Heads Up - QualityWings 757 paints now available for download

Featured Replies

I just thought I would give a heads up that Quality Wings now has all of their liveries available on their website for download. The posted them prior to the 757's release because they wanted to reduce website traffic. Once you buy the package, you can use their livery manager to install them.I just downloaded 35 of them in about 10 mins.I have been waiting for this one. It looks beautiful and I tend to like the lighter aircraft. This one looks like it will be a light+ aircraft with a FMC and no GPS.

Is this B75 going to be available for FSX? I had thought only FS9, but maybe I'm wrong? Thanks, Bruce.

I've waited for this one too, but I did my best to not weigh myself down with all of their forum posts like I did with the JS41 and have still yet to buy. I looked at the details and watched the sample videos and that is about it. The 757 has been a long-time favorite of mine and I will probably split my mid-range flights between this one and CS 757s. I thought my 14 livery downloads was a bit much since I the plane is not available yet, but the downloads were high-speed. Keith

Sort of - they will make the FS9 version "compatible" with FSX. So likely FSX performance will not be very good. From the FAQ: "The 757 is designed for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. We have tested and made appropriate changes for Flight Simulator X COMPATIBILITY. Please understand there is a difference between designed for FSX and compatible with FSX"

I wonder if I should get it. I don't see any evidence of it being superior to Captain Sim's 757, and it probably also doesn't have a way to save panel states. So yeah... what to do what to do.

Hi Tom you are right that it is a port most likey and not a native model for fsx so I really wonder how much of a fps it will cause it fsx, for not being fsx native I did post this question here in the fourm on a model being fsx native or a port and how it effects proformance.Hello Benjamin, not sure how it is vs the captainsim 757 in fsx I do have the fs9 version but I'm definitely going to get the QL757 and use that instead of the cs757.

I'm going for FS9. FSX just doesn't run well enough for me on my current computer. But might I ask why you prefer it over the CS757?I must confess I compared screenshots (QW and CS) and rapidly came to the conclusion something was very wrong on the pedestal. Go look, and you'll see the throttle quadrant is quite different between the two models. I looked at real pictures, and saw that the CS757 was plain wrong... it's a 767 that has this throttle quadrant. I'm now wondering if this is a genuine error in the CS757, or are there 757s that have that sort of throttle quadrant as is displayed in the CS757?

Hi again Benjamin, one of the reasons I don't fly to much the cs 757 is also frame rates believe or not even in fs9 it takes a hit and a few other things here and there and the fact that you had to pay extra for the cargo and 300 model.I never noticed the throttle was wrong good catch, originally captainsim was developing the 767 then they showed previews then all of a sudden they had taken out the B767 from there website, and came out with the Boeing 757 everybody at that time was wondering as to what happened too the 767. that they first showed us in there website, then of course it came out later on for fsx only. since the 767 and 757 share almost basically the same cockpit they used the 767 vc model and put it on the 757 and made some mistakes like the throttle.

That's really quite stupid I must say. I find this to be a very big error. In the meantime I decided to buy the QW757. I want to have a 757 with a good El Al livery. I guess I'll just fly short distances then, since it's sure I won't be able to complete long flights with this plane. First though, I'll await reviews. See what people think of it and all.

It is a port. I got that cleared up on their forum earlier today. The FAQ is misleading because one place it says its "Compatible" with FSX and the other place it said it has been tested with "Native FSX SP1/SP2" or something along those lines. It is a portover, so I'll be skipping it and waiting for the LDS 757.It's really a shame too, they did a great job with the artwork and chose to model the more important systems. I think its cool that they still allow a fully automated flight. I wouldn't exactly call it a "lite" product. As I said on their forum, I'll be first in line to get it if they make a native version.

Hi William I mostly use fs9 so it doesn't affect me that much they have done a nice job with the total package maybe it wont be that bad in fsx and the frame rates are steady the cs757 even the fsx demo I tried out put my frame rates really low.
