Game Booster v2

Featured Replies

***Thank you,I got it.I will learn about it.I will try it.
I too will return to Alacrity. I have Gamebooster 1.6 installed. This wants to upgrade me everytime I fire it up since #2.0 hit the scene and there is no way to stop this as far as I can see. I agree with others Game Booster was a good product now turning sour.

I am using AlacrityPC which does the job and is free. You can get it here.
****David,AlacrityPC installed / setup ok.I set up a FS9 profile for testing. It will take a day or so to read the log on all that is being done. And a bit of special configuration setup for my PC and the applications I use with FS9.1 (later (FSX).Then some flights in various aircraft to see if there is a performance increase without other problems.Looks real good so far.

Glad I read this thread.I by chance downloaded the Game Booster 2 beta 2.0. It seems to have all options enabled with no anoying ads. It asked me if I wanted to download the latest version, luckily I said no.Joe

I tried Game Booster v1.6 and then went with the beta. It went very well and although I can't verify the performance boost, I do have one. I run between 40-50fps now with the LDS 767 in clouds, which I never did before. I read the thread and was a little upset about paying for the upgrade, but I know that developers should get something for their efforts so I spent the $9.99 :( It installed easily and it does do what it says and like I said I am getting good FPS. Problem, I can't verify why I am getting good frames, but I am, so no complaints here. :( Bob

Now that David gave us a current free tip (thanks for that by the way), it won't take long until it is "pay" too. Big%20Grin.gif
No :--))Ken Salter offers donationwares like the famous FSAutostart if you remember. His latest product, Alacrity will remain free IMO.

I hope so, David. I always applaud to any free or donate software. But as you saw on that other soft: they add some more or less useless feature (e. g. like skins for the UI or something) and suddenly want you to pay for the thing which had been completely free all the time.Looks like market reality to me. Money (sadly) makes the world go whatever, nothing elseI'm sure that many fellow pilots are thankful for that tip given. The strange enforcement for buying the other thing now can therefor be counteracted.

Ryan - on first opening it - this looks to be a great little app! Although Sysinternals has been around the IT world since the 8088 and Noah's Ark, I've never heard of it before - so many thanks!Yes - like everyone else here - I got sick of closing the "free upgrade" - and then finding it was crippled.

Services needs to be shut down at boot, this tool is utterly useless IMO.Here´s a guy with a few good comments about this:http://www.simforums...topic36915.html

I use "End It All", a free program I download several years ago from PCMag website. Works well for me.Dave Hinson

I agree.I use Gamebooster then go to task manager and shut down maybe 4 other processes.I used to go to task manager and shut down about 15.I didn't do the upgrade though. Ron
