I'll like to see also whether it would work with VFR textures in FS2004 ?
No, its FSX only autogen, they are not compatible at all, sorry.

Cheers, Andy.

If you are using ORBX and look down in flightsim to see a farm next to a small wood for instance, there are two things you should understand about what you are looking at. Firstly and most importantly for anyone that takes VFR flying with any seriousness is that the farm and wood don't really exist in reality at that location. Secondly is that you will only have to fly a few miles before you'll spot the same farm and wood in a completely different location. Because landclass tiles repeat... repeatedly.
In defense of ORBX I must correct this statement. ORBX does use landclass for large areas, but not the default grid system that FSX comes with. ORBX 'hand' places, sizes and vectors their landclass and, since they cover the area where I live, I can tell you that in the above example with ORBX landclass sceneries the farm and wood DO show up in their exact locations, even though the textures representing them are generic. Since the landclass textures are also customized to each region the result is an incredibly accurate, immersive and realistic looking depiction of the area even with the use of landclass. Combining this with perfectly integrated photoscenery areas around airports adds even more immersion and reality, however the non-photo scenery areas are so good that it is sometimes difficult to discern where the photo-scenery coverage ends and the landclass coverage begins.RegardsMartin

I am sorry, but even though I am a huge Orbx fan (I only fly above PNW) this is not true... You will indeed see farmland where there should be approximately farmland, but that's it. They did not place all houses where they should be (nor did Orbx ever say they did)! You can clearly see a specific generic tile having the EXACT same placement of houses all over PNW, which on its own already proves it's not the houses that are placed exactly but just the landclass/texture. Only around the payware airports a lot of houses are placed where they should be, but that's it.

Hi Jeroen.I believe you have may have misunderstood my post, so I will try to clarify further. I did not say that houses and buildings would be in their exact locations. I am saying no other landclass based sceneries place the 'generic' tiles with the precision that Orbx does on a large scale, including the vectoring of the edges of landclass features to their real world locations, therefore, the 'generic' textures representing blocks of forest, farmland, residential neighbourhoods, industrial areas, etc will all show up in their proper location. This is NOT saying that a barn, houses or individual trees will be in their exact location as with photo-scenery. I still stand by my statement that Christopher's statement "that the farm and wood don't really exist in reality at that location" is not correct. Orbx scenery places the generic tiles that represent the "farm and the wood" very precisely and I have verified this as PNW covers the area where I live. I do apologize however for the fact that the second point in Christopher's statement -- "Secondly is that you will only have to fly a few miles before you'll spot the same farm and wood in a completely different location. Because landclass tiles repeat... repeatedly" -- is accurate and I should not have quoted that portion of his statement in my defense of the Orbx landclass sceneries. RegardsMartin

Clear, if you state it like that I indeed misunderstood your post. English is not my native language and when I read 'farm' I immediately thought about the farmers house, while farm could (or maybe simply does) mean all the land on which the farmer works and not just his house. :(

Hi Andy..Thanks.I have been attempting a FS2004 version of my scenery, and the UK VFR Scenery objects provide a wide variety of items. However, as I mentioned, there several thousand trees which form a thick conifer forest on the edge of the airfield, which results in a slide show - on my machine some 11fps or so in FS2004. I was hoping that Treescapes may be the answer.I'll keep tryingRegardsBill CusickFormby, UK0.9nm SW R03 EGOW

Finally got around to buying this add-on for the grim north of England (i.e Volume 3), and I am very impressed with it. It adds a lot to the realism of Photorealistic scenery, although I did have to manually install it. It does put some trees on the apron areas of the default Woodford Aerodrome near the hangars though, then again, the default FSX Woodford looks naff all like the real place, so it's probably not incorrect.I like it a lot.Al

If you read the licences for the software you have "bought", thats not actually how it works.Hope that helps.

Rapterman, I'm getting tired of having to handle reports on this thread. Do not ask about trading for this product here at AVSIM anymore. It's not legal within the EULA. End of discussion.
