It's funny, I always raise an eyebrow when someone says,‘maths'But both are correct...informal for Mathematics. The one you use is just an indication of where you're from :biggrin:Maybe ‘Do the math’ is an American expression…imported to the UK.That would explain the discrepancy. And folks there kept saying ‘math’, even though regionally it should be 'maths'.hehe...I'm so far off topic :(
Yeah and Mathematicians call it Analysis... go figure.Math or Maths are for the laymen.

Ana-lysis where Ana = repeatedlylysis = disolve , in that case breaking my problem into smaller parts In conclusion Analysis means repeatedly searching into detail until finding the root of a problem.

No it refers to the build up of theorems from first principles.Often times this leads to actual code being written.
Of course one is so posh here in England, one actually says: 'one is orf to the cinema'And with regard to all the above corrections (some of which are actually incorrect by the way, I'll leave you to work out which ones they are), as I've already once pointed out in relation to talking about the difference between forum chat and professional products, I don't worry too much about that kind of thing on forums, or 'fora' if you prefer since we're being picky lolAl
Don't bother explaining it. I will let you save face. Let's get back to bashing Microsoft. :( :(
I see the pedants are out in force. Fowler said: "me is technically wrong in It wasn't me etc.; but the phrase being of its very nature colloquial, such a lapse is of no importance".

I don't need to save anything, the corrections you attempted to make to my posts were incorrect in several respects, which I only mention and won't bother detailing, because that's supposedly what you were attempting to correct. It's a misplaced aim in any case; as noted several times already to the point of tedium, I really don't care for pulling people up on grammar, spelling or language in the chatty medium that is a forum, because in that medium, I relax my own use of language too, thus 'correcting' anything I write on Avsim's forums is a pointless exercise, since I make no strict attempt at it being correct in the first place because of the casual chatty nature of a forum. You could search through the almost three thousand posts I've made on Avsim, and you wouldn't find a single example of me pulling anyone up for that kind of thing, because to do so would be as pedantic as it was unwelcome, besides which, I get enough of that when teaching it to be honest. I merely pulled MS up for letting such standards slip because that's not a forum chat, but a professional promotional product, and if you want to turn ignoring that fundamental difference into a silly linguistic contest, then I'm afraid I don't really care, more to the point, as far as I recall, I actually was bashing Microsoft before you went off on this pointless diversion.Al

I am amazed that you think this is about your writing. I could not care less about your writing. This is about being rude and offensive. I only responded to your offensive statement, calling a woman a "silly cow" for making what you mistakenly thought was a grammatical error. I found this hypocritical since you were playing fast and loose with your own grammar. So, when I mentioned that, as a professional editor, I thought that the woman's statement was correct, you insulted me by saying, "In case you really don't see what is wrong with saying 'that's why it's so fun', which is worrying if you are a professional editor..." You piled on more insults by calling anyone who thought the woman's statement was correct to be an uneducated 10-year old. I demonstrated to you that, in fact, the woman's statement was correct. Since you questioned my editorial abilities, I corrected more of your own grammatical mistakes. Realizing that this was getting out of hand, I apologized to you for seeming harsh. In response, you continued to insult me. You continually claim that my corrections are wrong, but you fail to explain why. Even after your insulting post, I tried to make light of it and move on, but you seem to be stuck in this argument. I just won't be part of this argument anymore because it is taking over the board and it's getting boring.

It sounds right - I looked it up - turns out it is right - don't know why veeray would say it wasn't right ;)

I'd say you guys seriously need something to do. I know. How's about a game of flight simulator? I've heard it's very good. Anyone heard of this one?

You know, I was already so surprised that this thread had 6 pages. So now I see why that so is. You are so talking about English, not MS Flight. Might I suggest you study English and get a university degree? Then come back and share with us how it's all supposed to be, so that we may be enlightened by your knowledge. ("you" as in: those that were discussing the grammar in this thread. I was so not picking on anybody in particular). By the way, I do not mean that I find it so useless in general to correct people. In some instances, people do make so atrocious errors ("look hows i flaw the arplan!!111!!11") and in such cases I can so understand people correcting each other. But right now, I so don't see the problem. (okay, I'll stop the so-ing now)So what was I hoping to see when I clicked the link? I guess something that didn't resemble FSX in such a huge way. What I really hope to see, though, is something they won't be able to show me: MS Flight running splendidly on my computer with dense AI and scenery.EDIT: Golly, I made a spelling mistake. Fixed it now.

LOL.gif Do we have to team up to play that game? Do we use our own rules or those of FAA?
