March 9, 201115 yr Steve,I am confused about time. It is dark when I get home but I want to fly in the daytime. I change the time under flight parameters and generate a new flight plan. It ignores the time I put and rudely dumps me cold and dark on a cold and dark runway. What am I doing wrong?
March 9, 201115 yr Commercial Member Steve,I am confused about time. It is dark when I get home but I want to fly in the daytime. I change the time under flight parameters and generate a new flight plan. It ignores the time I put and rudely dumps me cold and dark on a cold and dark runway. What am I doing wrong? In the Profile you have Grounded Time and Flying Time, the next flight you make avoids starting between those times.BUT If you go to the Flight Generator page and change the time there and press OK, and do the generated flight, the flight starts at exactly at the time you selected.I just did this during grounded time at 3am and also at 10am during flying time, both flights started at the correct times. With the C&D checkbox deselected, you get deafault all running. If you check the C&D box and go into the C&D settings, you can save eany other setup you like.Steve Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
March 9, 201115 yr Commercial Member Hi Steve,Running the latest version K"C", little confused about the flight planning. Trying a flight from CYXU -> CYAM, IFR, and no matter what I select in "Plan Builder" I always get a direct flight. It doesn't follow airways, or vor to vor. There is a vor Wiarton "YVV" 117.7 that's between CYXU and CYAM yet it doesn't seem to know it's there. Can you try it and see what you get. If I try CYXU -> CYYB with the same settings it does see "YEE" which it should. ThanksGlen edit: I do re-index after every update. What IF will now do when there are no wayponts found, is choose any available route if one exists, so you at least do have a route to navigate by.Also there's more scenery info from the orange globe button and the very big airport problems are fixed, coming up soon...Steve Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com

March 20, 201115 yr Commercial Member Steve,Is there a way to exclude private airstrips from being selected? Is there a way to define private airstrips apart from other airports? Regards; Steve Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
March 20, 201115 yr Commercial Member What I can do is include/exclude airports with only fuel parking, or no parking at all.IF [ke] is current version. Next update coming shortly; fixes and more goodies:I've fixed a couple of things around the map changing departure, and flight generator rebuilding the route without need, plus some other things tidied up as well. The briefing route image route items can go off the map in some places - fixed that too.You can now adjust the starting and ending speeds required for the takeoff and landing distance measurements.I'm testing the new waypoints database - north pacific and north atlantic tracks, seems much less lonely out across the oceans now. You will set your own altitude to go with or to avoid jet streams.Steve Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
March 26, 201115 yr Steve any way to streamline the AH interface? Maybe read the fltplan and rewrite the course/read the weight/fuel loaded, etc?

March 26, 201115 yr I have been using Ideal Flight for several weeks now. While I do enjoy the program, I do have a bit of an issue. After I complete a flight and get my evaluation, I am taking a huge hit with large yaw penalties. My last flight with the CS 757F, I was told that I had an -84 deg yaw during the flight which just was not so. I get yaw penalties with every plane I have flown. Is there some setting I can make to stop getting the penalties. All the other parameters are OK just the yaw. Thanks,Dan

Another had a particular plane, Aerosoft Beaver, that did the 90 degree yaw thing. I've been looking into it and cannot see a reason for it, it's not happened here on any plane. It seems a rare issue. None the less with Ideal Flight it's easy to mask out anything you don't want tested which may interfere with your results. Help (F1), Fly page, down the bottom, Monitor files. You can create a file for a particular aircraft or edit the default file, set yaw parameters to -1.There's more to come in IF; hold on for a major update in testing now, coming shortly...Best regards;Steve Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
March 26, 201115 yr Commercial Member Steve,Thanks, I'll give that a try and let you know.DanHi Dan, excluding the yaw parameter should do the trick. Regarding yaw, I thought of something maybe to do with it and made a slight alteration to the code. Let's hope that cures it. Rememer to try it again when the next version is out, Thanks for bringing this up. Regards; Steve Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
March 27, 201115 yr Hi Steve, is there any reason why the briefing should disappear from the kneeboard as soon as you switch to another page (eg checklist) and back?
