March 2, 201016 yr I've got JF 757 Pro and it's very nice...just curious if someone can give a comparison between QW757 and JF757...I had CS 757 a couple years ago and wasn't very keen on it. ThanksRich Perry

ThanksRich PerryQW has a beautiful model with lots of animations, great sounds, and a much simplified panel... if you want to just get in and fly, it's the plane of choice. Do wait for service pack 1 however... I have both and prefer the more complex fmc in the JF version.DJ
March 2, 201016 yr The JF 757 and CS 757 are the same aircraft, developed by Captain Sim...go for the QW 757 which has a better model and their repaints are top notch!!! OP, not sure what qaulity sims is like, i have both pheonix (jf) ans cs, i prefere the looks of cs 757 but as someone once said its a pig in a pretty dress, the pheonix 757 is my choice due to complexity and performance. havnt been tempted by qw yet.Chris Chris Howard

A modified cockpit with large glass displays. That's the only reason I bought the QW version. I prefer the Captiansim 757 over the PSS version because the VC looks substandard compared to the other two options. A problem that's being addressed in SP1 of the Quality Wings model is a framerate issue with the larger glass gauges. March 2, 201016 yr Qw 757 all the way. Doesn't have as many systems, but what it does have is much more accurate the the JF. Wait for SP1 which includes many complexity enhancements! :( Danny
March 2, 201016 yr Author Qw 757 all the way. Doesn't have as many systems, but what it does have is much more accurate the the JF. Wait for SP1 which includes many complexity enhancements! :(Yes...I should have been more specific...comparison of the PSS 757 (now being distributed under JF) and QW 757. Not sure what you mean by "not as many systems" FMS etc? Sounds like wait for SP1 and make the plunge. ThanksRP
March 3, 201016 yr Yes...I should have been more specific...comparison of the PSS 757 (now being distributed under JF) and QW 757. Not sure what you mean by "not as many systems" FMS etc? Sounds like wait for SP1 and make the plunge. ThanksRPI was comparing with the PSS/JF 757 (forgot they'd picked up the CS version...). The QW does not model the various a/c systems to the same extent that the PSS version does and has nowhere near the number of workable controls on the overhead. The QW FMS is not modeled to the same level of realism and complexity that the PSS version exhibits. That said, the QW version was not intended to have a high degree of systems fidelity and has excellent flight models and a beautiful visual model. It can be flown pretty much like the default planes if the user so desires - kick the tires, light the fires, and you're off. I recommend you visit the QW forum and take a look... support is excellent and a service pack that will much enhance the basic plane is soon forthcoming.DJ
March 8, 201016 yr I bought QW757 :( to use for fs9. Yes, :( it does has nice repaints, but it lacks in many other :( areas. First, the exterior model on the fs9 version has lines in the fuse that look terrible.Second, the FMC cannot be used in VC mode as a part of the clickable VC. It displays the fmc in the 3d vc as a 2d image which is windowed.Third ,the overall interior is over saturated with too much color.I could go on and on, but I think you get my point already. To be honest ,I really never put much of my time in learning how to correctly use the captain sim 757model . Now, after finding out what a waste of money the QW 757 was, I decided to read the captain sim 757 manual and really give it a try out. Now ,I am hooked on it B) .My comments are just my honest opinion nothing more or less.Peace B) out
March 8, 201016 yr Second, the FMC cannot be used in VC mode.Yes it can, click on the CDU and up pops the FMC .Regards.Ernie.
March 8, 201016 yr Yes :( you are correct it does come up as a "pop up ",but that is a 2d :( image ,which is not part of the clickable vc.
March 8, 201016 yr Yes :( you are correct it does come up as a "pop up ",but that is a 2d :( image ,which is not part of the clickable vc.I have CaptainSim's 757, try entering a whole flight plan manually from the VC, with those small keys, and you'll soon be looking to open the FMC popup window. You can't even read the CDU screen unless you zoomed almost all the way in.Its nice that you can click on the FMC buttons in the VC, but from a practical Flight Ops standpoint there's not much benefit to it.Regards.Ernie.
March 8, 201016 yr I'm very interested to see the QW757 after SP1. Function is more important to me than form, but if the beautiful QW757 is ramped up to PSS functionality level or beyond, Im in. Regards, Mark
March 9, 201016 yr "Its nice that you can click on the FMC buttons in the VC, but from a practical Flight Ops standpoint there's not much benefit to it."The whole VC can be easily used with the correct tools . A larger monitor or a properly set up trackir will do the trick . Trackir has worked for me even on a pair of 80" High-Resolution Virtual Video Glasses 3D Capable with VGA . http://www.zetronix.com/Video-Glasses/c26/...ee85fb99dceb702Having a fully functional VC is as real as it gets with the right set up without the high cost of buildling a complete home cockpit.
