reduce the cloud draw distance in the FSX settings down, all the way to minimum, that helps a lot in FPS as well.

Hi allThanks to everybody who's replied, and especially to Turbine777, for creating a very useful thread! I've been away from the FS community for quite a few years, as I've been using notebooks that weren't really up to the graphical demands. I've recently switched back to a fairly powerful desktop, and am like a child on Christmas with all the possibilities in FSX, since it's totally new to me. ;-)So far, I'm relatively stock. FSX Gold with PMDG 747-400X, a couple of extra liveries, FlyTampa's Hong Kong / Kai Tak scenery, EditVoicePack to improve the ATC chatter, and I've run Bojote's tweaking tool, which has improved my frame rates quite a bit. (Sure I've still got more tweaking to do though, as I still have some occasional graphical glitches -- rapidly flickering clouds, plane occasionally casting a shadow through itself, 'S' key occasionally stops letting me access any views except spot and cockpit for lengthy periods, then just as suddenly starts working again.)I'm looking to add to my experience, and this thread has given me some great suggestions. Things I'd specifically like to have are:* Flight planning software* More up-to-date waypoints, SIDs, and STARs which are available both for flight planning and to the PMDG FMC* Some kind of weather radar, since the PMDG model lacks this* Realistic AI traffic which integrates properly with ATC and TCAS* More realistic scenery globally -- I've lived all over the world, and hence I don't really focus on any one continent for my virtual trips, either. Asia, Oceania, Europe and North America are all common destinations, and I'd like to try more destinations, so want to have good quality scenery everywhere.* Prettier visuals in other areas -- clouds, sky, etc.I'm considering FSGlobal 2010 for an improved global mesh, since I want to be able to fly pretty much anywhere. For AI Traffic, it seems the consensus is that if I want realistic traffic and reasonably attractive AI models, Ultimate Traffic 2 is a good choice. REX seems unviersally well-recommended, and seems like it might solve some of my other desires beyond just weather, but before purchasing, I wanted to be sure I understood what I was potentially going to get.* The reviews and manual (FS2004 only, I can't find an FSX one) suggest that it includes flight planning capabilities. Can this integrate with the PMDG 747-400X FMC, or would I'd need to manually reenter flight plans if I relied on REX to create these?* REX seems to include something akin to a weather radar, called WASys. Does this allow me in some way to see my flight plan, and make adjustmens to my route during the flight, to avoid weather?* Am I correct in thinking that as well as improving weather modeling, REX will apply nicer textures for water and at airports? I'd still need something else to pretty up scenery elsewhere, though, right? If so, is there anything that would improve autogen scenery globally? GEX and UTX seem to lack much of the world which is important to me, especially Asia. Any recommendations?* If REX wouldn't suffice to provide weather radar and flight planning, what would be my best-bet solutions that would integrate nicely with my PMDG 747-400X and Flight Sim's own ATC?Also, are there any potential compatibility issues between any of the above, which I'd want to be aware of? And what's the best method of obtaining at least reasonably up-to-date nav data (waypoints, SIDs, STARs) without breaking the bank on top of the above? Thanks in advance to anybody who has the time to help an enthusiastic newbie. ;-)

Lets just all agree that the Abacus 787 is one of the worst fs payware products ever. Thats all I got to say.

The only add-on I have so far is the FSLabs Concorde-X, but I'll will purchase the NGX and FS2Crew 737NGX as soon as they release.

I have Wilco 777 737 and Captain Sim 767-200/300 Airbus X E jets Wilco Rex.02 Orbx airports And i will buy the 737NGX wan its release. :(

Since my post quoted below, I've gone ahead and purchased another aircraft model, this time for the FeelThere ERJ v.2. This does include weather radar capabilities, which rely on my having FSUIPC Registered, so that's definitely next on my purchase list.I've yet to get any feedback on my post, though, and am still stuck trying to decide between REX and ASE for weather. Also trying to decide whether Ultimate Traffic II or something else is my best choice for AI traffic. Finally, trying to determine what my best bet is to upgrade scenery globally -- FsGlobal 2010 seems well-reviewed for base mesh, what are my options to improve autogen quality worldwide?Any advice anybody owning these products (or their competitors) can offer is greatly appreciated. More detailed questions about all this are in my quote below...
