January 21, 201016 yr I haven't done a "real" flight in the MD-11 or even the J41 in a long time. I just pick two destinations I'm interested in and go. I scratch my head at the people who said they wouldn't buy the MD-11 because "no one" flies them anymore. It's a virtual world, people. Try thinking outside the box. -Alex
January 21, 201016 yr Getting back to the topic:Dear PMDG, I am very interesting in this project and I know that you are too. This is is why I hope that you would considder producing the -300er, perhaps based on the base product(presumably the amazing -200ER) as an add-on package of later date release and less production cost.So are you planning such a thing? Or are doing one type only of the T7?I know this is very early in the production stage, I would love to hear what thoughs you have on how the final product will look like! And yes you may be unspecific:0)Yours trulyBoaz Fraizer Yours trulyBoaz FraizerCopenhagen, Denmark
January 21, 201016 yr Up until recently (and it may be seasonal, BA ran a 744 from Nice to Heathrow. The trip is only an hour or so. I fly it reasonably frequently when I don't have time for something longer. In the states the shortest flights are the cargo flight to and from PANC. (Some of these routes are also MD-11s) The MD-11 is trickier domestically, because most of the short flights are to or from the freight guys in Louisville and Memphis. When I'm not playing with the failures, I use time compression pretty extensively on any flight over two hours in cruise. Straight and level is pretty tedious. It can be boring enough at 7,000 and 150k, I'm sure its even more so at FL350 and mach .8. When the NGX comes out, I have a feeling I will be flying that pretty much exclusively for several months. In Asia the 744 is often used on routes which take only 1 to 3 hours! Domestic 744 flights in Japan are very frequent! And a cool flight I have been on twice was a daily Bangkok to Phuket flight.Nca flies a cargo -400 from LAX to SFO and I Think Singapore cargo flies ORD-DFW.There are tonnes of cool short flights to do. mid range flights are Also cool to do, flights Like JFK-LAX by Qantas or Tel Aviv - Heathrow and Frankfurt-Tel Aviv by El Al and Lufthansa respectively are very cool indeed.Personally I am fascinated by longer flights, just finished a Hong Kong-Paris cycle yesterday;0)Best wishesBoaz Yours trulyBoaz FraizerCopenhagen, Denmark

In a perfect world we'd get all 4, currently produced versions of the T7 and maybe that is what PMDG are doing. However, if they take the LDS approach (do only one version of a type) my prefference would be in this order:1. 777-200ER2. 777-300ER3. 777-200LRF4. 777-200LRWould be nice to have 3-class versions of the PAX models.Golli.
January 21, 201016 yr Don't forget Tokyo - Seoul with Korean Air 744. Luanda(Angola) - Johannesburg with SAA 744 :) Philip D. Schmidt Jensen - Denmark
January 21, 201016 yr "Personally I am fascinated by longer flights, just finished a Hong Kong-Paris cycle yesterday;0)"Yes it is fun to plan for such a flight, deal with the weather & traffic along the way, and reach your destination with the correct amount of fuel left. Not on fumes and not with 30tonnes either.Golli.

I think it may have been a positioning flight because of the weather in CA. I too am fascinated by longer flights and the inter-workings of the fuel system such as moving to direct tank-to-engine operation as flights wind down, etc. I'll have to look up the bangkok to Phuket flight. January 22, 201016 yr I think PMDG should do all varients of the 777 200200er200lr200lrf300300erthat would be an amazing 777 package. i wouldnt mind if it took a few more months or cost more.

They made it with GE engines only, then they released an update which supported specs and EICAS updates to go with the PW and RR engine models. Then they released a payware upgrade which included cargo versions, LCD screens and updated soundssets.I wouldn't be surprised if they released the 777-200ER with all three engine variants on initial release. Then a later payware upgrade for the 777-300ER(simply because it is revolutionizing the aviation business at the moment) with perhaps an option to remove the raked wingtips to make it appear like the shorter ranged -300, a la' the 747 with the option to remove the winglets to make it appear like the Domestic version of the 747.Perhaps the LR would appear in a cargo package at some point?I hope that PMDG will include both the 200ER and 300ER models and cockpits and flying carachtaristics, but I also understand the enormous productions constraints that would cause on PMDG.With a release in early 2011 they might be shooting for the 200ER only(I am almost willing to bet money on that horse), but who knows! The -200ER would be fulfilling my route needs for years to come, being able to fly BA to a vast majority of international routes, and being able to fly American Airlines to Heathrow and Frankfurt in the 777 is a dream coming true for me :( Yours trulyBoaz."Personally I am fascinated by longer flights, just finished a Hong Kong-Paris cycle yesterday;0)"Yes it is fun to plan for such a flight, deal with the weather & traffic along the way, and reach your destination with the correct amount of fuel left. January 22, 201016 yr We used to have a UAL 747 from ORD-IAD a few times a week. And for a while, when I was commuting to Orlando, I used to catch a Delta 777 from ATL-MCO.This is entirely off topic, but we used to fly a stretch DC-8 from MIA to FLL every night at Emery. What a lovely way to put cycles on your airframe...

Try thinking outside the box. This is something that I have to do better- I keep getting hung up about which airlines fly between airport pairs and then what equipment is used- it can get restrictive very fast if you always look at reality.... I'm hoping to get more "virtual" in my simming world.....Bruce Knight. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
