January 17, 201115 yr i currently have ground environment professional for fs9, but i do not think that its a possibility for the problem i have with my ground scenery. 1st pic: then flying over croatia enroute to Istanbul, i noticed something weird, one side of the area is covered in snow and the other is just fine. and there seems to a straight line separating it. note: this snow covered area extends all of the way to germany. 2nd pic, while flying over amsterdam, the shoreline is blocky and square like. it also seems as if the terrain was "extended"?any ideas as to what is wrong? perhaps its the fs9.cfg?
January 17, 201115 yr It does look like some sort of terrain file problem, but to sort out terrain it really helps to provide your exact lat/long so we can see what files should be in effect for that area.scott s..

January 17, 201115 yr I had a similar problem some time back, which greyed out Burlington airport (KBTV) and close surrounding area, (after installing a KBTV add-on) I resolved the problem by unchecking "Ground scenery casts shadows" in Settings / Display. The add-on is still installed Not had the problem since. Hope it works for you.

January 18, 201115 yr Back to square one ! May be a good idea to post on the scenery forum for expert advice. Hope you get it resolved quickly.Echofox

Hope you get it resolved quickly.EchofoxSquare scenery tiles at coasts are usually caused by an add-on scenery for revised coastlines installed at the wrong layer. The inland boundary problem may be caused by add-on landclass files not tuned to suit appropriate times of year. It might be worth checking to see if this effect is eliminated in other seasons.Whatever, I think it is most likely that both are caused by add-ons and not by FS itself.John My co-pilot's name is Sid and he's a star! http://www.adventure-unlimited.org

January 19, 201115 yr Author i have removed the amsterdam city scenery and i still get the blocky shore line.

January 22, 201115 yr I doubt GE Pro is the problem as it's mostly ground textures.Your issues are not with the textures themselves, but the files that call the textures to be displayed.Issue 1 is the square coastlines, or more correctly the lack of coastlines and water masks. This kind of problem is commonly caused by deleting a scenery addon that replaced default files, instead of uninstalling that scenery which would replace the default files. My first guess would be Ultimate Terrain if the issue is wide spread. If it is more localized another addon might be the culprit.Issue 2, somewhere there has to be a line where the snow on the ground stops, when heading south. The long straight line that I see in your screenshots points to a landclass issue, again possibly Ultimate Terrain.I think you need to look at what you have changed recently that might impact landclass and/or coastlines and lakes etc.If you cannot determine what caused this issue, re-establishing the default files can be done rather easily and does not require a complete re-install of the sim.regards,Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.

GE pro is the only terrain scenery add on I have besides airports in europe that i have installed. so in theory, I have not made any recent changes to scenery that might impact landclass as I have not installed any scenery in a long amount of time. i have a question here: where is the FS9 landclass files located? and can they be modified or in other words, can i look at them to see what went wrong here? again, just like you said, i f i cannot really determine what went wrong, i do have a backup of defualt fs9 ground textures backed up to GE pro.
January 23, 201115 yr Many addons include modified landclass, Ultimate Terrain is only one. UT also modifies shorelines and water bodies. Improperly removing UT by deleting it vs. uninstalling it will cause problems like yours.I do not own GE Pro, but do believe it to be texture modifications only, and does not modify landclass. If you feel GE Pro is your problem I recommend you seek help from them directly, since you paid for it you should receive support directly from them. The default landclass and waterclass files are located in FS9\Scenery\Base\Scenery. They are not in a form you can read and should never be modified.Landclass and waterclass files can be added to the Scenery Library at a higher priority than the default files so they override the default files.regards,Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.

January 24, 201115 yr If you want to spend the money on UT, it is well worth it. I don't have UT Europe myself, and I also don't know if it will fix both of your issues. And I do think you have 2 seperate issues, though the cause for both may be the same. If you want to try to fix it for free, first do a Windows Explorer search of your FS9\Scenery\Eurw\scenery folder for all files containing 4913Here is my results from a default FS9 for your comparison...If you would like to try restoring your original files from your FS9 disks then look at this excellent webpage by Jim Robinson- http://www.cat-tamer.com/flightsim/faq001.htmlAlso download this file from the library, it lists every file in FS9 and tells which disk it is on- http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=41627You might also try getting the original worldlc.bgl and seasons.bgl from your disks and place them in FS9\Scenery\BASE\sceneryAs always, back up your files before replacing them with others.I do not have the Cloud 9 Amsterdam, did you uninstall it or simply deactivate it in the Scenery Library?regards,Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
