November 3, 201015 yr My very valuable contribution to this thread:CS 767 > LVL-D 767Thank you and good day,Hellothanks for that, very informative
November 3, 201015 yr Commercial Member Andre and Tero - thanks dudes - have explained how the Level-D team juggles REAL LIFE JOBS before tackling the work on the 757. It is not a full time operation. Not even 1/4 of the time. Life takes precedence over 0's and 1's.Why Winglets? Because the Level-D team wanted to THANK YOU for your support with a FREE GIFT for FS9 and FSX. Wade has more substantive fuel burn data and can work to model it.Yes, this will help the 757 and a new 767 (if that's something the team feels the need to do), but more than anything, this WINGLET UPDATE is a Merry Christmas, Happy Thanksgiving, Happy Halloween, Happy Independence Day all rolled into one gift! November 5, 201015 yr I'm just remaining hopeful on the 757. An individual's signature banner (can't remember which forum) indicated "LDS 757 beta tester". True, beta testing can last a while, but I am quite hopeful that she is near...at least in the 2-3 month range. Level-d was revolutionary for FS9 and I expect a similar level for FSX. Eric Szczesniak
November 5, 201015 yr Commercial Member You guys that are trying to stoke flames between us and LDS - stop please. LDS are friends of ours and they make great products. The whole "complex addon" market likely wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the original 767PIC that the LDS767 is based on. They showed everyone (including us) that airliners could be fully modeled in MSFS. I have no doubts at all that they will release their 757 and it'll be great. November 5, 201015 yr Commercial Member Screw you, Ryan. :Talking Ear Off:IT'S A JOKE! I love Ryan and PMDG (except for Vic and Robert).THAT'S A JOKE TOO! I love Robert. It's not a joke about Vic though. Such a beer-guzzling light-weight. :( The SUPPORT FORUM for Level-D Simulations products: http://www.leveldsim.com/forums

Combat will be to the death on Monday November 15th on Planet Vulcan. Tom Allensworth, a.k.a T'Pau will officiate the combat: showing any weakness during combat will be met with immediate banning from Avsim. First you will fight with the Lirpa. If there are any survivors, combat will continue with the Ahn'woon until one combatant is dead. The winner earns the right to exclusively develop all further complex FSX aircraft with the assistance of William Shatner.
November 5, 201015 yr Well, the current LDS 767 is still basically a port-over of the FS2004 version with a windowed-mode 'popup' FMC and extensive use of Windows native fonts throughout the virtual cockpit. Autoland was never fully modeled, even with the FSX port-over (the LDS system as modeled will not maintain runway centerline on rollout like the real aircraft). In short, in terms of modern simulation technology as demonstrated by companies like PMDG and Captainsim, the LDS 767 is way and beyond outdated. Sorry, but if you think the LDS 757 (assuming it EVER really appears) will come anywhere close to PMDG's upcoming 737, you're kidding yourself. :) Wait for the PMDG sim (which very likely will appear before Christmas IMHO), and never look back.Every developer that I've ever kept track of that has taken as long as LDS has to develop an aircraft, along with precious few progress updates and screenshots, almost always ends up abandoning the project altogether. Developers will vehemently deny such up until the last minute, but then you never see anything ever released. It's sad to see LDS follow down this path, but this seems to happen to a lot of companies developing for FSX for whatever reason. You can count on PMDG though - they say they will deliver and always do. PMDG develops and implements new software technology at an amazing pace with astonishing results; Level-D Sim - you have to keep checking just to make sure they are still in business. :)I must respectfully disagree on the Captain Sim front. Very nice airplanes, but very shallow systems implimentation. To mention them in the same breath as PMDG and Level D do these two publishers a great disservice. The FMC in the CS 757 is an ongoing disaster on my system. It won't add STAR waypoints to flight plans for starters, it allows very little pilot input. Compared to the Level D implimentation of the auto flight system, the CS 757 is a CLS level airplane at best. As CS says, it's a game and yes it is a fun toy to take around the circuit and that's about it. The flight director on the 727 is also useless, not simulating in the least the way the true one works on the airplane. the autopilot is also poorly coded. The plane flops around the sky like a salmon strugglilng upstream when it's trying to acquire and track a VOR radial. Same is true for the flight director on the C130 - it really wants to grow up and be a very poor imitation of a VOR needle not a flight director. Why they choose to do such a poor job implimenting the one gauge you spend most of the flight staring at is absolutely beyond me. The flight director in the Level D works just fine. You mention PMDG. Do you know how long it took to release the MD11? Years. Four plus to be exact. Many expressed the very same sentiment you did about "vaporware" and development times. That plane appeared and is flying on my computer right now. I trust Daryl and his crew will release a great plane. It's easy to forget that the LevelD goes all the way back to FS2000 - nothing else out there has that kind of lineage. It, the two PMDG birds and Flight 1 Mustang are about the only planes in FSX where everything works the way its supposed to. Colin Ware
