Possibly the resolution has something to do with it.I'm running a 30 inch hi-res monitor that sports a 2560 x 1600 dpi res.I'm running Win XP 32-bit OS using the 3-G-byte switch to maximize my virtual memory (I have 4 G of RAM installed). My graphics card is a Nvidia G250 and has 512 M-bytes of DDR3 memory. Maybe when I build a new system, and migrate to Win7 and I buy a graphics card with a larger memory, it will go away. The mystery is, I can run for a while during a long flight without this problem, but then, at what appears to be a random moment, the text will suddenly blur.Bill Clark

Hi ALLcoming to the same conclusion its a res problem.I'm running at 1680x1050x32bit ( due to the graph card and my low end system)altered to 1680x1050x16bit in fsx, continued flight and then went back to 1680x1050x32, ok no corrupt menue bar, left my Mipmap level detail slider to the left for performance and strange I seem to have better graphics in the vc on this slider setting. it may have reset some setting in FSX???If some could try and repeat the same.

If you wish to learn more, here is a good start:-http://www.tweakguides.com/ATICAT_1.htmlThere is an advanced menue in CCC as well. The problem Paul mentions is when you Press the ALT button to bring up the FSX menue Bar the text is corrupt and unreadable, worse in full screen mode.(i also had some corruption of aircraft modles as well)I spent hours on my old P4 desktop installing a 3850AGP card and had the same problem on the spec listed below before I came across the mipmap slider bar had to be moved to high quality.it may be a problem with the CCC drivers. my ccc settings are (added for info Paul, you may be interested, and maybe use to ATI users as a starter for tweaking)smoothvision HD AA.......ticked.. use application settigssmoothvision HD AF.......ticked.. use application settigsCatalyst AI...................unticked.. for the 'Disable catalysr AI' and set as standardMipmap detail level.........to the right for quality giving High Quatity settingWait for vertical refresh.........to the right for quality giving always onAdaptive -AA....................unticked agaisnt enable Adaptive Anti-Aliasingopen GL unticked for the tripple bufferingfor the FSX.cfg my tweaks are:-[Display]TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=80TextureMaxLoad=9UPPER_FRAMERATE_LIMIT=18WideViewAspect=TrueRUNWAY_LIGHTS_SURFACE_SCALAR=1.2 RUNWAY_LIGHTS_VASI_SCALAR=1.2RUNWAY_LIGHTS_APPROACH_SCALAR=1.2RUNWAY_LIGHTS_STROBE_SCALAR=1.0[GRAPHICS]SHADER_CACHE_VERSION=41 // Increment this number EVERYTIME you change fsx.cfg (it simply rebuilds the shader cache)// SHADER_CACHE_PRIMED_10=1693458433 STALE_BUFFER_THRESHOLD=1024 // Try 10 as well.. but 1024 should give you a perfect smooth experience when using vsync ON ForceFullScreenVSync=1ForceWindowedVSync=1HIGHMEMFIX=1[bufferPools]UsePools=1PoolSize=3072000RejectThreshold=98304these settings give me stutter free flights in PNW but with some pauses I cant get rid of.I have also in XP property settings set the visual effects to best performance which cuts out abit of shimmering.so its possible to get good results on a low to mid set upmy slider settings in fsx are as sugested by ORBX
Bob,Your fsx.cfg look very interesting can you please explain what each of them do.?ThanksAndrew

Andrewall of the tweaks come from the folowing Ref/ links:-1) http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=29041 (NickN's guide)2) Pinned: The BP=0 conclusions at the top of the FSX forum ( ******* Altuve aka "Bojote" hard work into figuring out the inners of FSX)3) http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtop...llScreenVSync=1you should find most of the explanations in these.Reading the forum on the above tweaks most of the guys with high end systems seem to be adopting USEPOOLS=0I tried this but opted for USEPOOLS=1 and the poolsize shown in my .CFG file as this gave me a stutter free graphics solution on my low-mid range card and system.I recentley invested in the OBEX PNW scenery and these tweaks have put new life and enjoyment into my flightsim.I also tried the external frame limiter but opted for a reduced internal value of 18 which gives a good steady flight. need to stay away from the big hubs of course.( i'm Limited to how many addons I can have as I don't have the prosessing power)These tweaks have enabled me to up the slider bars in FSX and has helped in moving away from the defult scenery .I posted my tweaks for the guys who are thinking of doing a bit of tweaking and it shows on mid end graphics card you can get great results and it can be used as a starting point for ATI and other cards. the only tweak I not to sure about is if the TextureMaxLoad=9 fits in the formula when uespools=1 is adopted

help i have the same problem in my fsx after i exit full screen and minimized my fsx when i return to full screen my cockpit is black then menu bars are blurry any fix or help thanks a lot

Hi Folks

When overstretched,
FSX will dither the viewport's rendered content.

Noticeably affects -
tooltips, menu, r/h context menu, atc window, kneeboard titles, mission captions, etc.
Similarly, scenery textures fallback to lower mips.

The symptom of dithered fonts
can have many, and multiple, causes,
but the key point is that -
your FSX user-settings are set too high
for your PC's available resources,
at that point in time.

I get this if I have "Antialiasoing Behavior Flags" set to none,  very blurry.  however if I change it to "Treat override any applcation setting as Application controlled"  the menu bars all become clear again.  Running on nvidia surround 3 monitors
