April 27, 201115 yr That's true of course, but then again it does speed up frame rates and in any case you can change the canvas size then do an unsharp mask on the textures in PS and get them looking a lot better if you really want to. it is actually worth tarting them up a bit to be honest, because there's a typo on the overhead LOLAl Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
April 27, 201115 yr Al,Could you please provide your modified panel.cfg to get the Aerosim/ISG panel to work with the CS777. I can't get it working and want to see how you did it.Thanks--- Jim Atkins
April 28, 201115 yr I'll PM it to you. EDIT: done.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
April 28, 201115 yr Nah,the AeroSim stuff is pretty 'lite' to be honest,.................Thanks Al- I may wait and see what CS delivers..... at least for now. I'm bookmarking this thread in case I want to come back and try your solution. Thanks for all the detailed explanations and solution to then "model protection".... Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. April 28, 201115 yr What I did was use the HUD from the Fa-18.Here my panel.cfg entry ://--------------------------------------------------------[Window02] Background_color=0,0,0 size_mm=456,378position=4visible=0ident=HUDwindow_size= 0.600, 0.650window_pos= 0.200, 0.300gauge00=fa-18!hud_2d, 0,0,456,378,4Thanks !!!There are a few HUD gauges in the Avsim file library - try a search on 'Generic Head Up Display' - or, any aircraft you have that has a HUD could donate the gauge, or, if you have CS Weapon, that'll add a HUD with one click from the installer, and you'll have missiles rockets and guns too LOL, perfect for those 'freedom bird' flights out of Kandahar when you want to get a bit proactive...AlThank you Al.
April 28, 201115 yr I'll PM it to you. EDIT: done.AlHi Al,Wonder if you could do the same for me, I have half the merge completed, but the VC view is stuck behind the Capt's seat and cannot see a way to overcome this. The next step is to do the ISG guages but thought I better get the VC correct first.CheersJulian
April 28, 201115 yr PM sent with panel cfg file on it.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
April 28, 201115 yr AlHahaha, you're a such a crazy guy, Alan. I was laughing my a.. off when I saw those screenshots. Now I have to go for some weaponized triple 7 I think, the idea of it is just too cool and, yeah, insane. I have to try this.Seems like you have a very different approach towards inflight security measures. Upset passenger 'What was that, I heard an explosion, is the plane going down?'FA 'Don't worry, Mam, Captain Alan "Cake" Chock is just testing the big flight crew entertainment system installation.'
April 28, 201115 yr Joking aside I do like that CS Weapon thing a lot, it's great on the A2A Spitfire with a gun against someone else in another A2A Spitfire on multiplayer, and it is pretty cool on the Nemeth and Area 51 Hueys to really have some rockets and guns to fire. I know FSX isn't really a combat sim of course, but it is cool to be able to give some of the nice warbirds we have these days some teeth once in a while. CS did a great job on that little add on.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
April 28, 201115 yr Agreed, but we still have to stress the wish for getting the multiplayer thing to happen, so that Spit can take out another Spit, both with human (virtual) drivers. The 777 may have an advantage in a dogfight with the Spit. I think that the Spit has to turn over before she can dive (negative G trouble otherwise), the 777 may follow her without this need. Passenger comfort at all costs. But it could be that the 777 is better to point at. Just assuming.
April 28, 201115 yr The 777 may not have the turning circle of the Spitfire, possibly necessitating boom and zoom tactics, but it does have the edge on in flight entertainment and tasty on-board snack facilities. Although the Spit can operate from shorter grass strips, offering a tactical advantage, at a push the B777 can land on a grass strip, as we have seen proven by BA. Loiter time for the 777 over the battlefield is far superior to the Spit, but then again, a decent fitter can rearm and refuel a Spit in ten minutes, whereas the 777 will need to be thoroughly vacuumed in and around all the seats, have the in flight magazines and safety briefing cards checked, the antimacassars straightened, the beverages restocked, in addition to being refuled and rearmed, so this balances things out in combat operations.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
April 29, 201115 yr Alan, I see an epic 777 against Spit battle coming up. Already can smell the fumes of the heavy guns. whereas the 777 will need to be thoroughly vacuumed in and around all the seats, have the in flight magazines and safety briefing cards checkedYou name it, war is an ugly business.
April 29, 201115 yr Can someone post the posky/cs/isg/shockwave merge? Also where you can get the sounds? Thanks!
April 29, 201115 yr Can someone post the posky/cs/isg/shockwave merge? Also where you can get the sounds? Thanks! Some guys had some trouble with the sounds. The 738 ones are used for now and if they don't come up after installing, the copy action from \SimObjects\Airplanes\B737_800\sound to the 777 sound folder may help. If you want to have some other sounds, maybe the Avsim library helps you with some freeware sets. Can't really say much about the VC merges though, but Alan seems to be a Pro there.
