Level-D 767

Featured Replies

Oh well. Andre had a reply to a post of mine in some other thread in which he hinted at a 3D overhead for the VC... But, I'll stay tuned to more news.
unless there saving it for a brand new fsx 767 package lol. putting everything they learned from the 757 development into a new 767. the cockpits are the same only a few things would have to be changed. from the 757 vc.

You can count on PMDG though - they say they will deliver and always do. PMDG develops and implements new software technology at an amazing pace with astonishing results; Level-D Sim - you have to keep checking just to make sure they are still in business. :)
You have to realize that Level D is a part time operation, they have real life commitments that they attend to first, and much fewer employees. I am going to get both the PMDG NGX and LevelD 757, no question about that, but when the NGX arrives its going to be major event, as in take time off from work and dedicating time to using that plane for months on end. I don't see how any other addon aircraft will compete with the NGX when it's released, the fanfare and anticipation for PMDG quality and attention to systems fidelity applied to a popular a/c (as opposed to the MD11 and JS4100) is just so great!I love the levelD 767, but after flying the MD11 recently, I am really put off by the elderly looking VC, especially having to use 2d popups of the FMC and radio pedestal.

You would be surprised how different they are hence even the 757 has different layouts (details lol) and for the record it will be very close to the real deal in every field 757:-)Cheers,

Well, the current LDS 767 is still basically a port-over of the FS2004 version with a windowed-mode 'popup' FMC and extensive use of Windows native fonts throughout the virtual cockpit.
It seems you are new on the virtual block lol (nothing wrong with that :-))You don't have clue at all about the 767 for FSX it's a native FSX model lol (was actually the first with native DDS textures besides MS) but based on techniques used in 2005...It's the only one in our virtual world that comes close to real world 767 counterpart. There is no competition with PMDG since that is a 737 and we are making a 757 so you can enjoy both or hence even more different aircraft (That's the beauty of our hobby we can experience different type of aircraft without a type rating lol and learn how complicated airliners work)It puzzles me why you compare two totally different aircraft and make that a competition is beyond me!You don't have clue what we are developing for the 757 but it will be close to the real deal...Well if the pace of Level-d doesn't suit you fine by me, but we aren't developing full time and as informed on our forum why but the 757 will be delivered :-)Personal I delivered 7 different free ware projects with over millions of downloads and truckload of awards and joined level-d in 2008 to be part of making that dream 757 with all those little details and share it with my fellow simmers and that is exactly what's is going to happen lolBut to build it from scratch takes time :-)Please be so kind to write only what you know and not speculating! If you think the 757 looks like the 767 O well...Have fun,

Well Benjamin I said in the near future things can change.Apology for the confusion not intended but not over 2 weeks lol first a 757 to finish :-) But my first real love in FS was a 737 and a 767 and for the last one I did something special for free with the VC so I have something with that VC lol :-)

I will not comment on anyone's own personal views on Level-D 767 (much less the upcoming 757), but to say things like the 767 is outdated and that the 757 will come nowhere near companies X or Y is simply fool. Anyone knowledgeable enough on the 767 vs. the real thing will know that Level-D stuff will always "come close", no matter what "competition". Besides, like André already pointed out: they are not competing with each other. For those of you who have not been around for as long as I have, or for as long as the Level-D guys have... The priority of this little group of Level-D (previously just loosely known as the "team who made the PIC767" lol) has always been to pay super attention to detail. Anyone who has either real 767 or real 767 sim time under his/her belt will know what I mean. When you compare the currently available 767 in terms of function and "repeatability / reliability / consistency" to the real aircraft, you will be surprised (IF you know what you are doing of course). There is so much fine detail built into these kinds of super complex sims that it's almost beyond unbelievable that such things Are available for PC / as an entertainment title! PMDG has proven their track record many times now, and they do brilliant work. In my opinion comparing their upcoming NGX to the Level-D 757 is a little funny. Especially since I know that both will be tremendeously detailed and entertaining titles, things that will "sweep the floor" with many many other competing titles out there. I personally think the FS fanatics are in for the ride of their life so to speak. Many fantastic and highly complex addons are in the pipeline. There's the NGX, LDS757 and then the Flightsim Labs A320. Absolutely fantastic, I think!Tero

All I can think is, all this time and only a winglet update? Seriously? I would have expected higher res vc textures, proper night lighting, a working FMC in the VC... but just winglets? That might take a week to model, and maybe a month to test the performance updates. Well, at least it's free, it's just disappointing though considering the 757 is far off.

HelloThe VC textures have already been reworked by Andre for free and are now very nice indeed. What is wrong with the night lighting as it is now?

Why would you expect that? There development for the 767 has been over years, Im surprised that there doing anything for it. Would you say the same thing about PMDG and there 747? It needs a huge overhaul but Im not expecting them to go back and upgrade anything, they might do a version 2 but you would definitely be paying $$$ for it. I think with Andre's 767 VC mod this aircraft is beautiful, it may fall short of some of the newer release by pmdg but if you compare it to the 747 it kicks its A$$.

I believe PMDG optimized the 747 virtual cockpit when releasing the 748i

Then you would be incorrect, they did nothing to the VC at all.

I will search for the post but Ryan said you will get better FPS in the vc of the 748

Yes they did say that, but they said the higher frame rates were related to the optimized textures of the exterior model, they made no texture changes or improvements to the VC.

Ok Then I stand corrected. But the PMDG 747 is still one of the best virtual cockpits with everything clickable and amazing night and day lighting.

My very valuable contribution to this thread:CS 767 > LVL-D 767Thank you and good day,
