Once you hit the polar regions your aircraft will start to fly sideways instead of forward because the poles are dead ends like the edges of a world map. Think of it like the flat-earth theory where you fall off the ends of earth. :(

Ahhhh Now i get it, So there would be no way in flying north over the north pole and coming back from the other side.Ive never tried flying over the poles before, Maybe Its time a plan a flight to the north pole for a change.

You can get closer to the poles in FSX but you will still hit a limit. Guys, there is no way to change this.

It's a bit like the man who tried to walk a square route from the North Pole ....The only way off the North Pole is to go South, so he walked for a mile going due South. Then he turned right through 90 degrees and walked for a further mile due West. After that he turned right through another 90 degrees and walked for a mile going North. Finally, he turned right through another 90 degrees and walked the last mile East back to where he started from. But you can only go North to the North Pole, not East!!!!David

Yes, and the man would have already returned to the North Pole (where he started from) after the third "leg".

According to the FS2004 Creating Terrain and Land Classification SDK: "In Flight Simulator, the earth is defined as an “oblate spheroid,” an ellipse rotated about its minor axis. In terms of shape, it's much like a sphere that is a little bit fat around the equator. In Flight Simulator, the earth has the following dimensions: · Equatorial diameter=12756.27 km · Equatorial circumference=40075.0 km · Polar diameter=12734.62 km · Polar circumference=40007.0 km"

Yes, there is a limit in FSX also, if I remember correctly.

Damn, ah well. Just gotta make the horizon hazy then...

Kind of a curvature...but you see it only at dusk mostly. My sim:

That may not be actual curvature but artificially induced lens distortion. Like how when you start zooming out everything curves... Were you flying north or south? Then there could possibly be a curve... And if I recall FSX has no northern limit but it suffers from heavy glitching around the poles also.
