March 2, 201115 yr Mine story is when i was on final online with the PMDG 747(FSX Default Multiplayer) i touched down then a guy spawned on the runway and he took-off and i crashed then he took-off like nothing happend then i was kicked because the server rules were don't crash into people on purpose or cause problems to annoy people so i got kicked from a 3 hour flight and i was horribly pis**** then flew on free-flight :( that's my story-Brandon Danyluk -Brandon Danyluk CYEG The easiest part of flying is getting off the aircraft

March 3, 201115 yr Disconnect the auto-throttle to use my joysticks and end up overflying the runway all the time. I guess I should manual land the aircraft with auto-throttle. Sagga Toure
March 3, 201115 yr This is not so much a story of flying a PMDG aircraft but a story of how I got my first payware aircraft, the 737NG. First off, there s something about my wife you should know. She doesn't like anything to do with me spending money...she doesn't like anything related to aviation since it takes up too much of my time and she absolutely hates anything related to me spending more time on a computer. :( I guess it was back in either 2003 or 2004, I was getting into simulation and wanted a good realistic add on to challenge me. So for those of you who weren't keeping track, I wanted to spend money on an aircraft to use on my computer...all three things that the wife doesn't like.I weighed my options and shopped around, if I am gonna catch hell for it, it better be worth it. I was going back to college for a work related technical course at the time but once my mind was set, I ordered the 737NG, downloaded it and installed it...just what the doctor ordered.Then...a few weeks later as I come through the door after a day at college, the wife asks me while holding the Visa bill..."did you buy something online a few weeks ago?".Hmmm, play dumb...."online...a few weeks ago...hmmm". :( Then the best part, she says," Yes, some book or something for your course?".Never one to miss an opening, " Oh yes, the book."Can you get the money refunded from work she asks? No, it was highly recommended but not on the mandatory list, I say as the first bullets are dodged.Oh well, it was only around $50 she says as she walks from the room.I reach over to pick up the Visa bill from the counter and sure enough, there is a charge. From Precision Manuals Development...I wonder what other "manuals" they have that I could make use of?She eventually found out when she went on my computer one day and saw the PMDG load manager shortcut on my desktop...but she got over it quick enough.Chuck CYXU
March 3, 201115 yr I once ran out of fuel on a 744 RJAA-KLAX flight (Tokyo to LA).Long story short, my FS2Crew Co-pilot turned on the APU after take-off and I didn't notice it until about 9 hours into the flight when it had burned off too much extra fuel. At least, that's my defense for whenever one of my VA buddies bring it up. I actually have a youtube video on it titled "747 Splash" Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory. The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire. To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune. There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you. It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.
March 3, 201115 yr Mine isn't with a PMDG plane, but I'll share it anyway.. if that's ok ;) No real good PMDG stories yet.. :(However, I feel forgetting to disconnect ground power and taxiing away, with the GPU-cart following you on the taxiway is a goodie...

March 3, 201115 yr Mine was when i was flying the MD11. It was one of my first flights with that baby and i didn't read the manuals befor so i wasn't used to the aircraft. At that time I had just started simming and the MD11 was my first complex addon and at that time i didn't know much about flying at that time. Honestly i didn't even know what an APU was. For the flight it would have been better if i did^^So:I was in cruise and i have been playing a little with the switches in the cockpit to find out what everything is for. Finally i got to the ponit where i was these big black and which switches in front of the trustlevers. I thought they would be for ignition and so i pulled the one for engnie #1. FS2Crew noticed that as shutdown procedure and so my first officer shutted of the other 2 engines. Without engines/hydraulic power/electricity and without knowing how to get them working in the air i couldn't do anything but watching the MD11 descending from FL370 until i reached the ground. The fligth ended in a river somewhere in the middle of Germany. Greetings from the 737 flightdeck!
March 3, 201115 yr I saw in your video that you passed several fields on your way down, why not divert there? They seemed too small to land the 747 on. March 3, 201115 yr I forget to disconnect the external power most of the time, and as a result, lose all my FMS data...Been there done that. Too many times too.I landed into Auckland once with inop gears. That was fun. Spent a long time flying around trying to see if I could get them down. Then just decided to give the belly landing a go... March 3, 201115 yr Mine was on finals into RJAA after a 12 hour flight from EGLL with the PMDG 747-400x. I stupidly tried to disconnect the autopilot using the keyboard "z" key. That turned on FSX's default altitude and heading hold ("autopilot"). My controls went numb, even after disconnecting my AP the right way I couldn't get any control surface to move. Then i finally noticed and pushed the "z" key once and my surfaces were free once more. Only problem is I already extended my speedbrakes from when I was trying to work out what was wrong with my controls. I started loosing altitude faster than my normal descent rate, stalled and SPLAT!!! five miles from the runway!! Nanjul J. Dakat

March 3, 201115 yr PMDG 747, wasn't paying attention. 8 hour flight, perfect landing, one of my best, then I noticed I was at the wrong airport.....:( James Goez - KOPF
March 3, 201115 yr Commercial Member I reach over to pick up the Visa bill from the counter and sure enough, there is a charge. From Precision Manuals Development...I wonder what other "manuals" they have that I could make use of?Awesome.Long story short, my FS2Crew Co-pilot turned on the APU after take-off[...]I'm not trying to discredit your story here, but the 74's APU cannot be started while in the air, so either it was started on the ground and never turned off, or FS2Crew pulls some wildcards behind the scenes. The funniest thing about my PMDG fleet is trying to teach people how to fly them, especially if they aren't pilots themselves (real or virtual). I really don't have any crazy stories to tell off the top of my head, but I'm sure I can think of something. Kyle Rodgers
