If it is better than the Wilco one, I will certainly look into it when it becomes available.

I don't think it is so hard to be better than wilco.

I purchased it, installed it without issue. As has been pointed out, it is the default 747 2D and VC panel (anyone know of a good 777 panel for FSX that can be used in the interim?). The model and the animations are stunning - absolutely outstanding. I was getting pretty good FPS, in excess of 24 (see my specs below). I took it for a couple of loops around KIAD.I originally took off without altering any of the load or fuel values. The fuel was at 300,000+ lbs and almost nothing in terms of load. I was far below MTW, I thought. I set it up for a initial altitude of 4K FT and a 2,000 FPM climb out. Manually flying it to 1,000 ft, I used a moderate rate of climb to gain speed. At 1,000 ft., I engaged A/P with AT set to 250 knots. Engaged climb and suddenly I was in a stall. I wasn't watching the speed ribbon. I did not have enough thrust to get to my target of 250 knots. I reset the sim and lowered the fuel weight to 150,000 lbs. I set rate of climb to 1,800 FPM. This time I kept an eye on the speed ribbon. Sure enough, as soon as I engaged AP at at 1,000 feet, the speed started to drop off - quite quickly actually. I immediately lowered my rate of climb to 700 FPM. Slowly she returned to a positive increase in speed. Hmmm.... OK, let's do that for a while and when we get to 250 knots, I will crank it up to 1800 FPM again. It did exactly the same as earlier... immediate loss of speed. Only bringing the climb down to below 1,000 FPM would keep it at or gaining speed.First question; has anyone else encountered this?If not, can anyone tell me how to adjust the thrust value in the CFG file?It truly is a beautiful piece of work, and for the short time I flew it, did not seem to have any major issues other than the one above.

Hi Tom,I would post on the CS forum. There are some helpful gurus there,Particularly Lou and Marcos.I'm sure this will be corrected shortly, and hopefully they will produce the panel(s) soon.CS's customer service has definitely been improving lately.Their aircraft do require an up to date rig due tothe immersive detail on their birds.I don't have this one yet as I'm waiting till the fall to replenish my wallet.Ron

Thanks for the reply Ron.. Yeah, I think I will scoot over there sometime this weekend. I have enough of a challenge just particiipating in our forums.

I have had a good look at the screenshots on Captain Sim's website, and I must say I am very very impressed! Knowing that they are going to release the rest of the project later (with a discount for those who purchase just the external model now), is news all of us flight simmers should rejoice in. This is one of the most requested heavies for FSX, and I'm happy to see Captain Sim throw their name into the hat. PMDG's T7 will no doubt be a game changer, and judging by the previews for the NGX, it should offer both the external eye candy and geeky systems depth to satisfy the most discriminating simmer. But that project will most likely take some time, and at least in the interim a quality T7 could now be available to tide us over. I had questioned in the other forum topic (now locked) the point in choosing to purchase this external model vs. the freeware POSKY model. I have now changed my mind after viewing the screenshots. The detail is incredible, they even modeled the flap actuators (like PMDG will for the NGX)..... as nice as the POSKY model is it appears Captain Sim's offers even more intricate details, which I believe justifies the $10 cost of their model. We should applaud CS's surprise announcement, and give them a chance. We all want a decent FSX 777, competition is good and I only wish there was more competition in the FSX arena, because we benefit greatly given the dearth of payware models released fpr FSX relative to the history of FS9 addon releases. Not everyone has the patience and time to learn complex system procedures, and there is a very viable market for lite or medium complexity airliners, so I see no harm in CS offering the T7. Although die hard systems geeks like myself may pass on this project, one cannot overlook the enjoyment it will bring to the majority of flight simmers, and their effort will help sustain our beloved hobby.

A.J., you picked the thoughts riight out of my skull. The only correction I need to bring to your attention however, that it is not $10. It is 9 something Euros. That equates to $13 some odd dollars. :(

Sounds like it's a nice thing judging by your comments Tom. I guess they'll have to work on the flight model, which is presumably what they are doing. In the meantime I'd be inclined to just transplant a Triple Seven flight model from something else if it appears problematic on the climb. If you don't have it and want to know some figures from the Aerosim 777's config file, let me know. Of course I'd not want to post it in full (it being payware), but there's nothing wrong with typing in the odd similar value in your config file.Al

[TurbineEngineData]bypass_ratio=6.400000fuel_flow_gain= 0.001inlet_area= 65.962rated_N2_rpm= 29920.000static_thrust= 93400.000afterburner_available= 0reverser_available= 1[jet_engine]thrust_scalar =1.000Tom, look at the TurbineEngineData section. You can adjust thrust with the static_thrust field. The example above is from the Posky 777-200ER (RR Trent 895) which is the correct real life value. CS has in the past tend to make this value to low for some reason. That could be the problem. You can also affect thrust with the thrust_scalar field in the jet_engine section.90000 would be the correct value for the PW 4090 777-200ER and 93700 for the GE90's

Thanks

It's not a power issue. On Manual throttles it's fine. It's an auto throttle issue. Many have the problem.I also have a severe FDE problem too... The aircraft will hold level flight BELOW 100kts at flaps 25!!!!Means I can't land the thing. Seems a few have this also.

Yeah I've been in the Captain Sim forums and they're a few things that need smoothing out. THe exciting thing is that CS staff seem to be aactive in engaging with people that are having problems and giving answers. Right now I'm working on how to get the POSKY 777 VC to work in CS's 777. Those together would satisfy me for now.My biggest problem is with the paint-kit. I'm using PS7 and the psd files are blank with only guidlines.

Sorry I don't think you'll be able to integrate the POSKY VC into the CS model. The POSKY model is not built to FSX SDK standards, meaning a separate interior VC model. As such you can't treat the POSKY model as an interior VC in a FSX native model like the CS777.

Thanks

Tom
