Hi,The shipping prices are not actually being set by us - those are the direct prices from FedEx and USPS based on the weight/size of the package and the destination. Fuel costs are the main reason they're so high now... nothing we can really do about that. It costs quite a lot to ship things even within the US now too. The USPS options are cheaper but it's less reliable and may take many weeks to get there.

To be honest, I refused to buy the FCTM because of outrageous transport-costs.

I wish there was a better way guys - shipping stuff across oceans costs money, that's really the truth unfortunately.

It's not that I do not want to pay the transport, but it's really too expensive (around €80 euro transport costs, that's EXclusive the price of the manual) and I know it's not PMDG's problem. I'm waiting untill a wholesale business is going to sell them, such as AviationMegaStore, located in the Netherlands.

The costs of the transport to Brazil by FedEx is $300. 20 bucks less than the price of the manuals.

I paid freight costs of $180US for the NG Cheif pilot set and about $140US for the MD11 set, I decided that Fedex Priority Intl was the way to go, recieved them in 3 buisness days from Kmem to New Zealand. Less chance of them being damaged in transit and as Ryan said, taking forever using standard post. I They arrived in mint condition and superfast. CheersJulian Evans

I will say having purchased these items and recently received them that they are really heavy, and U.S. domestic shipping was failry quick. $180 is pretty steep, though, I will give you that.

I'm sure the transport costs to Dubai where I live now would be a disaster as well.I have a trip to New York in the coming days// PMDG would it be possible to find the manual sets somewhere from a retail in Manhattan? [pretty sure the answer would be "no" but no harm to ask....]Cheers!

Have them shipped to your hotel in New York. :(

You do get what you pay for with FedEx - they're really good and you always know exactly where the package is.

Very true. Year before last I expedited a package to Toronto from Texas on Dec. 22nd & they had drivers out making rounds (literally following the plow trucks) till midnight Christmas eve to make sure they got delivered on time. I was sweating bullets too because I'd brought that package home personally from Tokyo...My 2nd & probably last ride on a 777... 14 hrs, I actually acquired a taste for Heineken on that flight just to stay passed out....

USPS, not so much. For instance my package was deemed "missent" at like 4 in the morning the day it arrived and then it magically appeared. Glad to have it, but that was disconcerting. But for $17 for shipping I probably won't get too much sympathy here.
