So far, the level of systems fidelity. I have been studying the manuals for sometime now and the depth of the systems is amazing! I was doing a flight in Tucson, shut down the packs for start, took some extra time because I was following checklist and testing and noticed the temp in the cabin was going up.
Given that George was a beta tester for the MD-11, and having read that these MD-11 testers are most likely on the NGX beta team, can we infer that George has started the beta test? What other FSX aircraft do you know of where the cabin temp rises because the packs are off? We do know that PMDG is modeling this little intricacy (among many other subtle realistic nuances that no other developer has dared model). Locked topics, no news for weeks after teasing us that major development has been completed, and it's the start of the weekend.....I smell a new update very shortly! Big%20Grin.gifHis post could very well be the first hint that the long awaited beta process has begun, we just need the official announcement to put us at ease.

AJ, I have been a tester for PMDG for a long time and I am testing the NGX. Its time to put some of the more "colorful comments" I have been reading to bed. As I mentioned, IMHO the NGX is amazing. I am not aware when the next announcement is coming but I can try to answer any questions folks may have. :(

Something that may of of interest is the number of customer specific options available in the product. There are literarily pages of options!

I'm gonna spend way too much time messing with that. How are the sounds?

Hi George, Thanks for your contribution in the testing phase! my 1st question,Is there auto load shedding under single generator op's ,and 2'nd do you get an APU EGT rise on engine start? Thanks again.

Sounds are very good and are a big part of the immersive experience the NGX creates.

1) Yes but as the real airplane it sheds cabin busses.2) I need to check on this one
I remember when the PMDG 757 came out for Fly!, Rob was my Hero way back then!http://forum.avsim.net/topic/85016-pmdg-airliner-series-757-is-available/
Wasn't that an incredible product for the time? If I remember correctly it was the first product I was lucky enough to test for PMDG. Or was the 767 first??

Hey JBZ, I didn't fly in the Army. I was 11B. I don't have a degree and I wear contacts so I couldn't get a flying gig. I had a bunch of friends that flew Apaches and Blackhawks out of McEntire JRB in South Carolina. My buddy Pat was with A Co, 1st BN, 151st Aviation Rgt when he died in Mosul. Another of our pilots at Mesa flew Blackhawks for the 151st. One of my FO's when I was a CRJ captain had just gotten out of the Army flying Blackhawks for the 101st at Campbell. He was working with me to try and get a warrant package through if I had Lasik eye surgery but they said no go unless I waited two years for my eyes stabilize and finnish my degree. So I said to hell with it and joined as an 11B grunt. I was assigned to 2PLT ACo. 2Bn 502nd IN Rgt 101st AB. We left Iraq right before you got there. I don't know how much time you spent on the south side of BIAP but we lived at the southeast end of Camp Striker right across from the end of 33L. I used to have a great time sitting out back on top of the mortar bunker watching all the Il-76's and various Antonov turboprops and the occaisional daytime C-17 takeoff and landing. We spent most of our time outside the wire at our patrol base way down by the Yusifiyah Thermal Power Plant. The water treatment plant we lived at was the armpit of the universe. I would have gone nuts out there if there wasn't so much aviation activity to enjoy watching. The Apaches were always around looking for bad guys and IED's. The AC-130's were always around at night looking things over. Occaisionally we saw an Army RC-7B up high listening to bad guy cell phone calls. Parts of it were fun but I wouldn't want to do it again!Hiram Hunt

This feature alone is very exciting indeed. Especially if PMDG researches thoroughly and get the options correct per airline. It will be nice to not have to dig through web forums or real cockpit photos trying to guess what options to choose when simulating your favorite(s) airline.I loved the customization available with the MD-11, but unfortunately it was hard to decide which options were actually pertinent to the airline in question, especially since the MD-11 is basically out of service with all passenger airlines with the exception of KLM. It's so important to have a factual "database" built into the NGX that eliminates any guesswork!I wonder if PMDG was able to obtain this information from each airline directly, or maybe this is a benefit of having connections to Boeing itself, they are basically THE source for this obscure info. I own the PMDG manuals and was overwhelmed by the multitude of possible options, the possibilities are endless in terms of airline specific equipment, I can't wait to have my NGX tailored specifically to the airline for the ultimate in realism and immersion! No more one size fits all, if PMDG can successfully simulate the variety of options chosen by the real customers, the NGX will truly be "As Real As It Gets!" Here are my questions:1.) Does the FMC allow you to use the numeric keyboard to enter in scratchpad data? 2.) Are there any tricks in the ground friction model to allow more realistic braking? 3.) Are the landing lights "Lotus" style where they emit volumetric light?I am grateful to see that PMDG is allowing you to comment on the project, I will limit my queries for now to those 3 items until I hear the "all clear" from the developers themselves. Get ready for the deluge of inquiries from everyone once the beta announcement finally arrives!!!!!

1) I will check tomorrow2) The ground friction model is custom and the amount of thrust and braking feels right for different weights.3) Lotus style lights? The PMDG team is great bunch of people. I am glad to. :(
