I have loved this aircraft by Flight 1 and have been enjoying lot's of flights in it. This afternoon, I succesfully landed at EGDP Portland, and then took off!How many challenges have you tried with this amazing aircraft?

I did some of the Scotland routes which were posted by some forum member.SCOTLANDLoganair Scotland´s AirlineKirkwal-Stronsay-Sanday-Papa Westray-Eday-Westray-North RonaldsayEGPA-EGER-EGES-EGEP-EGED-EGEW-EGENHebridean Air ServicesOban-Coll-Tiree-ColonsayEGEO-EGEL-EGPU-EGEYI also went across the small German Isles and later tried some of the stuff around St. Maarten. An easy flyer this thing is, it could even take my rather rough landing technique. Just%20Kidding.gif

I have been using this aircraft in OrbX FTX NA Blue terrain. The combionation of the awesome scenery plus the beautifully modeled, beautifully textured, beautifully sounding, beautifully handling, beautifully performing BN2 Islander is amazing. I can really recommend it! Sometime in the future I will make some sort of livery to fit the scenery. But, flying in and out of the small airports with OrbX weather themes 4 or 5 is really a challenge!

No challenges, Dave - but you're right! I use it around the OrbX PNW and NRockies where it absolutely excels! This is one great aircraft!

Amen to that Les. I actually gave up. I just fly the thing manually, which is so easy to do. It's the most docile plane I know. And it's so slow you can just get out and ask somebody the way.. :( Ian

I like it too.Is anybody maybe using it with FSCaptain? I have a problem because FSCaptain detects a crash on every landing I make with this aircraft (but not FSX!) that's why I can't use it and I use FSCaptain on almost every flight. Sadly nobody on FSCaptain's forum has this nice aircraft so I don't know if this is my problem or of that addon.

G7USL (is that your amateur radio callsign?) thanks for reminding me about the wonderful Islander. I dusted off my BA aircraft and decided to start a trip around Norway taking advantage of it's STOL capabilities. Will post pix from the journey in the screenshot forum. As for now, here's me "flying the flag over Norway"..(Scenery by Tileproxy, Weather by FSrealWX, Islander by Flight1) :( Adam (ex G4...)PS: Thanks for the KLN-90B vid - I need to learn how to use it!

I can't help right now, Artur, but I re-installed FSCaptain last night, specifically to fly the Islander. If I can get some time in (Ducati meeting at Mosport this weekend)I will get back to you ASAP.

User error.I had Crash detection off in FSX (some Orbx sceneries need that at the moment) and I of course forgot that. I guess some more Orbx airports have some problem areas and the chance is I would crash each time if not for disabled crash detection. Today I made a flight outside that area and everything went without problems. No crash :)The only mystery which remains is why I only got this problem with BN-2 Islander. I made hundreds of flights in PNW without crashing.

I am also a big fan (and did cheat a bit by installing my trusted RXP 530 as a pop-up). But for my main problem since purchase (just a few days ago) is to get some of the published airspeeds. No matter the MP/RPM settings, I can't get it over 100 knots, when it should be at 120 kn.

Ok, I realize this isn't quite a "real-world" challenge but it does give you a sense at just how capable the Islander is with regards to STOL. This is where I ended up touching down right at the end of the deck at about 55-60kts.image000w.th.png

This is strange. I just flew at 6000ft here and with the MP at 23" and the engines at 2400RPM I was able to get 127kt IAS and a TAS of about 140kts. These numbers are pretty much what the manual says you should get. There must be something else going on that's not allowing you to get the right performance.image001id.th.png
