December 18, 201015 yr Oh, i don't want to make a post against the PMDG's shipping methods...I know that the Postal Service is obviously a level under any FedEx shipping options....(also because some dollars saved meant some longer times to wait....)Only wondering where my package is...maybe i seems too excited, i cannot wait...And Mr.Randazzo said it right, they don't own USPS (not yet, i mean...)Cheers Paolo Fumagalli "Everyday is a new flight, with new system to learn, new failures to prevent and new database to update..."
December 19, 201015 yr I don't think there was a Fedex option when I ordered mine (although I may have missed it in the excitement!)I've now emailed Parcelforce regarding my order. Hopefully they will be in touch soon. Ed Haslam
December 19, 201015 yr Author Same here. Given the delivery options I think I mistook USPS for UPS, the later have always been excellent for deliveries of contracts/images from my clients in the past. I didn't even think domestic to international mail would be an option, my bad, lessons learnt - I will double check in future and I guess FED-EX would be as faster option. However, for the UK, there are many flights disrupted by the weather. Many delivery firms have stated no Christmas guarantee times now :( some kiddies will question Santa this year. :( UK infrastructure doesn't factor in the effects of ice and snow. I personally can't stand the stuff (snow) as I'd rather have food over a pretty landscape :D Chris Farrell
December 20, 201015 yr For those in the uk waiting, and used USPS, my Chief pilot ones were ordered on the 9th of Decemeber. Following the tracking. The order wasnt collected by USPS until the 14th, it was then dispatched out of chicago on the 15th, arrived in the uk on the 17th, awaited customs clearance and is now on showing as the 20th as a a National hub in the uk as recieved and processed.its saying it is using express 24, so based on that depending on the UK weather and wherever that National Hub is I should have thought that I would get them tomorrow (which I will probably miss as Im working) But just thought it would give some guidance of the time to get to the UK for others who have ordered....as of yet I cant see any information about if I am going to have to pay further charges(to the already over priced delivery) for customs etc.Regards Regards James Carr

December 20, 201015 yr Out of interest what number did you get them on? I couldnt get through on their general number. I need to pay customs charges i suppose. Will have to wait until asked to do so i guess though....I called my local PF depot - using this page to find its location:Depot FinderThere should be a phone number along with the address. As I alluded to previously, they weren't very helpful, but that was before the shipping status was updated.I've had no mention of customs charges as of yet, just that it has 'cleared customs', so I'm keeping quiet! December 20, 201015 yr Author Great news, Phew! for you guys. Can you update us on the quality of the images in VOL1 and 2 and the training Crew when you receive them. Please. I'm dying to post an image for comparison but I don't want to upset PMDG. The more I look at mine the more I feel disappointed :(Edit: Also, if you have charges, don't wait for the invoice number to be posted ( 4 days here ) just pop down to your local depot pay and pick up...much much faster than the alternative. Did you just phone until they got the package in the local depot? Did the bill arrive by post later on as I would like to try an claim back the money. We should not be paying duty to import "books"Edit - Just had a look at the Duty Calculator web site and we don't have to pay duty tax but we do have to pay vat @ 17,5% that's aprox £45. Have a go via this link My link I almost forgot, let’s not forget the outrages handling fee of £8 for a small amount of paperwork!!Justin P Justin Paull
December 20, 201015 yr Author There was an update saying something like 'Package received at local depot ; awaiting customs charges to be paid before dispatch' this happened after around 12hrs. I had also received an email with customs and local depot information, but that was replying to my enquiry, so this bit was not automatic. After that I just called the local depot and asked if I could collect and pay without the VAT invoice and they said YEP!Vat due was £19.38 for the Captains Set + £13.50 handling fee Chris Farrell
