December 1, 200916 yr Hey all,I was wondering of there is some kind of FS9 tweaking guide, like there is a FSX tweaking guide? Against what I expected, I have a FS9 installation that gives quite bad FPS. So yeah, bad FPS with GE, detailed airports and detailed planes and lots of AI, but still. I want to get UT too, and I want to have good FPS. Otherwise I might as well stay with FSX... Anybody know of such a guide for FS9?Hello, You might find some useful info here.. http://forums.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?t=69171

December 5, 200916 yr Author On the website you'll find a link to go to English pages. If I remember correctly it's at the right hand side of the page. You'll have to look closely. The English pages will enable you to download an English version. December 5, 200916 yr Hi all,Forgive me if this has already been posted.I was bored today so I did some fs9 tweaking. At least I attempted too. There are allot of recommendations as to the fs9.cfg settings. One I ran across I had not seen before was this one"A Little Bug FixingBefore you go any further into actual testing you'll need to work around a bug in the Auto-Gen system. In addition to the regular Auto-Gen that we had in MSFS 2002, Microsoft added two more auto-gen types. This makes for great looking cityscapes but unfortunately there's a problem with the system not clearing objects out of memory once they are no long visible. This will cause a degradation in performance as you fly the pattern in urban areas. Until MS comes up with a patch the best way to minimize the impact of this is to turn off the XML based Auto-Gen objects. This won't effect the appearance of the automatic landscape very much but will help performance considerably. To disable simply go into your MSFS Autogen folder and rename the default.xml file to default.xml.bak"http://www.digital-flight.com/optimize_msfs2004.htmI made this change and saw a increase of aprox 20 fps in a given area. I didn't see any real decrease in anything.I was wondering what your thoughts are on this. Thanks
