While its nice to see this thread make a comeback, I would also add that this thread probably cost me north of $300.

Out of my memory, these are some of the aircrafs and utilities I have for FS9. I also have a number for FSX but since I don't use it... The sceneries I didn't bother to list... Way too much money spent obviously and many of the airplanes I rarely touch anymore although they may be incredible add-ons. I put an asterix behind the ones I would purchase again, knowing what I use and don't use today. Eg Radar Contact 4 is a very nice program but I always fly on VATSIM nowadays, so therefore I wouldn't buy it again...PMDG MD11 *PMDG 747 *PMDG 1900CPMDG 1900DPMDG 737 * LevelD 767 * DA Fokker 70/100 * DA DO-27DA NavajoF1 ATR * F1 727 *F1 MeridianF1 172F1 Piper DakotaF1 Piper Archer IIIF1 BonazaFFS 340 *Aeroworx B200 *Realair Spitfire *Realair SF260 *Realair Scout *Wilco 737 *Wilco ERJ v2 *Wilco CRJMaddog 2008 *Eaglesoft Citation X (Can't get any Eaglesoft to install under Windows 7 64 bit)Eaglesoft CIIEaglesoft Beechjet 400Eaglesoft CJ1Eaglesoft Premier 1Eaglesoft Cirrus SR22iFly737 *Carenado 152Carenado 172 *Carenado 182Carenado 206 *Captain Sim 757Qualitywings 757UtilitiesFSNavigatorFSCommander *FS Build *Active Sky Evolution *REX2 *Ground Environment Pro *Flight Environment ProVroute Pro *TopcatFS Flightkeeper *FS2Crew 767 voice edition *FS2Crew PMDG 737 voice editionFS2crew MD11 *FS2Crew MD82 Voice edition *Navigraph *FSUIPC *WideFS *Radar Contact 4Active Camera

I cannot recommend to you enough REX. You should really make this your next FSX purchase, you will not regret it.

Boy is this going to be a long post, but here it goes!FSX "Engine" Add-on'sFSUIPC is my #1 add-on. I only caved in, and bought it a few months ago. It has made tremendous difference in the spontaneous weather shifts and such, as Dan has mentioned already. I might have to take your advice and get ASA.. I have shied away from getting it, but the weather definately leaves a lot to be desired.Flight 1's FEX. I love what the program has done for the sunsets, clouds, and water textures. At some point I am sure I will upgrade to REX eventually though.Flight 1's GEX/UTX North America (Canada & USA). Huge improvement to the default mesh, and ground textures. My home actually looks more like where I live than just a generic land mass with stuff randomly sprinkled everywhere. Woundn't fly without it. Helictopter True Realism (HTR) is a freeware program, but something a rotor head cannot live without. It actually will simulate retreating blade stall, and overall the feel is way better than the original engine. Download it and try it with just the stock Bell 206 or R-22 and you will see.Nick C's mods, and countless other .cfg modifications.. Has helped with the stutters. Ryan (Tabs) has also made a lot of recommendations like the HighMEM fix that works very well. Add-on BirdsA2A's Accu-sim Birds (B377, B-17, J-3, P-47D). I cannot speak enough for these add-ons. For warbirds these are the best things going right now in our community in my opinion. If I am looking to do fun flying that is what I turn to.PMDG's birds, MD-11X, 744X, J-41. I am sure if you are reading this post in their forum that you know about their aircraft, and what they have to offer. If you are waiting on the fence though for the NGX I highly recommend buying any of the previous birds. A lot to offer in terms of simulation, and fidelity. VRS F/A-18E for FSX. Best modern military aircraft in my hangar.. You can configure any of the 11 weapons stations with ANY combo of weapons available on the real bird. Whenever the come out with the TAC Pack (enable A/A combat between 2 users using the F/A-18E add-on), and then the PRO Pack (adding even more realism, and detail to the flight model!) this bird will probably be the #1 military jet in my hangar. MAYBE A2A's upcoming Accu-sim F-4 Phantom may take that away, but only time will tell. Since they helped make this bird with VRS I have very high hopes. :( Milviz & Nemeth Designs aircraft. I am not going to toot our own horn in here, but I love our add-on's as well. Is all I am going to say about that since I have bias, lol.FS Labs Concorde X is a blast and a half to fly. Definately extremely challenging and requires reading every page of the flight manual. I still cannot fly it without the VFE enabled as I get confused trying to balance out the fuel load when transitioning into the different supersonic modes. Aerosoft Hughes H-1B, and Catalina X. Love both, and fun to fly. Not many systems as they are ancient. The Cat opens up a lot of options though being an amphib, and flew it around the virtual world once. Just Flight P-38 Lightning Pack. Flown this bird around the world also, and had fun doing it. Ever since we made our own P-38 with FSD though it has sat in the hangar collecting dust. It is still an impeccable add-on, and a great value for the $$ though. Captainsim C-130X and 757 Pro. C-130 is awesome, I only have packs I and II. 757 is ok, but does not hold a candle to the PMDG products. I still fly that until NGX comes out, and then I am swapping over. RSR has had me thinking about the 707 though. I didn't pay that add-on much though, but if it is acceptable to him it must be good.

I cannot recommend to you enough REX. You should really make this your next FSX purchase, you will not regret it.
I take your word! My birthday is next week, so it'll be a nice gift. But, let me aks you. I usually get 17-20 FPS on my laptop. Will REX have a big influence on my frames?
but i am astonded you dont have a PMDG product! :)
I used to have the Queen of the Skies, but unfortunately I did not have time to fly the long-747 flights. I loved the graphics, and the performance, but I decided to sell it and save the money for the NGX. Regards,

Hi Krister,Re you being unable to install eaglesoft under w7 64, I just bought the citation x 2.0 and installed it with w7 64. I found I had to turn my AVG antivirus off as that was under the impression the exe file was a virus, then it installed fine.I hope you get it installed as it's a great little jet, I'm having real fun with it.My latest add on is fsx booster.... I know this has had some bad press on these forums but all I can say is this...I have a saved flight I use as a benchmark to keep track on how my rig is behaving , it's basically the pmdg 747 turning over Liverpool towards WAL vor with horizon gen x scenery, uk 2000 airports and scattered REX clouds, I call it 24 fps , because that's what I normally get, that way I can tell is something I've recently added is slowing things down, as was the case when I added GEX and UTX Europe .Anyway, after running fsx booster my fps now bounce between 28-40 with an average settling about 34, that's 15 dollars well spent in my book.CheersJon Bunting
