October 28, 201015 yr ...just what the doctor ordered!~ The 2D pop-ups are just great. Makes an awesome plane even more enjoyable and flyable. So what OTHER planes are ya going to add to the ORBX hangar, huh, huh?Seriously, a most excellent and enjoyable first plane offering.Mitch
October 28, 201015 yr Commercial Member Actually Mitch, we inadvertantly placed the Lancair v1.1 patch link on our support website (it's since been taken down). We've uncovered a few little niggles with some VC lighting which we're working to fix. But if you downloaded it and it works fine for you, that's all good then.We should have the v1.1 patch out by Sunday night. Cheers, John Venema

Totally lights up the cabin and the instrument panel. If you are still going to tweak...that is only for the better. From what I see...I'm pleased as you-know-what, LOL! Yeeehaw.......... I really like how the front and back cabin dome lights will light up their part of the cabin separately from each other. Also that you can have both on, or just one or the other. I had the back cabin dome light on, and what a great effect as the light diffused towards the front of the cabin, as is the interior dome-light reflection of the cabin illumination onto the windows and panels. Very, very realistic. Kudos!I'll re-download your tweaked patch 1.1 when you release it Sunday. Everybody is going to love it!Thanks,Mitch'er

October 28, 201015 yr I'm still contemplating getting this bird, it seems from the reviews I have seen here and on the ORBX forum that it's the one of the best GA bird done yet for FSX. I'm still enjoying the C310 that I got several weeks ago, awesome stuff. There's some really good product coming out now for FSX.Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.

There's some really good product coming out now for FSX.Bruce.I guess the reason I like it so much is because of its speed!(You'd think I'd just fly a C750).... but.... going fast in a GA single amazes people haha! I was doing 280 ground speed tonight on vatsim at 7000 ft Weeeee! | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

The plane has power to the nines; no perceptible parasitic drag; handles LIKE A DREAM! You don't actually need to move the joystick...just THINK of what attitude you want...and (yeah..just joking, but not too far off the cuff...) and it will flow there. As another poster stated, this lands like nothing else I have in the stable. I really like the pressurization immersion of this bird. Not only that...but watching the OAT and CAT gauge and then adjusting the warmth of the cabin as you climb to the FL's is very, very immersing. You can't just 'lead butt' with this bird. You need to fly her....and control her...WONDERFUL!Get out your plastic...and join the ranks. :) ORBX got this right, right out of the chute.... :, and this is their first plane.......
October 29, 201015 yr She will be perfect (for me) when the patch with the popups is available (maybe this Sunday, as John says, together with Melbourne 2.0) and she already is perfect in every other aspect. Haven't had so much fun in a GA release since .. never.I'm also exited about even more repaints coming up. The current ones like "Jaguar" are well done and there's more to come.
October 29, 201015 yr --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ORBX got this right, right out of the chute.... :, and this is their first plane.......S'cuse me... yes they did a comendable job, but it is for sure not right from day one..! why a patch and a already confirmed SP after december..?no sir... it is a great plane. I have to agree to that fact and enjoy it very much, but yeah it do need a bit of work to be "right"..!Still a plane to get as this will be an awesome plane for the fast paced flyers when all things are addressed. personally wont fly it much as I am a low and slow guy but still it is a must for each hanger.

However, ORBX did get this one "right" out of the chute. Overall, it is a fantastic release. So, yes, I would say ORBX got this one right. October 29, 201015 yr Author Hey Mitch,Sounds like I had better get that plastic warmed up tonight after work :). This bird sounds awesome! Thanks guys,Bruce.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------You will enjoy this baby...but please...don't let your wife know where she can find me! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!And oh...the patch that I did download, has GARMIN 2D pop-ups that are a breeze to interact with. They will not have you suffer lack of situational awareness. They pop up with a SHIFT 2,3,or 4,...you interact with the instrument, and then send them on their way. Cabin lighting is taken care of too. The forward dome light takes in the panel, but I believe they also strengthened the actual (tweaked) illumination levels of the back-lit instruments themselves. This could be a placebo effect upon me, but I THINK they might be brighter than before I applied the patch. They need to 'lighten up' the phase-in dial of the cabin pressure suite. When I have both dome lights turned off, it is still hard to distinguish and interact with. You need to be able to see it more clearly. I do use this pressure simulation each FL flight, and would like to be able to not have to squint or mess around with the chasing it with the mouse pointer. That is about the only thing that I would like to see more illumination on besides what the patch has already done. (wink....)Enjoy...Mitch

The look of the plane, textures, components, etc. In other words, does it make you FEEL that you are about to climb aboard the real thing? Answer for myself, Yes! Checklist one2. Is the simulation of this real-world aircraft immersing, that causes/needs me to interact with its systems and sub-systems? Yes! Checklist two3. What excitement level and sense of accomplishment is left after a simulation session with this airframe High, or indifferent? High! Checklist three4. Would this initial offering from ORBX cause me to investigate any further airframe products? HELL YES! Checklist four.Check, check! Pre-buy checklist over...now to hit the magnetos.....My personal opinion is they did one amazing job for a company that up to this time had kept to fabulous, high-level scenery packages. Should their airframe competitors feel anxious...I'd say yes. This is a fabulous development for all of us. We are all winners by this. Competition breeds greater levels of excellence. All of the above can be summed up by my personality with one word. YEEEEEEHAW! Let the airframe games begin! If you already have this plane, then the patch (correcting minor items) will be your ticket. Enjoy when they put it out. I was lucky to have been in the position to preview it. LOL!Cheers,Mitch'er

One of the joys of having married someone who was once a student pilot herself (before I was one prior to becoming licensed), is that she understands the passion for aviation. Thanks, Bruce.
