the world is coming to an end

It is...Just have a look at the Ester Island's history and recent geopolitics studies.Ben
Earth will definitely come to an end when the our sun has used up all the hydrogen in its nuclear fusion reactions. Today it's about 70% hydrogen left. Slowly running out of gas.

I'm sure we'll all be dead long before that ever happens....possibly due to the expansion of the sun and subsequent shifting of the habitable zone. Titan anybody?

The expansion of the sun is due to the sun running out of hydrogen - the mass and gravitation will decrease, causing the sun to expand and burn earth to ashes.Titan won't do. I'd go for HD 177830, near the star Vega. More info here: http://astronautica.com/hd177830.htm :(

That wouldn't be too bad... I wouldn't mind having a big gas giant and 10 other moons plus the sun, hopefully a binary system to boot. Earth is pretty plain jane when you think about it.

I agree Veeray, this one moon thing is getting old.A second moon would really spruce-up the place :)A binary sun - nice touch ;)

Yes... What i meant was a sight out of the window not a prevision in 4 billions years.- Global warming : more than 10X victims in 2010 than in 2000- Big huge loan to China from USA- Peolple eating sand- Darfour crisis 100X worst than Saddam- No more cheap oil- having 1 more degree in only 10 years- USA loosing budget and China with an extra of 2500 Billion dollars- 1000 % spent to renew bank than meet the U.N. witches of 2015 (2%)- Etc, etc, etc...USA rules the world, yes its true. But when you think that 99% of them know more about the future Iphone5 than about their own world, its scary...PS : Everybody that sees a great future now, are stupid or have lack of knowledgeBen

I bet you're a ball at parties. Or at least too lazy to contribute to solving some of our present problems.Cheers, SLuggy

I do not have a signature. Why are you reading this?

It means in only about 150+ years the pole will be at the equator. Sooner if the rate continues to increase. There is likely to be more noticeable effects to the climate and the Earth's geology, like increasing frequency of Earthquakes, and Volcanic activity sooner than that. This is not good! The Mayans may have been right!!!
No problem. When the Mayan Calender runs out, I'm switching to the Playboy Calendar.

The world is ending? Oh no, . . . . . . . , not again! Boy are we ever going to be surprised if anyone is actually right.

Hey common guys....the world is coming to an end, one day our sun will supernova and it will take the earth with it. When that happens, no one knows :(

To my knowledge our sun is to small to create a super nova. Only a slow expand and then retire as a red giant. But we have to expand our knowledge about space and technology to enable our successors to find another planet out there :(

that is, if we don't blow ourselves up..
