It is rather scary what those pilots went through, but at the same time, it just goes to show that for such a massive and advanced aircraft, when things go wrong, only the cream of the crop can safely bring her back home.Jim Engage, research, inform and make your posts count! -Jim Morvay Origin EON-17SLX - Under the hood: Intel Core i7 7700K at 4.2GHz (Base) 4.6GHz (overclock), nVidia GeForce GTX-1080 Pascal w/8gb vram, 32gb (2x16) Crucial 2400mhz RAM, 3840 x 2160 17.3" IPS w/G-SYNC, Samsung 950 EVO 256GB PCIe m.2 SSD (Primary), Samsung 850 EVO 500gb M.2 (Sim Drive), MS Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit

Also Quantas has announced that up to 14 RR engines need replacing on their brand spanking new fleet of A380's"As a result of the Nov. 4 incident, Qantas is replacing as many as 14 Rolls-Royce engines on its A380s, says chief executive Alan Joyce."Not a great start to a long term relationship from my POV.Braun
November 24, 201015 yr RR has a real deal to get done now. Their public face got a major setback and sure it's not a Airbus problem. Well, I'm sure airbus will check every engine more intense then befor, befor they role out any new A380 with RR engines! Regards, Torben Hadler

One of the flight crew, not sure if he was a captain or one of the officers. He is a member on one of Australia's FSX forums. He was leaving some comments over there but couldn't say much due to the investigation. These guys handled that really well under all that pressure. Kind of like taking a B17 home after it was shot up, only this thing is a B17 on steroids. Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
November 24, 201015 yr That was a really nice read. Really shows the level of skill and professionalism of the flight crew. Jon E.
November 24, 201015 yr "It must have been an exciting time on that flight deck," Barr said drily. "It's not something you'd ever want to try again."Well, that would be something for a real good A380 simulation by let's say FeelThere. Not that other team which made the A380 for Wilco! Would they be able to programm such a indeep system that could simulate such a heavy failure situation? I suppose PMDG could do that! Regards, Torben Hadler
November 25, 201015 yr Moderator Hmmm, a cynic might suggest that no one would have to "program in errors" since they seem to exist naturally... :( Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
