A blast from the past

Featured Replies

Thought I'd leave the FMC in the hanger, and broke out the old Iron Knuckles DC-9 for the first time in ages (actually a JCA DC-9-41 merged with the Iron Knuckles panel). Once I remembered how to start the thing, I had a blast! VOR to VOR from KSEA to KMSP, remembering to pressurise and depressurise the cabin, just kept pretty busy compared to more modern metal.Anyone else have any old favourites that they've recently returned to?Cheers, SLuggy

I do not have a signature. Why are you reading this?

I still fly the IK DC-9. It doesn't have much of a VC, but the 2d panel is excellent and the flight model is quite good.Another old favorite is the PSS Dash 8. It has an FMC and will fly a decent climb profile using the IAS mode of the autopilot. Again, the VC isn't much, but this is an IFR type of aircraft and the 2d panel is excellent. The flight model causes the aircraft to fly too nose up at approach speed, but there is a fix, do a search on PSS Dash 8.The Dreamfleet Cessna 310 is fun to fly, kind of like turning the clock back to the 6o's, but with a GPSRick Piper makes a nice HS 748 turboprop and David Maltby makes some very nice British jets. I agree, the old steam gauge girls really keep you busy even while at cruise.I like the RFP 747( INS equipped)Also the aeroworx king air is rather fun to fly, But i prefer the analogue over the EFIS.Im a huge fan of steam gauges.Maybe ill get some ideas out of this thread for some older tin to fly.Gerry

I'm surprised you don't care for the VC. I've always thought it was very well done.4334012010_c3f879%38%3035_o.jpg4334011948_ff36ff0389_o.jpg4333269871_53b6078886_o.jpgBrandon

I use the PT TU154m on a regular basis. If you don't know about it and enjoy complex addons with character, I strongly recommend it: http://www.fs-proteam.com/products.html?op...pw_patt=catalog
