April 23, 201115 yr Well the point is that one of the betatesters gives us information about the NGX, BUT there is no official statement that the NGX is in Beta. So now it's your turn to build your own opinion about wether it is in beta or not :DIn my (!!!) opinion, they are in beta since a week or something like that and everything works fine until now but it's just a guess (!!!). I don't know anything more than you.Have a nice weekend ;)my *** question is how would a beta tester know if its not in beta? Joe Barton
April 23, 201115 yr LOL, guys it cannot be hard to just wait until PMDG Makes a topic saying, 'NGX in Beta!'I mean seriously Does asking every 2 hours (just to be answered with a no) really bring the release closer? Or does it? o_O
April 23, 201115 yr But, the temperature in the cabin (on the LD 767) is hard-coded to always rise to something close to 80 degrees F when the packs are off, no matter what the outside temperature might be. You could be sitting on a ramp in Alaska in January, with an OAT of -25 F, and the cabin will still heat up with packs off.I'm willing to bet that the cabin temperature in the NGX will follow the ambient temp. Turn the packs off in Phoenix in summer, and the cabin will get very warm indeed. Turn them off in Nome in winter, and you'll have to worry about ice forming in the potable water tanks...No inside info on that, but knowing PMDG's committment to realism in aircraft and systems behavior - it's logical...Jim BarrettIf you could place this bet it would pay off! :( Hey does the trim wheel thing spin like crazy like real life?Yes and the VC animation looks great.Hi Georges,I remember reading something about customizable light or back light system ? Did you find any lighting settings where one's could choose how to backlight the VC ?ThanksGregAll the lighting controls work as they would in the real plane (within the limits of FSX) George Morris
April 23, 201115 yr Gents, please don't theorize the status of the product by my comments. PMDG will be continuing to make updates when they have somting new to communicate that they haven't already posted. As I mentioned earlier and PMDG has mentioned, they are busy and things are progressing. Let's get back to discussing the NGX. :( George Morris
April 23, 201115 yr My "theory" is that, if beta testing really be as short as pmdg says it will be, they won't announce beta at all and the next announcement will be release!! Nick Brazel EGNJ Asus P6TSE Motherboard + Intel Core i7 920 o/c to 3.8GHz 6GB RAM Nvidia GTX 285 Windows 7

Updates stated to follow in the next 2-4 days showed up 4-6 weeks later. So honestly, who knows.Eric Szczesniak Eric Szczesniak
April 23, 201115 yr Can you please speak a little about the 2D panel? We haven't seen any picture of it and the only information available is that there will be one.How does it comapre to MD11 2D panel? How is the panel lightning? Are all features available in 2D panel, i.e. HUGS system etc?Are any new features implemented that we don't know of (compared to MD11)?Please tell us a bit about the feel of the 2D panel. How do you find it?Thanks! Rob Belach
April 23, 201115 yr Falcon999/George Morris,First of all, I highly appreciate your help to tell us something about your current experience with the NGX and to answer several questions. Great job and many thanks for that.Well, I'm not going that technical but more about the reality and how it feels.- How are the spool up exterior/interior sounds?- We've the apportunity to fly a clean or a dirty plane, right? What can we expect from a dirty plane exactly?- The 737NGX comes with sounds of the bumby taxiways/runways? (You hear "kadung, kadung, kadung ....")- Even when taxiing, you already see the flexibility of the wings? They're going abit up and down when taxiing.- You can change your own "cockpit-style" regardless wich livery you take (even if the real-one haven't that)? With cockpit-style I mean, you are able to choosedifferent MCP's, standy instruments etc. Thanks in advantage! =) Steven Albi
April 23, 201115 yr Kind of amazing how quickly the mood can change around here. Careful George, you're about to turn into the most popular guy on AVSIM.Don't tell me... :( About 12 hours ago I was sure this thread would be going to the death row, but now... Things can change really fast!Well the point is that one of the betatesters gives us information about the NGX, BUT there is no official statement that the NGX is in Beta. I don't know anything more than you.Have a nice weekend ;)Totally agree with it. In my opinion the NGX is in beta, or in a pre-beta state, when the testers recieve the product to be tested, in this case the NGX. As we all know, PMDG would only announce beta after it actually happen. So, for me, the clues indicate it is where we think it is but they think it's not the right time to officially tell us :(. But George asked us to get back to discussing the NGX, so let's get back to discussing the NGX :(. So, George, what are your thoughts on the plane? I mean, what features really amazed you, what you have to say about the NGX and what should we expect when flying it for the first time? Matheus Mafra
April 23, 201115 yr Falcon999/George MorrisI guess you're under a nda, so, what are the limits here? can we ask for screenshots? Juan Ramos
April 23, 201115 yr falcon999 I just want a simple answer, is the ngx in beta or not? And if not where are you getting your information on the ngx from?Joe Barton Joe Barton
April 23, 201115 yr falcon999 I just want a simple answer, is the ngx in beta or not? And if not where are you getting your information on the ngx from?Joe BartonHe is one of the NGX beta testers. That's why he knows so much. But I am almost completely sure that if someone has to tell us wether it is or not in beta, this person is not him.Read this:Well the point is that one of the betatesters gives us information about the NGX, BUT there is no official statement that the NGX is in Beta. April 23, 201115 yr Gents, we need to keep the thread on the right track and considering I am going to be fairly busy this weekend, let's put this one to bed for now. I am sure PMDG will be making further comments soon so stay tuned. Ryan and the team will continue to answer questions. I will try to post a few more impressions and comments as I progress in testing. The NGX is amazing! The VC, in depth fidelity of the systems and flight model are just some of the reasons why I believe your going to have a great time discovering the extraordinary capabilities of the NGX. :( George Morris
April 23, 201115 yr This is non-essential, but I was just thinking about it:What visible ground support vehicles are available? (GPU, ASU, LAV, ACU)Do the flaps shake or buffet when fully extended into the jetblast? (especially noticeable on ground in wing view)Can you see the auger in the flap bay spinning when the spoilers are deployed after landing? Do the lights light up the scenery? (like airbus x)The reason I don't ask about technical details is because I have complete confidence that they have everything covered there, but I was just curious about the less essential details.
