November 19, 201015 yr Nick's guide is excellent but there is ONE tweak I really don't agree with:Turn Off System RestoreThis is ok for very advanced Windows users ONLY.Few days ago I had a Windows/system32/config/system error following the Post message.Windows core system was corrupted and there was no way to repare it.The only solution was to use Linux to restore the computer.Without a valid restore point I would have been unable to boot without formating C:/. - PC Hardware: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D // Asus ROG Crosshair X870E HERO // 2x32Gb Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5 6000MT/s CL30 // ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 OC Edition // 4Tb Corsair NVMe M.2 MP600 // Corsair 1600W PSU Samsung Odyssey Arc 55" curved 165 Hz monitor. - Simulator Hardware: VIRPIL Constellation Alpha Prime + VIRPIL VPC Universal Control Panel - #3 + MOZA AY210 Force Feedback Yoke + WINWING URSA MINOR 32 Throttle & PAC Metal + WINWING SKYWALKER Metal Rudder Pedals + WINWING Airbus FCU & EFIS + WINWING Boeing 3N PAP + WINWING MCDU-32 + WINWING PFP-4 + WINWING PFP 3-N + WINWING PFP-7.

November 20, 201015 yr rpowers, I really hope you are better in navigating an FSX airplane, than a website! The above link is for page 1, there are 3 pages, here´s no. 2, scroll down 1/3:http://www.simforums...4141_page2.html:Whistle:David Roch: Agree completely, I´ve used System Restore several times, when the Windows 7 tweaking have gone wild!
November 20, 201015 yr Just get Acronis True Image 2010. You can schedule backups and burn it in a CD or set a key to run before windows starts so you don't even need to boot into windows to recover your system
November 20, 201015 yr Just get Acronis True Image 2010. You can schedule backups and burn it in a CD or set a key to run before windows starts so you don't even need to boot into windows to recover your systemExact it's a very good tool indeed.I for one am used to run Linux to fix problems with the OS without additional programs.True Image or Linux/Ubuntu require a certain level of computer knowledge I am not sure every simmer has. That's why I will never recommend disabling Windows restore function. - PC Hardware: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D // Asus ROG Crosshair X870E HERO // 2x32Gb Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5 6000MT/s CL30 // ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 OC Edition // 4Tb Corsair NVMe M.2 MP600 // Corsair 1600W PSU Samsung Odyssey Arc 55" curved 165 Hz monitor. - Simulator Hardware: VIRPIL Constellation Alpha Prime + VIRPIL VPC Universal Control Panel - #3 + MOZA AY210 Force Feedback Yoke + WINWING URSA MINOR 32 Throttle & PAC Metal + WINWING SKYWALKER Metal Rudder Pedals + WINWING Airbus FCU & EFIS + WINWING Boeing 3N PAP + WINWING MCDU-32 + WINWING PFP-4 + WINWING PFP 3-N + WINWING PFP-7.

November 20, 201015 yr Hello (another tip so probably not a good thing to do )But! if you have got Advanced system care VERSION 3.7.2 also freeware and also produced by I-obit (game-booster people). It has a setting called turbo boost and in all probability it the same thing as game-booster with a different name (and that works)Anyway I while I realise that I-OBIT have a right to sell and make a profit from there products, its a bit naughty to give us BETAs with all options working and then trick us into downloading the finished article (ver2)only to find that the options that worked free in the BeatA (GROOVY MAN) you will now have to pay for.Basically,at the end of the day(as we are so fond of saying in the U.K)These utilities probably don't make a great deal of difference to sim performance, they DO however give a dose of placebo boost(perhaps they should be called that)at the start of a sim session.cheers Andy

A free reliable program is macrium... you could try that if you wish.Vic

November 21, 201015 yr Commercial Member Uninstalling V1.6 as I'm typing this. Never really noticed any difference anyway. Clearing out only 42Mb's of RAM is no big savings. Now it is just hassleware to me. Regards, Dave Opper HiFi Support Manager

November 21, 201015 yr Or if your running W7 you can just use its built in imaging software.but for what I know you need to boot into windows to restore
November 21, 201015 yr but for what I know you need to boot into windows to restoreYou can boot to a usb flash ram key or a rescue dvd, then do the restore from the backup drive. The "image" is only the system image, followed by a backup of the rest of the system. You need something like Norton's "Ghost" to do a full image, plus the boot from a key or cd/dvd containing the restore script, drivers and path. Personally - the System Restore Point is the most convenient, as you can make a Restore Point on the fly. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
