Stumbled upon this little-known site:http://www.fskneeboard.com/Looks like a very, very useful tool rather than having to have several other PDF or internet browser windows open (...or saving from having to print everything off). Certainly on my list of apps to buy.

Thats pretty neat. Although I have found myself already doing a simliar thing by using flightaware.com on my iphone to view charts why flying. I guess it would be easier if there was an app for it though.

I'm buying my wife an Ipad tomorrow for Mother's Day\anniversary present. Somehow, I don't see her loaning it to me for an electronic flight bag! :(

More than just charts though...checklists and weather, and several other features too.

Charts and weather only cover the US, which makes it of very limited utility for me. :( (mind you, we can't get iPads here anyhow, except as grey market imports!)

Awesome! I've been waiting for an iPhone app like this for a while...now all I have to do is buy an iPad :(

Bump for a question: is there a plan to eventually include charts from large airports outside the US (i.e. Heathrow, Charles de Gaulle, Narita, etc)? I ask because my FsPassengers airline is global, so having only US charts is a bit of a limit.

I get > 20 FPS @ Ultra High or better everything until I come across addon scenery.

Yes this is something I am already looking into. The problem is that that majority of governments outside the US do not make their aviation charts public. This is why you see so many sites such as AirNav.com, skyvector.com, myairplane.com with US charts only. The only sites I have seen that contain charts outside the US are commercial sites that are copyrighted therefore I cannot use them in a commercial application. I purchase all of the charts for my application from the FAA directly. If anyone out there can point me in the direction of other places for me to procure non- copyrighted aviation charts outside the US I will certainly add them, just send me a PM. On a side note, all coding is finished as of today and the app will likelybe submitted to apple tonight or tomorrow. Thanks for the great question.

Will the application be made available for iPhone/iPod touch too? Also, are the Alaska charts included?

No- FS Kneeboard will only be available for iPad. The iPhone and iPad Touch are too small for a application like this to be practical. I have a few apps on my iPhone that display charts but it is very difficult to reasonably view the charts on the screen. Yes - All Alaska, Hawaii, Pacific and Carribbean IFR and VFR charts are included

Alright, thanks a lot for the quick answer. Looks like this product isn't for me then :(
