Flight! will be free?

Featured Replies

I don't want MS Flight to be "free" now or ever. Just like I don't want health care to be "free". Because you get what you pay for. Profit is a good thing.

Hmmm....From the site:===============Webisode 3 FreeFly for free...Microsoft Flight.Transcript:Birds fly for freeSo can youFly free===============Now, I would make a couple of different assumptions from this:1) You can download the basic program with a very limited area, limited planes, etc. for free. You know... like a demo.2) It was written by someone... whose first language was not English.Just sayin'Andrew

That's right, making a profit makes one a "selfish pig". "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need". Now where have I heard that one before? Oh, yeah...Karl Marx. Its worked SO well all over the world, hasn't it?

Bob: just for your enlightenment and I don't blame you for not knowing the term since your obviously american. And they hate this word. But here it is "Market Failure". Its when the free market can't provide a service, because the profit motive gets in the way And no health care is not Free in Canada it costs the exact same as it does in the United States, minus the profit by the hospital and insurance companies. The profit actually remains in the hands of the people as they tend to live a lot longer than the average american and there is no direct threat of going into the red and losing your house just beause you are sick and uninsured. ;)

Free Market is a totally and completely meaningless concept to 2/3 of the World's population. But let's stick to simming, shall we? :-)Cheers,- jahman.

More likely it's just a bit of poetic license, or perhaps even more simply that there's no cost for virtual avgas! :(

Ohh, wordplay. :D Well maybe they mean to say that [We] (like birds) Fly for free [with] Microsoft Flight.IDK. I really can't jump to conclusions just yet 'cause MS haven't really given a considerable chunk of info about the new sim.

May be they meant freedom of flying like birds, and not a (free) product.excuse my English, it's a second language for me.

its more likely this refers to "free flight mode" as opposed to "mission mode".especially given the penchant for using a single word to convey the "theme" of the webisode ( e.g. Webisode 2:Lift )means the use of the word "free" in webisode 3 is most likely to convey the theme and has nothing to do with economics.the simplest interpretation is most likely, per Occam's Razor.

now Graphics and Multicore PM in Visual Computing Software Enabling.

HOLY SMOKES!!!!Welcome back Phil!!!! I think we're gonna have to seriously plot to kidnap you and hold you hostage in my basement until you tell us everything you know about FS 11!!!! We have ways of making you talk!

Seeing he hasn't worked at MS for years he probably knows what the rest of us knows.

Please inform us as to how he was being miserable. He just calmly stated a fact.

What about all the people who don't know and because of your humor, joke, jest, would have started asking Phil all kinds of questions about Flight? Yes, that really would have been a hoot. Remember, everything you read on the internet is true.
