Why posting in here?

Hi folks, I browse this forum since some time now and I noticed that lots of you guys post topcs which should go to the hardware section or other gerenal things which haven´t hardly anything to do with support by PMDG. I´m just curious why this is the way it is.Btw. in the PMDG main forum there are allready 2 hardware posts on the first site and this goes on and on.

Best regards, Steffen

Steffen,This is a general forum and a lot of people are doing hardware upgrades right now in anticipation of the NGX. There's a lot of hardware knowledge here in this forum and it clearly does relate to our products, so we don't mind it. If it bothers you then just don't read the threads.

Personally, I enjoy them. Hardware questions comprise the bulk of the extremely short list of questions to which I can give a serious answer. I know a little about a lot of things, but I'm expert at nothing. Except my job... Big%20Grin.gif

Do people only browse certain forums? I use the 'view new posts' button all the time, this way i dont miss anything from any area of avsim.

I only watch this one & PMDG's 744 forum. None of the others interest me.

I check the PMDG forums, the hardware forums, and occasionally the FSX and Flight forums. PMDG and hardware forums are where I spend 95% of my time though.

Well Ryan, it doesn´t bother me. I had just been curious why so many do this. It seems that the PMDG forums are the ones with the highest number of readers. It´s like a litte parellel universum inside the avsim forums. I understand this with the hardware toipcs. Asking the dev´s is allways good when you build a new system to use with s special addon. Had this been ever bevore the someone buys an entirely new system cause of only one new, world changing addon?

Yeah, the new posts button is very helpful. I mostly browse in the FS9 and FSX forums, the hardware section and the screen shots forum.

Everyone's a critic.Pete Walsh.

I'm enjoying the hardware threads - I intend to build a computer soon and am bookmarking most of the hardware threads to refer to soon. Ryan is also very knowledgeable and helpful as far as I have seen - that's probably partly why people post it here.Cheers,Rudy

Where can I get this button?! I spend about 10% of my time in the PMDG forum and about 90% in the mobo, cpu, and ram forum. Computer parts are sort of a sub hobby of mine...
