April 6, 201115 yr Hi guys Thanks to Ryan, I got myself the Maddog Boeing MD80. This time, it really had a terrain radar that actually works when I press TERR. Now I come across a second question. How in the world does the weather radar work? I did push the wxr button. I pressed test. I got a wxr fail sign. I didn't have the TERR on at that time because I understand that the TERR and WXR cannot be on at the same time. Can anyone help me? Am I missing a step to turn it on? Henry C.(Made by MM7)

April 7, 201115 yr Hi, I'm running Maddog MD80 on windows 7 64bit and now having no problems with the weather radar. Here is what I did:1. Updated my nvidia 280 drivers 2. Made sure that the settings on the setup for wx were at the highest3. Made sure that I did not turn it on until the external or APU were running.Anyway works great now.captmac
April 9, 201115 yr Author Are you getting the wxr fail message or do you actually get the wxr +T? I tried everything, but the wxr just can't seem to operate properly. Only the terrain radar display works. Not the wxr. Can you give me the checklist that you're using before you activate the wxr so that it works? Thanks. Henry C.(Made by MM7)
April 9, 201115 yr Hi guys Thanks to Ryan, I got myself the Maddog Boeing MD80. New one this? I have only heard about McDonnell Douglas MD-80, maybe i have missed it.... :(
April 9, 201115 yr I've got the Maddog and have never been able to get it working propery......graphics isues that are known, there is a work around but it did not work for me so I gave up on it.I appreciate the fact that given enough time and help it can probably be made to work but I simply do not have the time and energy to put the additional hours required into figuring it out......and I did invest considerable time including several emails with the creator plus researching the forum. I am dissapointed because from what I understood this was a very good product if realism is your thing. Unfortunately it takes someone with more computer savvy and patience than I have.

I had the same problem until I installed it.Download it here: FSUIPCYou do not need the registered version. Just cancel out the final dialog box after it finishes installing. This is the only additional step I had to take and the WX radar worked immediately. This is one of those "extra" steps that was not obvious to me after I installed the Maddog. AMD 7800X3D, RTX 4090, 42" LG C3 OLED 4K TV/Monitor

Now, everything in the Maddog Boeing MD80 works perfectly. Everything is as realistic as ever. Again, thanks. Henry C.(Made by MM7)
October 15, 201114 yr Commercial Member I just want to say that the Maddog is arguably the finest aircraft ever developed for FSX. The NGX is certainly in the same category, and I have difficulty deciding on which one i love the most. The fact that we're able to fly shared cockpit (multi-crew) rather seamlessly on VATSIM really makes the difference, as it's the most immersive, realistic experience one could hope for. Here's hoping PMDG will in fact provide multi-crew to us! FYI, the Maddog Developer plans to upgrade the Maddog once again (excellent), and Majestic has promised that their upcoming Dash-8-400 (Pro version) will also have multi-crew. I'm really looking forward to that! If you've never flown shared cockpit, my advice is to brief everything and use the checklists, otherwise you have two captains trying to fly the aircrash (lol). At any rate, it's really an excellent and realistic experience, especially when working with VATSIM ATC - most especially during flyins when there are a lot of other human controlled aircraft out there. October 15, 201114 yr Very true, if it wasn't about the rather old graphics, the Maddog still acts as a role-model in the current (and surely final) state. It took some time to get her to that state, but one can still explore systems down to the CBs, a nice lighting system, stable multicrew and also a very nice FS2Crew voice addon with her. Would be great to see other addons mature in that way and at that relatively low cost.

October 16, 201114 yr New one this? I have only heard about McDonnell Douglas MD-80, maybe i have missed it.... In 1997, Boeing purchased the McDonnell Douglas corporation, (and completely absorbed it), so today, the MD-80 is legally/officially a "Boeing" product - although almost all MD-80s in existence were built when McDonnell Douglas was was still an independent entity, and Boeing had no part in the design of the aircraft. The last couple of years of the MD-80 series production run did take place after the Boeing-MD merger. The MD-95, which became the Boeing 717, is a different matter, but Boeing killed that product line in 2006.
