Hello Jim,Thanks for those, amazing repaints esecially the FAF which is really cool. It fits in so well at the military air bases in France. I have been looking at software to try and do some repainting myself although it does look quite difficult. I have had a look at a few tutorials just get a feel of it, may I ask what software you tend to use? thats if you don't mind I guess, don't want to steal any trade secrets.Have a good day.best regards,Harry :(

Hi HarryGlad to hear that she was what you were after, and thanks for the kind comments they really are appreciated, as for repainting I think that you will find that almost all repainters share the tips and tricks that they have learnt without any problems so that’s never an issue, in fact there is a very good tutorial right here in the general forum by Dan Prunier (Turbine777), that is well worth looking into if you are thinking of joining the ranks, as for the software I use, the main program is Photoshop, with DXTBmp for doing the tweaking of the Alpha layers, and not often but still usable is Paintshop Pro, you can find some freeware programs that are up to the job as well, the one that comes to mind is GIMP, and although I have never used it myself I have heard some good reports about its repainting abilities so it may be worth a look.Well that’s about it really, as I say take a look at the tutorial though before you plunge into repainting, it could save a lot of frustration that may possibly make you want to give up.Take care, and have fun.Jim Hodkinson

Hello Folks,A BIG THANKS to hodge001 for all the nice repaints but especially the terrific Armée de l'Air repaint:Applause: :( Cheers,

Hi YvesThank you very much for both taking the time out to provide some feedback and for those extreamley kind words, both really are appreciated.Jim Hodkinson

Hey Jim,I know how difficult is to create repaints, (i tried hard myself and i have to admit that i'm a real dumb on thatJust%20Kidding.gif) so, hat off Sir. btw, would you try a "camo desert" color, the same as AAF but in desert ?! (that's for my Djibouti's ops). Thanks in advance.

Yves

Hi YvesIt should not be to much of a problem, but by AAF did you mean the Australian Air Force two tone grey repaint that I did some time sgo, or did you want the French Air Force scheme but in desert colours and with an Australian Air Force registration, either one is fine by me, just let me know which.Take care, and have fun.Jim Hodkinson

I was wondering if I could get one repainted to match the VA i fly for. We dont use the j41 but i would love to see it in pwa colors to match my FS pax company, for my personal enjoyment.Boston.jpgnewpacificwestairways.com

Hi BrazilianicI certainly would not mind doing the repaint, but a couple of things are a bit of a problem, one is that the logo’s are not freely available, and the other is that when trying to look for any logo’s I came across this statement by your VACopyright © 1998-2009 by Pacific West Airways and its subsidiary, Paradise Airways. All rights reserved. The text and images of this web site may not be copied for distribution in any way, directly or indirectly, without express written permission from Pacific West Airways unless otherwise stated or granted. The Pacific West Airways and Paradise Airways Logo is a Registered Trademark of Pacific West Airways. No right to use is granted to any other party unless otherwise stated or granted. So unless you can get hold of both the logo’s and the written permission to use them, then I am afraid that this one may be one that I can not help out with, but with those two items then doing the request is not a problem.By the way, and it’s just a heads up no more no less, but the forum rules ask for you to sign all your posts with you full name, now I have no strong personal opinions either way on this rule, but it is their (PMDG’S) house, so their rules, as I say just a heads up, but it would also be nice to know with whom I am conversing.Jim Hodkinson@ YvesOk, so it’s the FAF repaint with the two tone brown and tan replacing the two tone blue, and let me see what I can come up on the Australian Air Force version, as I did do a quick test of a brown and tan colour change, and to be honest it just did not look convincing, well at least to me it didn’t, so if you can leave it with me I will see what I can come up with for both aircraft.Take care, and back as soon as I have something for you to take for a spin.Just a quick thought (I try not to have to many of those), but do you have any preference for the registraion numbers, if so then just let me know, no rush as it is an easy change to do so take your time on this one.Jim Hodkinson

Hi again YvesAs I managed to get the FAF version finished (said he hopfully), I though I would upload her to give you a chance to take her for a sping to see if she is close to what you wanted, so here you go with the download link for the files..http://www.filefront.com/17353321/J41_FAF_DC_01.zipAll the usual applies, any changes or updates you need, then just let me know and I will try my best to assist. As for the Australian Air Force variant, I am still working on that one, I just have to get a few more photographs of the desert disruptive pattern colours that they tend to use so I can make a final decision on the colour scheme, unless of course you have a photograph or a link to one that you would like me to have a go at, if so then just let me know.Take care, and have fun.Jim HodkinsonThere should be a screen shot with this post, but it does seem that that function has been having a few issues recently, so it may not be with the post, sorry if that’s the case.EDITI still have a problem with attaching screen shots, once again i am sorry about that.

Re Hi Jim,Thanks for the French AF, looks great, i like it and does not matter for the registration. For the Australian AF, do what you can, you're the judge.Take care and thanks again.Cheers,

Yves

Hi Jim, can I kindly ask You to create one of those liveries for my J41? I'm mostly interested in #3 (the middle one) and #5 (last one) withe registration SP-699H. Sorry but I don't have more pics because those are liveries propositions for upcoming LOT 787s, but You're free to use Your imagination wherever required.b787.jpgThanks in advance!

Hi YvesApparently the Australian Air Force desert camouflage is extremely effective, as I can not find any photographs of it, but what I did find that was close is the three colour camouflage scheme carried by the RAAF C130’s so I used that one as a base for the Jetstream so if you would like to take her for a spin to see if she is what you were after then here is the download link for the files..http://www.filefront.com/17354343/J41_RAAF_DC_01.zipIf however she was not what you were after, then no problem, just point me in the direction of a photograph of any aircraft with the type of desert scheme you would like, and I will get onto seeing what I can come up with for the Jetstream.Take care, and have fun.Sorry Yves that there is no screen shot of her but the picture attachment function is still out of commision by the looks of things.Jim Hodkinson@ Grzegorzyou have just reminded me that I was supposed to be dong a LOT repaint for somebody, but not only can I not remember the name but I can’t even remember which aircraft it was for, but that’s beside the point, let me have a closer look at the LOT scheme you are after, I am certain that something can be done.Take care, and back as soon as I have something for you to try out.Jim Hodkinson

Thank You very much Jim!

Hi Jim,Very impressed by the work your doing on these repaint requests. I have a request that is similar to one you have already done and that is a repaint of the Beech 1900C in Cascade Airways colors. You did a previous request for this livery on the 1900D. Cascade actually flew the 1900C just prior to going out of business in the mid 80's. They were a fun airline to fly in the Pacific Northwest.http://czworld.smugmug.com/Aircraft/Beechcraft-1900/Beechcraft-1900/4159589_tCcpp#250922633_7Cf7PThanks much.Bruce Dietsch
