October 21, 201015 yr Hi AllA long tome ago I deleated my default AI (FS9) by using the tool in "My Traffic". At some point while adding payware scenery, one of them has put the default AI back in and I do not know which one. I do not know which files to start looking in so I can deleat them again. I think it maybe a South American scenery. Does anyone know of specific sceneries that do this or point me in the direction I should be looking. Sincere thanks and best regards.Malcolm "Rooster" Hancock Malcolm Hancock
October 21, 201015 yr Take a look in scenery\world\scenery, for file traffic030528.bgl . If it's present there, delete it, or rename it to something else, like traffic030528.OFF Hope this can help... My Specification: I CAN RUN FSX IN MAX SETTINGS....i don't care about dell, bell, amd, intel, 60000 wats power supply or alien made graphic card....
October 21, 201015 yr Author Thanks for the reply but you notice in my OP that I have already done that and the renamed file is still in place doing no harm. It must be coming from else where but I dont know where from. Any further help from anyone, please. Many thanksMalcolm "Rooster" Hancock Malcolm Hancock
October 21, 201015 yr Hi.I'm pretty sure all traffic files have 'traffic' in the name. Not on purpose perhaps, but one of those coincidences that make life easier. To find the rogue, try a search of your hard drives for all files called *raffi*.bglMake sure you have 'Show hidden files and folders' selected in your folder options.Regards,D
October 21, 201015 yr FYI - The word Traffic does not have to be in the name of a traffic file at all.FS does not "care" how the file may be named as it reads from a header inside the file to determine what type of bgl it is.As I test I named one (a traffic.bgl) as The Kitchen Sink.bgl and it worked just fine.
October 21, 201015 yr Author Thanks for the replies gentlemen. So David and others do you think I'm looking for the preverbial neadle/traffic.bgl in a scenery haystack then, or is there any hope?Regards Malcolm "Rooster" Hancock Malcolm Hancock

Keep doing that until the culprit shows it's ugly head again. This of course assumes it is a Traffic file that is the culprit.Good Hunting!

October 21, 201015 yr As David says, the file header identifies a traffic file and as I actually started having this same problem a few weeks ago, I did start to write a simple app to look inside all active bgls for the traffic header, and list them so I could perhaps identify the culprit whatever name it's under. It would seem a good idea if I finished it and posted it here, hopefully in the next day or so.Dave
October 21, 201015 yr Hi,I think that searching for "traffic" is a very sound first step - that's because TTools always uses the name "traffic" in the file when compiling it. Someone would have to rename the file after that, which usually isn't done. While this won't find every traffic file, it will find 95% of them. A good first step.Hope this helps, Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
October 21, 201015 yr Someone check what the size of the default traffic file is (I have deleted mine so can't check). Then you can search for a file of that size in your scenery\world\scenery folder and rename it.
October 21, 201015 yr I'm surprised Peter van der Veen's marvellous tool, ACA2005, isn't mentioned more often in these discussions!By the time you've renamed traffic files, decompiled them, or scratched around in strange places for the missing ones... you could've downloaded and installed this clever utility, sorted out the problem, and found out all about your aircraft, AFCADs and a dozen interesting conflicts errors and missing things in your sim!Here:http://aifs2.pvdveen.net/?page_id=5
