November 24, 201015 yr Seems to me that a whole bunch of us find "tweaking" to be a fun and challenging aspect (almost as much as flying) of our beloved hobby. I know I spend a fair amount of time searching the FSX General forum for them. Hence the idea about localizing them for easier reference. What do ya think?Steve Steve Corzine

November 24, 201015 yr I think it is a fantastic idea. I'm not that big of a tweaker yet, but I've been looking at as much info about it as possible. When I get a new box for FSX, I'm going to want that sort of info, and having it all in one specific forum would be awesome. David Norman Paul

What do ya think?SteveI think there is a forum that already allows for tweaking suggestions/input (tips and tricks forum) .. tweaking is only a means to an end. Most people only tweak so that they can enjoy the simulation better. Tweaking provides no where near the enjoyment that actually flying the sim does.
November 24, 201015 yr If the FSX forum doesn't talk about tweaking - what else is there to talk about? That's a high percentage of the interest - the "fun" of coming here! We've already lost the hardware input to a separate forum; Personally I never think to visit it, so whatever is there is lost for me - and others I suspect. There's already a forum here called "Microsoft Flight Simulator Tips and Tricks" that gets - wait for it - one post per day... maybe. The CTD forum has 13 posts this month, and today is the 24th. I never go there, so my vote is "no - keep the expertise here where we can see it". I would suppose if this does happen, then "FSX Tweaks" would become the default forum to go to, and this one would simply just fade away. What's the point? There are no other forums on the internet that can match this one, for it's dozens of "heavy-duty" members; for it's variety; for it's busy interactions; this is a great website: the best; it's like a club. If it's watered down even more then the brainpower of all those regular members here will also slowly disperse, and their impact will reach a diminishing audience - just as the "CTD" and the "Tips" forum have for me.No - I don't think this would be a good move. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
November 24, 201015 yr Part of me says yes and part of me says no. The reason I say no is because like the previous poster stated that FSX is all about tweeking already. It always has and it will always be even in the new version MS is working on.Jim Jim Wenham
November 24, 201015 yr I think this would clean up the normal sections where we discuss new releases, problems there, support issues, praises and all the normal flight sim matters. The tweak people would have to click once more to access all ideas and approaches towards a better sim experience.I would like to see such a small partitionment and maybe the sometimes very technical and "nerdy" thread titles of the pure tweak threads currently hold back the normal (non-rocket science) people from asking simple questions. The tweak section could start with pinned threads like e. g. Bojote's, so that a new user has quick access to all the basic and current information concerning tweaks. As this would enhance the clarity around here, I've voted "yes".

I fly and tweaking is done. I see some of you are constantly tweaking .. interesting. Perhaps Flight .. should be called .. "Flight, the tweaking and flight sim" as a selling point for some. :(

On the other hand it seems almost every add-on needs some sort of tweek here or there. Jim Wenham
November 24, 201015 yr I always try out some tweaks when I fly, so the one thing doesn't harm the other in my eyes.As I haven't had a tweak since years which doesn't allow flying, I can't see any bad in working like this.I sometimes wished that you could change things on the fly of course but I can live with doing a short haul flight and judging about e. g. some autogen tweak when it's finished. I don't do any load-exit-load games for hours to get some values right, but I appreciate it if others do this and tell their findings. So in my eyes, there are some hardcore tweakers around while most other guys just edit their config, fly and and see if it enhances their experience. So there isn't much of a black and white arrangement of people flying and others just tweaking all the time.
November 24, 201015 yr This is not a new idea. There are other forums that have specific forums for those looking for great tweaking ideas.Let's do it!PS: I nominate ******* (Bojote) as the moderator. MSFS
