There's actually 2 root menu options currently:PMDG SETUP >FS ACTION SHORTCUTS >PMDG SETUP has all the stuff actually pertaining to the aircraft itself like the Honeywell vs. Collins MCP, PFD/ND vs. EFIS/MAP etc - FS ACTION SHORTCUTS is your fuel, payload, doors, pushback, etc.
That clears it up. Great!I can't wait to fly her.Cheers

Sweet, an in-session panel changer, instead of going into an add on menu. That will help with UT2 :)

Will there be an external fuel and payload manager? I prefer those a bit.

Not determined yet. It'll be one of the last things to happen if we do it - trying to get the actual aircraft finished first.

Ah, that's cool. If there isn't one, will it still be loadable from FSX's fuel and payload menu?

IMO that would be a step backwards rather than an improvement! Doing any kind of changes in fuel, pax, doors, GPUs or any other kind of eye-candy without leaving the cockpit and especially without opening menus (as already mentioned UT2 doesn't like them) or even worse minimising the FSX window would be the best way. It's up to PMDG to deside, but either way she'll be in my hangar!!!

I agree. It would be great to set a refuel quantity into the fmc, and see it being accurately loaded into the tanks. That would be perfect for my first NG day when I plan to simulate a full shift, comprising of 4-6 flights Big%20Grin.gif

It's funny. The MD11 had the refuelling feature in the FMC, but no load sheet. The Jetstream 41 had the load sheet, but no refueling. I really hope PMDG combine these two features for the NGX to allow payload and fuel load edits on the fly. The ability to fly multiple legs without exiting the sim would be a vast improvement.

I like the realistic fuel load idea. Then you have to wait 20-30 minutes to get full fuel, unless you press some <LOAD NOW> button.

I might be misinterpreting you but you can in fact change the payload while the sim is running with 747 and MD11 FSX versions...

I'll try to be more specific.Technically you are right, but it's not possible from inside the flight deck. The way it is now it's very inconvenient and requires an external program of some sort. To change the payload from fullscreen mode you need to hit Alt+Enter, switch to either the load manager or TOPCAT and change the payload there. But all of this is not very immersive and not real time.Again, the MD11 had at least a semi-realistic refuelling feature and it actually took a good amount of time to get fuel into the tanks. Alas, it lacked the option to change the payload from the flight deck. The Jetstream on the other hand had the load sheet feature, that allowed changing payload from inside the flight deck, but lacked the refueling feature. My point is that it would be awesome to see both features in the NGX.

What I would really like to see is pax load in realtime, just like the fuel does on the MD-11. It would be even better to change the amount of time boarding/unboarding takes depending on wether you are using the foward door only, or foward and rear.

If your looking for stuff like that your better of buying FSPassengers. I think most people here want PMDG to focus there time and effort in actually simulating the aircraft.

Correct, but again I don't think that in terms of programming it's too complicated to implement. Just a time delay and a few options of whether you want it on and for how long (similar to FSPax).I also have another question/remark as regards pushback. Seems like we all have problems on how to calculate turning distance and -less often- degrees. Do you think that it'd be a good idea to be able to steer the plane with the rudder at any point of the pushback, towards any direction and for as many degrees as you like? It could operate like reversing a car. It could maybe have a semi-transparent gauge that would stick with your eyesight, so that you can continue checking the pre-start checklist or whatever during pushback. That would be especially suitable for people with pedals, as legs are not -normally- used for this checklist :D

For myself, I would like to load fuel from inside the sim from something like a special panel that could be called up. I know it is not realistic but neither is the external load manager or loading fuel through the alt menu. Preferably I would like to see a fuel truck pull up and a little man get out and hook up the hose and have the fuel load that way. A little much, I know, but one can always dream.
